Easier way is to draw line parallel to slanted line from lower left corner of the square to the right until it intersects top of square extended. This line will be 5 long inside the square & 5 long outside the square. Intersection of this line on right vertical side of square is halfway up. 5² = X² + (X/2)². X² = 20. Area = 20.
