@@saikopomp Savathun didn't send him to the Black Garden, he did that of his own accord. But Savathun did take control of Riven after Oryx died and Riven manipulated Uldren into his atrocities in the Reef and leading us into the Dreaming City, which then lead us to wishing the Dreaming City curse into reality when we tried killing Riven. So Savathun was behind Cayde's death, but it was a means to an end (luring us to the Dreaming City).
Nolan North Brought his fucking all in the expansion.......... like goddamn he went all in on this performance. To think once upon a time we went from "That wizard came from the moon" to this is a testament on how much Bungie loves this series
Oh, yeah, it had to be since we know Savathun would want to trick us like that, and how she's also a coward that wouldn't want her Light snuffed out after she gained the power she felt would make her surpass the Witness, Light, and Darkness, while still keeping her true colors from when the Witness tricked her when she was Sathona in order to have the Krill accept the Darkness, and become the Hive.
What I love about Ghost here is he's pointing out how even IF Savathun is one of the Traveler's Chosen, she's a hypocrite because she's spent too much time under the Witness's influence thanks to how she was lied to as Sathona so the Witness could keep the Traveler from gaining powerful allies in the Light, and that she follows the same kind of subterfuge, manipulation, and lies that the Witness has tricked her with in its quest to eliminate *ALL* life in the universe, and how even if she claims to serve the Traveler's "true" interests, she still lied to all those Ghosts she had given to her Knights, Acolytes and Wizards, and we know Fynch saw through her lies which is why he wants to help us, while some of the Ghosts, as we know with Immaru, are *FINE* to serve monsters like the Hive, no matter their tragic circumstances.
Savathun being the hypocrite here is not really true. She is a freaking hero, because guess who stopped the first collapse on her own. She killed Nez, lied to the Witness and hid the Veil. Now tell me at what part is she under the influence here. Because that sounds like all negative points for team Witness. Our Ghost is more of a hypocrite right here. Saying he would never work with someone who is such a cruel monster like the hive. Meanwhile he is best buddy with warlords like Shaxx or guys like us and Saint 14 who killed millions. And the, do you know how many of my ghost friends your species killed-thing, doesn't work because we do the same for the entire campaign. So who is the hypocrite right here?
@@Mia-Bunny we didnt know about the veil at the time shaxx is no longer a warlord and has redeemed himself, savathun is still up to her old tricks guys like us? so you think the guardian is a villain? saint 14 killed enemy combatants in a war we didnt start, he protected his own if we didnt kill the hive ghosts there risen would kill us, so none of what you said works on any level
@@lord_wyran Thank you! @@lord_wyran Oh yeah Shaxx the redeemed Warlord. Have we given Savathun the privilege to redeem herself? I don't think so. For the Saint 14 thing, so its okay to slaughter millions, even children as long as they attacked first? Are you out of your mind? Btw yes Guardians are not really hero's, because hero's don't freaking extinguish other races. We have seen time and time again that our problem solving is literally can we kill it with guns. Season of the haunted shows us real traumatic experience from these characters and we go ahead and shoot it down. If you translate this behavior, it is take a gun and shoot the things that traumatizes you. That is not a good message in the slightest. Or how about season of the splicer, where the community is happy about a death of a mentally ill person. We are not the good guys and thinking so is pretty naive. We play in a dystopian world, that means people like Savathun or Clovis are not the bad guys. We are not good, they are not bad, we should take every opportunity to survive at the end of the day and Savathun was a pretty good chance of survival. If you still think we are the ultimate good in the universe, than please take your sparrow and drive it down a cliff. Only in game, because I don't want you to harm yourself.
@@BryonYoungblood exactly, shes kind of like the opposite of crow. she may be chosen by the light, but her resurrection didnt change her, she only started to change once we exposed the witnesses deceit. honestly my theory is, the witness knew we would either expose what happened and it hoped that would change savathun over time and bring her to our side, hence why it saved her ghost. OR she would beat us and bring the traveler away to safety and now that shes under its influence she couldnt trap it with her magic or the traveler would just take her light
Now that I thinking about it, Savathun moved the Traveler into her throne world while Rhulk was still around... Sometimes, I question the Traveler's choices.
@@void-9572 Yep, and her death only weakened the spell that kept Rhulk locked in his Pyramid. We also can't forget she expected to kill us so easily so she could protect the Traveler in her own twisted way _AND_ just so she could keep the Light for herself and her Lucent Brood.
Yeah, Nolan North _CRUSHED_ it with his delivery of Ghost's anger and pain at Savathun and her believing she and her Ghosts (the ones she and Immaru manipulated to their side most likely due to them being partnerless and wanting to find where they belong, like Fynch) serve the Traveler's "true" intentions.
