Fake blood recipe video - • How To : Fake Blood Re...
If you don't want to buy the scar wax you can make it from Vaseline and flour ( twice as much flour than Vaseline) :)
thank you :)
it is super easy to make yourself!
how long does it last? can i make it and keep it for months?
542pixie1 I have only made small batches at a time that I would use with in a couple of weeks. so I can't actually tell you how long it would last sorry :/
Evie Willox can u do the scar wax without latex
I use flour and lotion cuz I don’t have vaseline
How to make them:
Scar wax: Vaseline, flour.
Fake blood: edible= honey, food dye.
Liquid latex: white school glue
And yeah :)
All great options!
You can also use glucose syrup instead of honey as it is clear :)
Also be careful with food colours as they can stain. Highly recommend patch testing the fake blood mix to see if it stains :)
Always make sure products that you are putting on your skin is non toxic and do a small patch test before using for a look 😊
I recommend the brand Nigel for the latex. It has a weak smell to it, so it won't make you want to rip out your nostrils.
I haven't been able to get my hands on any Nigel brand latex but i have heard great things about it :)
I love sfx makeup! My school often does Injury day during spirit week and I did a black eye once and I was in 5th grade so it was bad, but teachers thought it was real!
Oh how fun! That’s very impressive :)
This is helpful! I've wanted to get into sfx makeup for awhile, and I thought my Halloween party is a perfect way to start!
sarah tislevoll thanks! Good luck with your sfx journey :)
For the fake blood in wounds, I've used a mix of various red lipsticks and red lip gloss. To get the chunky congealed bits, mix some black creme face paint in with either your fake blood or lipgloss and apply as needed. It probably won't last as long as the stuff you buy but it's good for a few hours.
Ohh that’s such a good idea! When I first started out I used red lipstick all the time ❤️
Rachel Rodgers yes that is useful
Wow! Thank you so much!! I am starting out and I am only ten years old. This has definitely helped me heaps!! I also live in Australia and I too live quite close to Scotty's so I hope to go there soon to get a few of the things that I need. Thank you!!!!!!!❤️

Can’t say I didn’t start at ten either-

Great video. It was very helpful!
thank you :)
Just started mine just for the fact of one day a year i can't use latex so I'm going to make silicone moulds so that I can make my own silicone ones as I can't get along with scar wax or gelatine lol I also bought a couple of alcohol activated palettes that only have about 5 shades in as majority of the big alcohol palettes the shades won't be used lol so far I have rigid colodian, fake blood , some cream paint ,an air brush and some brushes
is the music really loud for everyone else? it was really hard to hear her
kinda-
Kind of
i can barely hear her-
Lol i hear her voice louder.
first off I subscribed and then I liked then I watched the video 😊 BTW I'm new to your channel and I already love it!❤
Thanks :) means a lot x
thx this was really helpful
thank you :) i am glad you found it helpful!
thank you for this video I a newbie and I really need thus
i am glad you liked it! :)
The brushes are useful for latex if you're using it for a big area,
Bella Marietta you can always use brushes with latex, it is all personal preference. I just don't like using brushes as latex will ruin the brush :)
what stuff do i need in case the side effects dosn;t work and breaks my skin out becouse i'm allergic to latex i;m et that stuff when i ever get it
subscribed thank you so much x
No thank you :) x
very helpful :) thanks
i am glad you thought so :) thankyou!
Hi! I am just beginning in SFX and I am looking at buying one of the Ben Nye colour wheels. I have narrowed it down to either the zombie one or the bruise one. Which one would you suggest? I am thinking the bruise and abrasions one may have a bit more potential? Thanks for the awesome video!
Hi Georgie :)
Both colour wheels are good but they both serve very different purposes! So it really depends what you are wanting it for. If you were wanting it for cuts/bruises/abrasions and that kind of SFX stuff then the bruise wheel is the way to go!
I would say that i have used my bruise wheel more that i have used my Zombie wheel :)
I hope that was some help to you!
Would love to see any of your creation, so feel free to tag me on instagram :)
Hi! I don’t really think the sculpting tools are too necessary, you can use the end of a brush or the sculpting tool that usually comes with the wax. Or you can use your fingers! But using petroleum jelly over the wax makes it a a lot easier to use!
