So many times I have wanted those options in a recipe but have had to guestimate and no guarantee of success. Different ingredient options is also great because sometimes you really need them so you aren't constantly buying new ingredients that won't necessarily get used often. Ok hear me out. I made this recipe and added a tiny pinch of lemon zest to the batter. Then for the filling hear me out… I added Dulce de leche. Then I made a very light cream cheese with lemon zest frosting. I want to tell you that everyone is requesting me to make this cake for every birthday coming up. It was very delicious if I do say so myself. 😊

I’ve seen “tv chefs” just scoop out the flour and not seemingly worried about accidentally using more flour; not sure when I started, but I fluff my flour with a fork and then put it in my measuring cups - somewhere, I have a plastic fork with only three tines….my flour fluffer 😂 - then I invested in a digital scale, but the three tine fork is still used. The cake looks yummmylicious!

Love the cake, but curious about a couple of things. when you measure out the powdered sugar, the measuring cup is way more generous than level, as per the flour needs to be level measure. and in the frosting, you want the most white you can get but then use dark vanilla instead of clear. Could you explain please? Thanks!
