    09:38 - Final thoughts on the Traeger Ironwood Vs Weber Stealth Pellet Grill
    Both Traeger Ironwood and Weber Stealth are well-built, solid pellet grills with a decent amount of cooking space. The Ironwood features a 20 lbs hopper while the Stealth has a 22 lbs one. Each pit also has a low fuel sensor so you don't have to worry about running out of pellets during the cook.
    Traeger Ironwood and Weber Stealth are perfect for those who want a pit with a more modern operating system. The Stealth offers a PID WiFi controller with a temperature range of 200°F to 600°F degrees. The Ironwood has a WiFIRE PID touchscreen controller and a temperature range of 165°F to 500°F. Each brand has its own mobile app that allows monitoring your cook but also adjusts the temperature, set timer and alarm.
    The initial startup and burn-off process is easy on both pits. I'd say that the Ironwood and the Stealth smoke a little above the average pellet grill. However, while the Stealth leaks a lot of smoke around the lid, the Ironwood does not leak at all thanks to the built-in gasket.
    I also noticed some differences when cooking on Traeger Ironwood vs Weber Stealth. The Ironwood leans more toward the low and slow type of cooking, while the Stealth leans more toward the grilling. The spare ribs cooked on the Ironwood really impressed me with a perfect smoke ring. At the same time, grilled shrimp on the Weber Stealth were hands down the best I had in my life.
    Overall, the Weber Stealth is best for someone who does more grilling but wants to start doing a little bit of low and slow cooking as well. The Ironwood will definitely do a great job on both. Despite the differences, I believe both pits are totally worth the investment.

    You nailed this video!
    I have used both of these pits extensively (I own the Timberline XL, which is the bigger brother of the Ironwood), and my girlfriend has a SmokeFire. Gotta say I love the SmokeFire. It is just so damn versatile with the option for real high-heat grilling and low-and-slow works well if you use the top rack and put a drip tray below the meat. It also smokes constantly and produces great flavor and smoke rings - something that Traeger imitates with the Ironwood and Timberline.
    All that said it has some annoying flaws like the hopper and it’s easy to screw up the build with the fire pot, glow plug and and pellet slide.
    Still, I love it and lean toward the Weber.

    I buy everything based on reviews. Some said this was hard to put together ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt some guy said 2 hours and 2 beers later. I didn't drink beer like I was going to. I didn't feel like going to the store. I'm assuming I would have had at least 3. I took my time. Stepped outside for a cigarette break a couple times but all in all it was about a 3 hour project for me but it wasn't like it was difficult or anything . Only pictures but everything is pretty organized and labeled although I didn't see any #s on the actual pieces like it shows in the diagrams. Only the screws were labeled. On the cardboard part of the packaging on the back side. I put it together in my living room too. It wasn't supposed to rain today but it's Michigan and I couldn't wait so I put it together in my living room. Without beer but beer would definitely have made it more fun that's for sure. I'm giving this a 5 for easy assembly. I'll update after it stops raining when I can take it out of my living room and cook some food on it. Hope this helps at least for people who think they can't put this together because I did and you can too . And there are extra screws. I got nervous and immediately came here to see if others had the same experience and they have. You're not doing it wrong. There will be extra screws. Be patient. Don't rush it. Drink beer. Happy assembling

      We've done a stand alone review of the APEX you can watch here ua-cam.com/video/6dKqjlmXjIE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SmokedBBQSource. As far as how it compares, it's more expensive than either the Ironwood or Weber, but you get essentailly a gas grill and pellet in one, where as the SmokeFire is a pellet smoker that can sear pretty well.
      A gas grill will always sear better.

    Great video! I'm kind of stuck between a Lonestar and Timberline XL/Ironwood XL right now and since you've got both, you're the right person to ask! How's the smoke profile between the Lonestar and the new Traegers? I know the new Traegers smoke more than the average pellet grill, and I also know Lonestar is the king of smoke. How close are the Traegers to the Lonestar in terms of flavour?
    I can't get a Lonestar in Canada which makes it harder, it would also be more than twice the price for me after exchange. Plus I'd have to drive 48 hours round trip to pick it up lol.

    • @jeffrice78
      @jeffrice78 Рік тому +2

      @@skidoomxz550x there is certainly a smoke production difference. In my studio my exhaust system cannot keep up with the LSG but it can for the most part with the Traeger models. I actually have to pipe the smoke out when I am using the LSG. I have an extension pipe that I connect to it or I would be smoked right out of my studio. When I do catering jobs I leave the garage door open when I run the LSG. I really need to invest into a commercial hood to be able to keep up with that pit. Thanks for watching!

    Thinking about pulling trigger on SmokeFire Sear+ ELX6 Wood Fired Pellet Grill.....$400 off right now. I saw where you said in about 6 months will have a grill that would be awesome - my question is (I Know you can not discuss particulars) will the price point be in the $1200 range or much higher. I can wait on great innovation but not going over this price range or I would just order a LSG.... SmokeFire intrigues me due to being a good grill as well as a smoker. I currently have an OK Joe 900 DLX but buying a new pit. TIA
