This is a 1983 release of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Vol.1 released by RCA/Columbia Home Video. The episodes contained on this VHS are The Dragon Invasion and Curse of the Spellstone. This uses the original NTSC audio and video duplicated from the 1 inch U-Matic broadcast masters. I'm
I remember this one. I used to rent this VHS back in the 1990S. Before I moved on to DVDS from now on. I like the episode that showed Dragons.

This recording also contains the pilot opening for the series too. Originally broadcast on TV as the opening to the Diamond Ray episode, He-Man states Evil Masters of the Universe instead of sayig Evil forces of Skeletor as in the rest of the TV series.

Did anyone spot the mistake in this episode that has now been fixed. This is the edition with the mistake, can you see it?
I have never heard about it what is the mistake?.
When Skeletor challenges the Sorceress, she first appears as Zoar, then as the Sorceress. Only He Man, Man at Arms, and Orko knew about Zoar's secret. Before the episode aired, the mistake was fixed, and the Sorceress teleports, but not as Zoar.

Why did they change it afterwards
@@kascnefI forget the reason, but I think it was because "Masters of the Universe" was supposed to be all the characters. When the show was created, the MOTU where going to be the villains, but it was changed. I think a couple eps kept the original idea.
@@ClarkeMarek This is basically correct; the original toyline was simply called "Masters of the Universe", and while what that meant was never specified, the implication was indeed meant to be that it encompassed all the characters in the toy-line, with the packaging referring to He-Man and his allies referred to as "Heroic Warriors" while Skeletor and his forces were called "Evil Warriors". Early on in developing the cartoon, the FILMation cartoon was going to change that so that "Masters of the Universe" referred specifically to Skeletor and the "Evil Warrior" characters, presumably so the audience more clearly understood who the "Masters of the Universe" in the title were; early development materials use the term that way, and as we see here there was a version of the intro sequence which used it as well. This VHS release of "The Dragon Invasion" is the only publicly-released episode to use that version, but the idea does also make its way into dialogue in a few early episodes, such as "Colossor Awakens" where Skeletor refers to himself as "Master of the Universe".