To be honest, I love how this scene shows that our little Ghost has it's own will, it's own memories, it's own beliefs and perspectives on things. It's not just a pawn of the Traveler, to the point that our own Ghost here is not denying Savathun that the Traveler's will included the Lightbearing Hive, but instead defiantly shouting back that the Hive were murderers and had killed countless allies of ours. He's basically saying he doesn't care if the Traveler chose the Hive because he knows what is right and what the Hive are: warlords and murderers.
Though the hive guardians are like the crow honestly. They don’t have memories savvathun just got to them first. And some lore does show that the hive guardians aren’t as bad as the regular hive. For instance a hive titan refused to crush a guardians ghost and his ghost just let him stay dead when the guardian resurrected. Or a hive guardian that kept on committing suicide every time her ghost tried to revive her . Her ghost was kinda crazy In some ways the hive ghosts are worse than their guardians
Warlords and murderers yeah, that sound like all guardians. Truth is a funny thing, isn't it? But hey having a warlord as our crucible vendor and Saint ''I murderd so much fallen, that they tell scary story's about my mass genocide to their children'' 14 as a great hero in our tower, is a great thing. Good that we work with these people and not the hive, because the hive do the same thing, but they are the hive, so thats not good. You know what call that, xenophobia at it's finest.
@@Mia-Bunny While you have extremely valid points re: the innate hypocrisy of the Lightbearers of Earth and some of our most beloved heroes having done things which are best described as "Not against geneva conventions only bc we don't have geneva anymore", the Hive (though not IMO the lucent brood) is quite literally a faction which is a perfect moral evil--the Witness and the shape of the sword logic explicitly exist to commit omnicide against all things which aren't strong enough to defend themselves from getting omnicided. The Sword Logic represents "a universal law of ultimate fascism" and The Hive all exist worshiping that structure--and there isn't a chance of dissent, because The Hive also all have Worms inside them which feed on that conquest and genocide. The Lucent Brood, though...Savathun no longer has a Worm and has been shown to have worked together with the Traveler since pre-Collapse. The only reason the Guardians are opposed to her is because of bad blood. I'd be shocked if we don't end up in an uneasy alliance with the Brood to take down the Witness for the exact points you're making: Savathun's Lucent Brood is a faction of the Hive which uniquely DOESN'T exist within a Perfect Moral Evil framework. It very much IS more complex than that with them.
@@onewaysaintlaika I agree with you, the normal hive are evil because of your exactly what you are saying. The story of witchqueen was good, don't get me wrong, but the reaction of our faction is so anoying. It was like we want to do a second inquisition, where I just wanted to have dialogue options. i like how he mentions crota a lot of ppl forget that the reason crota was even here was because savathun sabotaged him when he was creating his oversoul, pretty much every single bad thing that has ever happened to destiny up to beyond light was savathun fault, even the red war, if crota was never here, oryx wouldnt come here either, the cabal wouldnt try to attack and they wouldnt send a message directly to the empire
And in turn, Crota's attempt to return to life in The Dark Below is what led us to go after him in the Hellmouth on the Moon, killing him in the end of "Crota's End", which would lead Oryx to Sol, seeking his vengeance as well as changing the game figuratively and literally when he unleashed the Dreadnaught as well as the Taken on us. Even with Savathun's intentions, she still played perfectly into the Witness's hands by doing what she did to Crota as well as Oryx. All while she wanted to be free of the Sword Logic of the Hive and gain power to surpass the Witness. You nailed it for sure, and it's ironic how Savathun failed to see it.
Threadbound debuff... Threadcutter buff... Sources are right. This is when we should have gotten strand. If only the story hadn't been hacked up into separate pieces...
I’m not sure what Savathun was trying to accomplish by talking to the Guardian and his ghost. Her family has literally made life hell for them and their friends. Why would she think they would side with her at all?
Because we began killing her family and friends before? I mean all the problems we have with the hive came essentially from killing Crota. Savathun is pretty reasonable here, I mean she plays her cards right and wants help against a much bigger bad guy. Until that point we didn't even know about the Witness. She goes her own way of helping us and wants to help us and even has a plan. Do we have a plan against the Witness? I don't think we do, except just point a gun at its head and shoot. I would side with Savathun on this one.
@@Mia-Bunny Crota and his brood were the aggressors. They were the ones that came to Sol looking for a fight and they got their butts kicked for it. I don’t think humanity can be blamed for shooting back after what he did. Every time the Hive come to Sol it’s almost always to try and kill humanity off. I don’t think humanity can be blamed for killing Savathun’s family off when they came to Sol to try and force that fate onto them. Apologies here comes my rant. Sure in current lore we the players know what Savathun did for the “greater good” but the Guardians don’t really know that at this point. Plus they don’t have much reason to trust her(I personally still don’t even after knowing what she did). Her family has been attacking humanity for centuries for no good reason. This is also literally after she possessed Osiris and held him hostage over our heads. She just did what she did and expected us to be fine with it? No that’s stupid.

