Too bad I can't find this classic album on CD. This was way ahead of it's time. The late Doctor Mattie Moss Clark was on point with those various choirs. Twinkie also doing a lot of arranging. I love this because it's just church.
No need to scream to show how high the voice can go: it goes in a natural manner, not trying to go over the choir. No shaking rythm needed: it hits straight to the bosom. Background vocals just emphasizes the brilliant solo. Well: black gospel at its best. Praise the Lord with our greatest praises, and may He continues to bless Gospel Nostalgia, a piece of cake in gospel channels at UA-cam
I am sitting here in tears, thinking about our choir singing this back in the 80's.. now that I am older and saved I can sing this with an understanding and with the Spirit also.... God Bless you...
I LOOOOOOOOOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!! I WOULD LISTEN TO THIS IN THE LATE LATE HOURS IN THE NIGHT WHEN I WAS S LITTLE KID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TWINKIE WROTE THIS IN HER PRIME AND DR. CLARK VOICE WAS PERFECT FOR THIS SONG!!!! THANKS FOR POSTING!!!!
This is probably the first song I've heard Mattie lead where I've heard her voice very clearly and loudly. Twinkie was and still is hooked on God's crack (as Dorinda would say she is), because who imagines of arranging a choir like this?! She's taking classical music that she and I both learned on the piano and turning that into vocal arias and melismas! God seriously had a covenant over Mattie and her girls after she divorced Elbert Clark.
Thank you so much for posting this song. I have been desiring to hear it and even to teach it to some groups in Europe. Now I can bask in it first and then serve it. :-) Blessings!! Peace.
This TAKE ME Back To the days of sitting up late listening to album over and over.... Singing on the Youth Choir... Don't throw No Shoes... I'll get That Note!!!!!
After "I don't know how many years," this song popped in my head on the way to work this morning 8/9/18! Wow; I am so blessed by God's spirit to remind me in song that indeed, "All is well, because in CHRIST I Dwell!" Thanks for the upload!
My Choir the Vernon Sewell Ensemble in Havre de Grace, Md, sang this song for one of our Anniversaries a long time ago. I did not know it was Dr. Clark singing this song. We spent a lot of time rehearsing this song to get it right but when we sang it the day of our anniversary we shouted after getting right Our vocalist sang like Dr. Clark and the choir just like this.
Mr. Nostalgia, how do you find these?!! Thanks for reminding me of when churches had choirs instead of praise (groups) teams and there was no special effects needed in lighting. Oh, and when families and friends gathered at home for Sunday dinner after church instead of swarming to restaurants. Church has changed with the times, but the Church is not properly addressing the times. Music like this propels me to stay before God in daily consecration. Appreciate you.
OhI love this song and I love her version of I Am Happy Just to Know that I'm His Child. Is there any way you can post that song as well? Thanks for your awesome work here on You Tube.
Go gospel nostalgia, there was an old gospel song about a child who fell from a window and he saw a picture of Jesus at his grandmother's house and said that he was the man who caught him. can you help?
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS SONG!!!! Oh Jesus, this blesses my soul!!!!! Some mass choir needs to bring this song BACK to life!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

This has got to be my all-time Mattie Moss Clark song. I wish that they would remake with Dorinda leading it or sing it at the National convocation.

Beautifully done!!!
This Takes me in!!!!!!!!!!!
Brings back memories
Unbelievable songwriting!
I used to love singing this in the choir at church
I believe it is New St. Paul COGIC out of Detroit.
I didn't know that the Church of God in Christ recorded so many albums.
I have more albums recorded by COGIC more than any other group/denomination.
Cindy B COGIC!!!

Thanks much for your kind words.
Dorinda's adlib was perfectly timed. She sounds just like MMC.
It’s her mom leading the song.
