This is IMO the best version of AC/DC. Its sultry and sexy which was the point of the character, trying to lure peoples' allegiance from the diesel train and the steam train. Beautiful version of the song
Electra sounds like a, "Rock n Roll Train." Powered by, "High Voltage," storming down the rails along the, "Highway to Hell," ringing his, "Hells Bells," doing, "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap." He's a, "Problem Child."
I won't go into debate which version I love simply because I love both for various reasons!!! But, I'd love to play Electra one day, or Rusty, or Greeseball or any male part in this show honestly I'd be happy regardless. I was not too surprised when I learned the puns of this tune but I don't care I'd still belt it out for fun or in an audition. I mean if Tim Curry is secure enough in his masculinity rot belt Sweet Transvestite then anyone can do it to that or this song!!! Plus I like John as a singer this and his Tugger are two of my favorites.
Well I'm in this drama group and I'm Electra he is an amzing role and I am so happy I got him and u do compère yourseft to him and u will get to know him better
Love this song! Especially how he sings it! Thank goodness I got a chance to see this at West end in 1996! Missed the chance as a kid to see it in NY. Well worth the wait!
I'm not even gonna comment on the eargasm that is John Partridge's voice, but I am incredibly intrigued by the voices of Wrench and Volta and equally disappointed that there's no more solo lines by them.
This version of the song is sweet, but I honestly don't like Control's voice here. It just sounds more like one of those voices grown women would use to sound like a young boy rather than an actual young boy.

Agreed, out of all the AC/DC covers, this is the best. Especially when he has the echo during the middle....
When John Partridge was done the mic had a cigarette
Electra's polycule hyping him up

Best version of this song! The guy who sings it also played Rum Tum Tugger in Cats.
Wish there was videos of him playing Electra 😔
John Partridge
He was also in EastEnders
That’s the BEST Version!!! I love Electras Voice here 😍😍😍😍
That voice I can't even

John Partridge, I want to marry your voice.

Electra’s voice is so smooth and he sounds hot
Electra is cool
Electra is hot
Casey Falcon
Cool
Hot
A Megastar, a Megawatt
That's John Partridge, I think. He also played rum Tum Tugger in "Cats" and I loved him there too. His voice is really cool.
@@Seabass-fi9wg rich, hot, powerful
Oh my God it's John Partridge!
I'm not even gonna comment on the eargasm that is John Partridge's voice, but I am incredibly intrigued by the voices of Wrench and Volta and equally disappointed that there's no more solo lines by them.
Love this! To me, a very sexy song, even though I didn't think so when I was 12 and first listened to it.
very great Electra! buitiful voice
John Partridge is just beautiful
I swear if I ever meet John Partridge in real life... I'll ask him to sing this song for me... and probably drool all over.. X3
WAIT IS THIS JOHN PARTRIDGE??!!
@@nekomarustoes4865 YES
You know he has his own album, right?
There is nothing I can say about Johnny partridge that wouldn't be completely disrespectful to say out loud! 😉 I would wreck this man😍
Can't believe there's no video footage of John Partridge as Electra. Gutted! He was AMAZING in Cats. Bet he was so sexy singing this! 😍
agreed!
I have been mad about this everyday for several years! I can only imagine how amazing he would have been!
Yes! He nailed it as Rum Tum Tugger!
There is now 🥰
omg! ur RIGHT! he sounds sooooo hot! it melts ur heart!
Love this song! I think that this version of the musical is definetely better than the original!
It’s definitely better in terms of sound and the songs are less slow. This was the first version I ever saw, so I may be a tad biased 😆
I love this musical! My fav song. Dream of my failed career lol
The minute is heard "resistance is pointless" my Star Trek nerd mind autocorrected to "resistance is futile."
I think I need help.
Same
I knew it heard it somewhere
Love John partridge! Met him before one of the shows :)
No way!!! Lucky!!!
John Partridge
i think this song is pretty good and i dont realy like musicals but i have to say that this is a great one
Thomas the Tank Engine ran into Electra one dark night and was never the same again.
Was Thomas "turned on" then?
@@davidwiddowson8890 sleep with one eye open for the next two weeks
When I was a kid I thought it was just about an electric train, & years later discovered it was about bi-sexuality . . . I felt rather silly lol
I am 22 and i still thought that... omg you blew my mind. I mean it is a kids dream :D
I mean Pumping Iron is pretty much a gay anthem, so why not have the bisexual anthem
lmaooo fr? i knew they acted a bit different
It is about both- there is a meaning for kids and a meaning for adults.
Best version in my opinion! 💗
This was the cast when I saw it in London!
it's about both. that's the thing about puns.
Personally, I prefer the old version. But this one is neat too.
@riderj123 John has the most gorgeous voice than any other bloke such as John Barrowman I've ever listened to.
i hate the way the autotune on electra sounds but i think "HE'S GOT A GUN" is so fuckin funny
Everyone is like "Omg this song is about being Bi/Pan!"
Anyone else think it was also about being gender-fluid?😅
its meant to be both, according to Weber.
I got cast as Electra!!! :D
I love john partridge
I am doing a dance to this in roller skates!! #like a boss
Starlight Express is the Only stage musical that uses Roller Skates
Alexander Ip lmao I commented that 6 years ago
Oh wow also just learned that I've been listening for a song about being bi since I was 5.
My friend just got the part of Electra :D
Are we just not going to talk about "HE'S GOT A GUN!"?
Wow!
Omg,saw this today Lewis Lockwood was brilliant as Electra! Well done ThePawsUpMonster! =D
ThePawsUpMonster is gonna be awesome at this! :D
I love John Partridge, Michael Skyers, Samantha Biddulph, Rebecca Holland, C. Jay Ranger, and Marco Ferraro.
Is it just me or at 2:18 does Electra sound like he's saying "set you on Fiowa"
This version of the song by John Partridge, who's now in Eastenders, playing Christian
I do like this one better
It's about being bi!? I'm 23 and just found that out from you lmao Imagine how dumb I feel
Funnily I get so many George Michael vibes from this song.
Here I am, thanks to the CD I found in the box I took from my English neighbor's garage
It's both. The Electra in the MK production was definitely swinging both ways!
I wonder what effect the pitch-shifted bits would have in this day and age?
Josh Freilich Autotune comes to mind.
That's a good one... Could we add flanger to it as well?
Best Electra in my opinion 🥰
It’s a close call between him and Mykal Rand for me. Both were awesome! 🥰
Perfect AMV song for Denki Kaminari of My Hero Academia.
The 90s version removed all the amazing power of the original 80s production.
I agree. It's no longer on the internet. I rember the record (over 25 years ago.)
Could some studio produce this broadway show in to a movie
ya i just recently figured that out...but i dont really get it...like i dont understand what that has to do with electra..or whatever.
im playing Electra at my theater!!!!
I got Buffy xx
mind = blown
Which train is your favorite? Steam, diesel or electric?
Electric! 🥰
00:36 did he say i am poops.
Purse
Electra's money truck is named Purse (ya get it?)
very... :)
This song is cool but why does he start moaning near the end
Because it's Electra.
please explain
whoot
This version of the song is sweet, but I honestly don't like Control's voice here. It just sounds more like one of those voices grown women would use to sound like a young boy rather than an actual young boy.
:( das no bueno y it sound like that?
Ugh, this is just horrible compared to the original version.
Yes I prefer the original!
This sounds horrible compared to other versions I've heard.