@@SALEENS7GTR5yeah. That sucked. I do wish that we had the choice to have cayde-6 as our ghost now. I mean, it is his light. Would love to have him with me on missions.
The veteran dialogue on the bridge was some of the best lines I’ve heard from destiny in a while
Is this veteran dialogue or is there other dialogue? I'm sadly not on my veteran account
@@kerrrobertson3699 no this is definitely veteran dialogue. As far as I understand new light dialogue doesn’t mention as much
@@DJET723 That's pretty cool - had no idea the dialogue was different for different players.
i'm Happy i got to witness this Roast from ghost as a veteran
A year late, but the dialogue you get depends on what your guardian has experienced. For example, Ghost will only mention crota and the great disaster IF you killed him in D1, same for Oryx. @kerrrobertson3699
This would've hit even harder if ghost also mentioned cayde
Did the hive cause that? I don't remember who was pulling the strings
@@dre160 sort of yeah bro as mara stated in the ending of season of the lost she was responsible. savathun played with uldren by sending him to the black garden and he got pricked by some flower there go check byf for more info on that, but before that he was a well respected and kind person but the flower corrupted him more with byf on that. But yeah savathun caused his downfall specially with the dreaming city and its curse
@@michaelhenry3234 sorry yeah i was hazy on the info which was why I mentioned byf to do the explanation. But thanks for the correction
That should be another dialogue option if you were a hunter that played during Forsaken
Nolan North Brought his fucking all in the expansion.......... like goddamn he went all in on this performance. To think once upon a time we went from "That wizard came from the moon" to this is a testament on how much Bungie loves this series
I wonder if the Darkness zone was dropped at the _specific_ point that would allow you to jump off like that without losing progress on purpose.
Almost definitely lol
Yes it was. They knew that people would jump for the ghost only to be frozen in place and fall to their deaths
@@Mia-Bunny we didnt know about the veil at the time
shaxx is no longer a warlord and has redeemed himself, savathun is still up to her old tricks
guys like us? so you think the guardian is a villain?
saint 14 killed enemy combatants in a war we didnt start, he protected his own
if we didnt kill the hive ghosts there risen would kill us, so none of what you said works on any level
@@lord_wyran Thank you! And I even said in my original comment how Savathun may have been one of the Traveler's Chosen by rights, but she still had so much she picked up from the Witness manipulating her, even before she schemed against it, plus she was up to her old tricks as a way to just help herself, which is why I said besides her aims to protect the Traveler from the Witness, even if it meant everything else would burn, she also wanted to keep the Light for herself and the Lucent Hive she created.
That sentinel shield toss must've been a freaking mic drop for that Ghost chewing her out.
Damn. I think I just picked up a new layer of respect for the ghost.
Love the shield throw to add to Ghosts speech. Very pointed. Good job.
the perfect punctuation, as if the guardian him/herself ended ghosts declaration by saying "BITCH" in a way we all understand lol
Ghost: I would die before I ever serve the hive!!!
Guardian: God Damn Right!!!
"i would die before every helping the hive"
I think that's gonna come back to bite him in the ass.
It didn't
Weeeeell the hive (including savathun) helped us defeat the witness so idk
@@AlecValli And that’s the difference.
They came to help us, instead of we coming to help them. Lol
Now that I thinking about it, Savathun moved the Traveler into her throne world while Rhulk was still around... Sometimes, I question the Traveler's choices.
the traveler is likely significantly stronger than rhulk. also rhulk was stuck in his pyramid for some reason
@@popycorn3005 Rhulk was stuck because of Savathun and the Wellspring.
@@void-9572 Yep, and her death only weakened the spell that kept Rhulk locked in his Pyramid. We also can't forget she expected to kill us so easily so she could protect the Traveler in her own twisted way _AND_ just so she could keep the Light for herself and her Lucent Brood.
little guy put his whole heart into that line delivery
Her ghost was kinda crazy
In some ways the hive ghosts are worse than their guardians
I would have loved to work with Savathun, the possiblity's where this could take us are endless. I just hated to kill her and I let myself get killed at the end just to let her stay alive a little more.

Riven and Xivu Arath plagued the dreaming city and filled it with taken
Oryx destroyed the awoken (except Uldren, Mara and the Techeuns)
i like how he mentions crota a lot of ppl forget that the reason crota was even here was because savathun sabotaged him when he was creating his oversoul, pretty much every single bad thing that has ever happened to destiny up to beyond light was savathun fault, even the red war, if crota was never here, oryx wouldnt come here either, the cabal wouldnt try to attack and they wouldnt send a message directly to the empire

Remember when we had an engaging and entertaining final boss fight 😞
I can never take this voice actor seriously---