You are correct in saying they aren’t necessary! You can of course use what you have hanging around. It does make sculpting easier having a set of sculpting tools :)
These tools only cost me I think $5ish so they are pretty cheap beginners!
I started sfx yesterday or so and I made my own fake blood and scar wax
+Lara Jade great effort! How did it turn out? :)
Actually it turned out pretty well
Awesome
Thanks :)
Great video :) I think I have most of the stuff you mentioned in your kit :D I would love to ry out a video like this on my channel soon too :D
KOSMICKRISTEN let me know if you do I'd love to check it out! :) thanks a bunch!
Thankyou sooooo much Xx subscribed
Thankyou you are the best :)
Evie Willox np it helps sooo much and your Australian too !
I sure am! Happy to help ❤️
I enjoyed !! yea actually i did.. you have no idea about how much your video helped me :) thank you very much.. and by the way, do you have snapchat to teach special effects or something?
i love hearing that i have helped you :)
at the moment i only have a youtube channel to show you my special effects techniques!
do you think it would be worth my time getting snapchat or periscope? or something along the lines of that? :)
Can you use water to help smooth the scar wax instead of moisturizer and such like that?
I have never tried water, however as water doesn't stick to wax i would imagine that it probably wouldn't work as the water would roll right off the wax. Sorry if that was no help!
If you try it out thought it me know how you go :)
Evie Willox Okay I will try to remember that! Thank you!
Evie Willox Hello again! What kind of Vaseline do you use?
It is the Brand Vaseline. But any Petroleum Jelly will should work :)
Evie Willox Thank you again!
What was the brand you used for face paint? Thanks for the help! :)
I use the brand Mont Marte! I have also started using the brand Wolfe FX too however they are more pricey than Mont Marte :)
Subscribed!
Thanks :)
you are the best!
The only thing I had was baking powder dose that work?
What will you be using it for ? :)
The brand Nigels has latex that doesn't smell at all.
i havent been able to get my hands on some in Australia. ill have to keep trying though :) thanks
What can you use instead of liquid latex
depends what you are wanting to use it for. if it is for building prosthetics you can use SFX Gelatin or 3rd degree , however if you are using it as an adhesive you can find plenty of latex free adhesives at special effects store eg. spirit gum and pros aide adhesive :)
I have scar wax but it's extremely sticky *I bought it from Amazon*
What if one may be allergic to latex?
I am really not sure on a latex alternatives that would be as cheap as latex.
If you are wanting something to replace it as an adhesive you could try spirit gum or pros aide! (which are both reasonably cheap and easy to get)
However if you are wanting something to replace it as a building medium (something to create prosthetics with) the only other suggestions i'd have would be a sfx gelatin mix (which is cheap and easy to get your hands on, i have a video series on how to make it) it is very different to latex though, or a silicon based modelling medium ( like 3rd degree) it is however quiet pricey!
i hope that was some help. if you have any more questions feel free to ask :)
If you live in Sydney, do you know any good sfx makeup stores where I can get some good sfx makeup? Thanks!
I don't live in Sydney sorry however i know that Scotty's Make-up does have a store in Sydney!
So i would suggest that they would be your best bet :)
I hope that was some help!
I already go there, but thanks for you're help. :)
Btw love your channel
Oh i don't really know many other SFX stores, there aren't a lot ha :)
Have you tried Barnes? i think they have a store in Sydney somewhere?
Thankyou
Ok, ill see if they have a store in Sydney. Thanks for the help
ok for your huge thing of scar wax its 16 oz
Yes it is 16oz :)
Hi, i hav a small question, and maybe it's kinda stupid, but i have really, REALLY sensitive skin, and i can use just a few types of makeup. Can i still use stuff like latex etc. anyway?
Not a stupid question at all :) I would be careful with latex if you have sensitive skin! I highly recommend if you are wanting to try it to buy a small amount and patch test it first! As for other sfx products I would recommend doing the same!
