    What I did on my trauma bag is I took that sharpie and I put it on a zipper and hocked the quick release cap onto the zipper so if I need to access it quickly then I can just yank it off. Great kit! Interesting items in it!

    Note- We used the Sharpy and wrote directly on our casualties, this way it doesn't get lost during Exfil. Use a "T" on the forehead if you apply a tourniquet as well as on the extremity, also mark name, age, blood type, and a quick set of vitals if you have the time to do that. The more info the better. Don't forget to let the transport unit know you have written the info on the extremity so they can pass that on at the ED.

      We had to to do some of those things during mass causality training but not the vitals,blood type.

      @@SONofLIBERTY Yup, like I said if you have the time go ahead and put that info in, this will better help the casualty/Patient make it to the end of day especially during a Mascal when the receiving facilities can better treat the person.

    I have enjoyed watching your IFAK and trauma kit videos. You gave me some great ideas to elevate my first aid kits from covering moderate injuries towards more traumatic ones. I have three suggestions. Carry a couple of honey packets for diabetics (you can get them at Popeyes with their biscuits). It can be swabbed along their cheeks and gums if they aren't with it enough to safely chew food or swallow sweet liquid (assuming those are around). Another great tools is a folding compact mirror with magnifying mirror to get eyelashes or debris out of your eyes. I also carry a few 3x5 cards in a 4x6 ziploc style bag, along with a pencil that I can resharpen with my knife in case I need to write details down or a note. And like your epi-pen, I carry an inhaler in every bag (and rotate by expiration date).

      BattMom4 thank you. Yeah I'm always changing my bag up as I learn more things or get great suggestions from viewers like you. This was one of my earlier videos and my channel has come along way since then. This medical bag was actually stolen and I had to start all over from scratch. What my new bag looks like is in my video "PREPPING YOUR TRUCK Part 3". It's just a glance but I'll eventually do a review. I also give you a glimpse at my "mobile hospital" in my "advanced IFAK" video. I normally carry Glucose tablets now for people who are diabetic. And your absolutely right about paper and pen. I carry a small notebook and a really good pen in my bag and I have used it more times for emergencies then probably anything else to date. I was a first responder to a guy who put his car through a telephone pole. They're were wires on the ground so I couldn't get too close and/or touch the car. But his window was down and he was able to speak. I took down all of his information and contacted a family member for the gentleman. When the police and fire department got there I handed over all the critical information (name, address, allergies, medical conditions, critical medication list), that they needed and got out of there so I could let those guys do their job. The officer was extremely grateful for the information and it saved him critical Time

    fabulous bag, bro - I also added toothcarematerials, emergency filling, lido and xylocaine, with special needles and sirenges for local anasthaetics to pull teeth, and special dentist gear to pull teeth. Other then that, excellent work - again. Thanks for sharing! Oh and PS - indeed - it is very smart to always check if people have allergies for asperin, but also latex etc. Great work bro!

      Mel Ville Question? are you a dentist? The reason I ask is because I am interested in learning what things I need for that type of care in a long term situation. Have any lists put together or anything of the sort? Thanks again for watching.

    • @melville8203
      @melville8203 9 років тому

      not a dentist no - I am planning to make a video myself but frankly have no ide ahow that works with cam, youtube and so on. There are sites where you can order materials. Asking your dentist about the basics helps too. Also check videos on YT about how to do anaesthetics etc

    Nice kit. You did mention Voodoo Tactical, but what model bag is that?
    Secondly, where do you get the smaller road flares? those are way cool.

    • @SONofLIBERTY
      @SONofLIBERTY  7 років тому

      Andrew Bieger the road flares I got at the guns shows. Mostly from military style vendors. As for the bag it's self I bought it at a gun show from a voo doo dealer. It was just listed a pistol/range bag.

    Good video I just found your channel you have alot of helpful info. Good idea on keeping the sharpie on hand incase you need to take notes. Instead of sharpies have you thought about the water proof pen&paper set?

    • @SONofLIBERTY
      @SONofLIBERTY  8 років тому

      Yeah that's how I ran it for awhile but I like the sharpies better because I can write on just about anything, car doors, patients, etc. I miss this bag so much. It was stolen last year so I had to start over from scratch.

    Nice video! That’s great that you have such a variety of stuff. Do you only have 1 hyfin chest seal in yours? I have 2 in my ifak ( more like a jump bag) for an entry and an exit wound. If not it’s worth investing in having a few! Hope you get to help some people 👍🏻

      I used to work on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. I saw the zipper pull for sale at a recent airshow and had to have it. I thought it would be great on my bag for ease of access.

    If you go on a website called mountain side medical you can get big bottles of normal saline and sterile water in the big plastic pour bottles . That small one in the video won't irrigate jack shit no offense . And this website sells saline and water both sterile for irrigation. With out a prescription because the fda regulates some companies .
