Because this is fun to them/basically the meaning of their lives. Border collies, even as house pets, will instinctively 'herd' gatherings of kids, other dogs and all sorts of stuff. Its hard-wired in them to love this stuff. Its the same principle as generic hunting; yea dogs dont need a salary for being used as hunting dogs because hunting is the secret wet dream or central evolutionary fantasy of any doggie big or small. Its amazing imo.Imagine living one hundred percent in accordance with a singular desire of yours. These animals are lucky, we're the unfortunate ones for working full time jobs so we can pay to get by instead of just loving every moment of every day because you get to do what you're meant to do.

This is exactly what my fiance and I have talked about (in fun) regarding our 3 dogs. His Labrador is shy and submissive. But she's 85 pounds and has a huge bark. My Boxer/Great Pyrenees is bold and protective. He's a big boy, too, though he's not fully grown. But he's my service dog. So I don't want him to stray far from me. He will definitely posture and bark and growl. And he'd leave my side to guard if I asked him to. But I prefer him by me. Our third dog is a Black Mouth Curr mix. She's a puppy still, but she's absolutely fearless. She's very bold and assertive already. From her size already she will probably be fairly large too. And there will be no stopping her from charging out to warn the intruder that ... she has a big brother and a big sister behind her. 😂
Its better then people being forced to actively exterminate them. man and wolf have been living side by side for thousands of years. More ranch owners need to get livestock guardian dogs and get back to the more sustainable way of ranching our forefathers did.
¡Es sorprendente cómo los perros pueden proteger a los rebaños de los lobos, demostrando su increíble lealtad y valentía! ¡Estos guardianes no se echan atrás cuando se trata de mantener a salvo a su ganado! 🐕🐺
Had to do with one of these unintentionally. I was visiting a friend on her farm. On arrival, I was greeted very friendly from one of the big guys, while my friend came out of the house to welcome me. .. So far so good. But when I wanted to leave and got out of the house and my friend was not beside me, that big dog fellow decided, that I was not allowed to leave... The way to my car was blocked. 10 feet away from the car..no problem... 8 feet ... kind of a growling and a look like "dont try it". 6 feet away..."you really should not get any closer".. So, I waited... five minutes...the dog did not move an inch.. and I had to call my friend..she came.."Oh, I forgot, sorry.... :)" Then the dog let me open the door of my car an I could drive away.
A peaceful moment for this kind of situation, but there are also instances where the packs will fight it out with the guard dogs, and the result is a stark reminder of how savage the wild world is - it's a really brutal and gut wrenching result. These canines are either being put in harms way to protect our resources, or they are fighting against starvation every day - please respect them and respect nature.
Wolves: We could kill you. Dog: You could. But it’ll cost you. At least one, I promise you that. Would you sacrifice one a you to fill your bellies? If so, mighta well jus’ pick that one now and eat ‘em.
I thought dominant, fearless and ruthless dogs like Beaucerons would be the only reliable solution to manage a tense situation like this. But the expert says wimps are useful too, to sound the alarm. 😂 Quite enlightening.
Os cães são extraordinários!! Os cães carregam ADN dos lobos e talvez haja comunicação entre ambas as espécies parentescas?!! Não será esta uma boa solução ...para evitar a lei da bala contra os majestosos lobos?!?
Wolves like dogs are pack animals and that's the important thing to realize. Wolves and dogs are the same thing at the end of the day. The dogs are defending a territory just like the wolves would be doing in the wild if the situation were reversed. Like always animals tend to avoid conflict if possible unless mating to some degree is involved. A dog can scare off a bear in the same way but things can change especially as we humans encroach on wild predators borders and they become accustomed to us and our pets. At that point the innate fear is gone and in case of polar bears, even humans are on the menu.
Depends on the species/size of wolf and the numbers each group has, I think. Bigger wolves could brute force a sheep or two from a bunch of guard dogs but not without risk. The reward of eating has to be greater than the risk of getting injured and impeding future hunting. Not to mention, if they're desperate, that means they're starving; and if they're starving, that means they're weak.
Bueno, los lobos también tiene derecho a comer, si los seres humanos se apropian de sus terrenos con la ganadería es completamente su culpa. Eso sí, si los lobos se empiezan a extinguir, ahí todos estan chillando por su desaparición. Patéticos.
Being chased and ripped apart takes time, just listen to the girl who called her mum begging for help as she was being eaten by a bear…I rescue sheep by the way, I just think the point is r-worded.

They don't need money, recognition or rewards, they just do their jobs and if u treat them good they are happy.

I’m not sure if it is quite that straightforward

The mighty four-legged warriors. The true protectors of the flock will stay and fight to the last breath for their flock. God bless them🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

The BBC kills it with their clips, they're always awesome.
just imagine how it would feel as a sheep in the wild at night without these "loud sheep" around!
pretty scary

Must be sad for the wolves to see a whole buffet they can’t eat
A bit like homeless people in the Philippines

This reminds me of that one video about a livestock dog having a conversation with wolves.
"No monsters here. Just some poor critters"
These are a wonderful dog breed!❤

Cute Dogs😘😘🐶!
They going to want to owe me $trillion today 🌛💫👋 thanks
I wanna pet the puppy.
0:29 is that a Moon? AI generated?
You idiots think that everything is AI generated. It's the real Moon!
They are professional photographers using special cameras capable of focusing on distant objects. The moon looks big because of perspective distortion
@@Mitoskeyso a timelapse then?

They need to observe RavensTree Ranch LGDs. One on perimeter, one with herd, one in between. Oh, and having a cat or alpaca on Recon helps!
Go to Turkey, Armenia, Afghanistan or anywhere else in that region of the world to see how dogs protect their flocks. Been doing it for millenia.
There so brave. even my chihuahua can't scare off a cat🤣🤣
ofc it cant, its tiny
Interessantes Video. Gruss Jürgen 🤠
Now show us the cute little wolf puppies, that are starving to death because they have nothing to eat.
Where are we? France, Spain, Italy?
😂😂😂
"We're hungry"
Sooner or later the wolves are going to figure out "OK, you go to the north side and get them to chase you, then we'll go south and grab lunch."
Dinner bells?
The dogs would kill the wolves, if necessary
Paw Patrol when they retired
The dogs did a good job, but if I feel like if wolves were desperate enough, they’d eat the both the dog and the sheep.
Eh, a Pyrenees dog would tear up an Asiatic wolf in a 1v1, but a group of them or a North American wolf would be a problem.

You underestimate dogs
You don't know much about these breeds, don't you? These are not your normal house dogs, they are made for this…

wolf populations are maintained too though . many times wolves will kill many sheep and not eat them at all .
To sheep there is no difference, either eaten by wolf or consumed by the human
Length and quality of life...
Ya man no difference. Being slowly mauled to death by a pack of wolves or humanely killed within two seconds by a prod. Ya man no difference at all.
Being chased and ripped apart takes time, just listen to the girl who called her mum begging for help as she was being eaten by a bear…I rescue sheep by the way, I just think the point is r-worded.
You are wrong
Horrible editing…ruined great footage.
if i had a big flock of sheep, i would let the wolves get one sheep bc i wouldn't want them to starve lol
You wouldn't have many sheep left by the end of the year!
then the wolves will learn that your farm is a place to get an easy meal. I hope you don't mind them coming by every couple days for another one lol
but the poor wolves... 🥺
