  • The optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an optical measuring process suitable for supervising laser welding processes. OCT monitoring permits a precise and dynamic control before, during, and after the welding process. More details on the technical setup of an OCT system are explained in the video.
OCT-based edge tracking makes it possible to guide the laser beam continuously with precision on the component. The component geometry and position are recorded and the position of the laser beam can be adjusted for a precise seam tracking in a few milliseconds immediately before the real laser welding process (Pre-Process).
Discover all benefits of the Blackbird OCT Seam Tracking solution in the video:
    - Reliable edge tracking
    - Large scan volume
    - 3D edge tracking independent of scanner movement
    - Detection of interfering geometries
    - Gap detection and process control
