When the emperor told her she was pregnant, the first person she looked to was Rongpei for confirmation, and then the physician for an explanation. Even in between the emperors interjection, she doesn’t interact with the emperor much before turning to the physician again. It’s a subtle detail, but really telling of how she’s beginning to feel about Hongli.

He was so blinded by greed that he never hesitated to get whatever he wants even when it hurts so many people and in the end even himself.

He constantly invalidates his Womens feelings and uses emotional manipulation by saying “don’t be upset or the child your carrying will be unhappy and suffer to”. Instead of recognizing that his actions hurt her feelings and by his own logic; he harmed the child to by making the mother suffer being compromised!!!! He never accepts his part!!!