@@EvieWilloxSFX Thank you so much, i finally asked many people who work with sfx but no one told me a direct answer. Thank uuu
Happy I could help ❤️
I'm literally 11 and I use watercolor and it works😂
Just be careful that the watercolours you are using are non toxic and don’t stain and I’m sure they work well :)
@@EvieWilloxSFX I'm not sure if it's non toxic but it's been in my mouth and I'm fine 😃
So if I’m just starting out would amazon work to buy supplies?
You should be able to find a lot these products on Amazon :)
Okay thank you
hello! I know I'm kinda late but can I use some makeup brushes for the time being?
You sure can :) it just depends what you are using them for! because if you are using them for latex you wont be able to use them again. if you are using them for other products just make sure you clean them well before and after use so you can keep using them :) i hope that was helpful!
+Evie Willox that was very helpful, what tools do you recommend for using latex? and for like nose and scar wax could I use them?
I would recommend using cotton tips for latex or just something that is disposable :) if you are just using it to colour the top of nose and scar wax you definitely can!
+Evie Willox thank you so much! I wasn't sure what I needed to use. and one last question and then I won't bother you anymore, to color nose and scar wax to my skin tone do I HAVE to use foundation? or can I use powder? I don't have any foundation
You aren't bothering me at all i am more than happy to answer any questions you have so don't feel like you are bothering me :) if you are making your own nose and scar wax ( as in the video i have) then you need liquid foundation :) if you are buying some e.g. (ben nye) it is easier to try and colour match it with coats of foundation on top of it. (i have only used liquid so i am not sure how powder would work) :)
I now colour match (by applying coats on top) the scar wax with alcohol activated colours, but liquid foundation should work just fine to start with! There is a possibility however that the scar wax may be the correct colour for your skin and you wont need to worry about colouring it!
Good luck with all of your creations! I would love to see your looks so feel free to tag me on instagram :)
You didn’t put the link to homemade recipe blood 😖❤️
Sorry :) ill link it now!
Evie Willox cool thank you :)!!
I have put it in the description but here is the link also :) ua-cam.com/video/NBIrjdr3tmk/v-deo.html
What do you use latex for
It can be used for a lot of things! I mainly use it for making prosthetics though :) if you mix it with flour you get a nice thick paste which is great for prosthetics (ellimacs have a great tutorial on it) as well as I use it to create thin layers on the skin so you can make simple wounds :)
Evie Willox ok thankyou !!! I really want to learn how to do sfx makeup !
Georgie Sews happy to help with any questions you might have :)
Not hate but in my opinion scar wax is the devil and latex is the absolute best for me at least it's very hard for me to use nose and scar wax there is definitely a reason why my burn look on my channel is used with latex
i like latex, however it absolutely stinks and can be a pain to get off! scar wax can be hard to work with too. it is just that i find scar wax easier to use to get a more dramatic effect :)
is your nose and scar wax 16 oz
Yes it is the 16 oz Ben Nye Nose and Scar Wax :)
I see that you’re a ben nye fan
CatGunDepot do love Ben nye! They are reasonably priced, and are easy to get your hands on. Perfect for starting out :)
You didn’t tell us what those “Bad boys” were.
Excellent video... Fantastic...
Note: Your background noise/music was a little too loud, making it hard to Hear you.
No need for background music... WE just want to HEAR YOU TALK...
Thank you so much for a great video.
Anyone else's keep pausing? Love the video though x
Rhiannon May yup! It’s for everyone
You fucking kidding Ben nye? Scar wax that shit costs 80 bucks
Luis List I guess it depends where you are, that large tub cost me just under $40 Australian. I however am not implying that you need a tub that big to start with, Ben Nye also had smaller tubs around the $10 mark. I do also have a video on how to make your own scar wax if you can't afford/find the proper scar wax! :)
Luis List
In USA I got the biggest container of it for only $15 US
got mine for $38 AUS. which is quite pricy for a beginner, however the smaller container only $8 AUS which is a lot more affordable for a beginner :)
I am a professional sfx and the stuff she uses is very cheap would not recommend
Not many beginner sfx artists can afford expensive products. That is why I recommend starting with the cheaper basic items. I understand that not everyone is going to agree with all the products I suggested, how ever I still use many of these items in the looks I create and have never had any problems with them. What items in particular do you not like?
