Now thats what we are talking about sonny Jim ....good looking Timber work in there ....interesting drill pattern , didn't see a burn cut. Now time to bring in the Eimco 12b looking real good , was hoping you would explain the drill pattern used and the delays for throwing the much out ....keep'em coming and can't wait for your first pour
Yeah I was hoping to hear their set but had to rewind and get a close look at their pattern. But the drilling wasn't video'd so maybe next we'll get their thoughts👍
I was confused at first when you showed the smoke from the wildfires, since I watch the video before reading the description. As far as I know the only current wildfire in California is the Colorado fire down by Big Sur. Then I figured that this footage must be 4 to 6 months old. Then you said it was summer and it made more sense. --- Setting the charges reminded me that after my grandfather passed on in 1968 I went into his garage and picked out a small token to remember him by. I carried it in my pants pocket with keys, coins, pocket knives, etc. till the early 1980s. Then I learned that all those years I had been carrying a blasting cap in my pocket.
That could have resulted in you being the last of your family line. Not going to lie, I laughed to read this. Sounds like the female soldier bringing back a cluster bomblet to the barracks in the first Gulf War and killed herself and a few others when it rolled off the table and detonated.
I sure like this series bringing the old mill back to life Justin! Stay safe and continuing my prayers for you and all affected by what is going on in your life my friend!
Excellent drilling and setting the timing of the fuses makes a great pull and workable muck pile. Great memories for me and my time at Magma Copper San Manuel Mine in Arizona. Of course, we used a drill jumbo and electric blasting caps, followed by a mechanized mucker that dumped directly into the muck cars. A battery motor (Goodman) pulled the cars out to the rotary dump. Keep these videos coming; you're helping me re-live my youth in the early 70'.
Justin, I love this series on reviving this mine! You do a great Job! You should try and get Discovery or someone like that to make this adventure into a series and bring some money into this project. I hope you are getting through the issues on the home front. Stay well and keep up the great work! Mel the Ice Man. Acton, CA Home of the Governor mine.
What a thrill! I've seen zillions of videos of old mine exploration, detecting with metal detectors, river dredging, placer mining, alluvial mining, but this is the first time I've gotten to see the startup of a deep mine, including all the work that goes into it. I appreciate you taking the time to video and narrate the process. Thanks!
Your channel is one of my favorites. After the rough time you've had this past year I hope you need that ore cart to haul out the gold you get. Best of luck to you..
I know the content of these videos is a bit outdated now, but I'm happy to see them! It means that you are recovering from a very difficult time. Time heals all wounds, in my opinion. That doesn't mean there won't be scars, but the raw injury heals eventually.
Amazing!!! FINALY, I get to see the results of blasting. I have always wanted to see the before and after of proper mine blasts. Excellent job gentlemen.
What a awesome project to do mate and to get the mine running again step by step and that blast was huge for sure and quite alot of hard graft gone into it :). Take it steady in there bro and can't wait to see it finished 🙏
Pretty cool to see a modern mining operation. Not much has changed, just the tools and expectations 😁 Hope you’re doing well. Take care till the next one.
This series is awesome we are about to open up a couple mines in Colorado. It's really cool to see what I'm going to have to do here in a couple months
Fascinating thanks for sharing all this with us. Spent around 8 years underground in the coal so this is great fun for me to watch. Conventional mining. I worked in continuous miner development and pillar sections. Ran miners, roof bolsters, shuttle cars, loved it underground. Except for the low seam sections 48” floor to top. Nothing moved fast in low seams. GT
AWESOME!! This day has been a long time comin!! Yall have done an amazing job and so glad we could be a part of it. Hopefully we'll be able to get out that way and help yall out. As always stay safe out there
That pulled GOOD! We kept having issues with rounds booting; eventually the superintendent got his old air track drill and drilled about a 3" hole straight down the centerline of the future drift. It acts as a ready-made burn cut and pulls like crazy; the last shot at that mine got 14' with 6' holes. Something to ponder for you.
I've known how this all works but I've always wanted to actually see it done. Very informative! I was honestly surprised by the appearance of the blast pile. I guess I had always imagined a lot more diversity in rock size, but those all look fairly small and easy for shoveling into cars.
Hey Justin Great to see you back at your mine. I'm so tired of the fires and smoke here in CA. It's looking good to bad you missed the drilling. But you forgot to sacrifice your camera for showing the blast. Thanks again for the video. Looking forward to seeing your release.
When I first started watching your site I was wondering how and when you would reach this point in time, thank you for showing as this incredible process, as a decendint of Cornish mining family it was always my dream job, I even had a tunnel in my father's garden and he didn't mind, ha ha ha ☺.
Glad to see you back at it with videos. Hearing the troubles that came your way broke my heart as I have been through them myself. I'm glad to see that you took time for yourself to cope and reflect on the good times you had with loved ones. Keep your head up, shoulders dusted off, and keep moving forward. Kiss ass j!
I cant wait to see the mining. I have followed every one of your vids. Just love what you do. 2022 will be a great year for you, cause you deserve it..
Because of the mechanics of the explosion, there is a practical limit to the depth of a single blast. The rock has to have somewhere to go, but it doesn't flow easily out the tunnel opening. That and the balance of drilling time vs. mucking time, difficulty of drilling deeper holes.
Nice to see progress. It always impresses me watching guys set explosives how the set cords seem like a tangled mess but then things go boom and it good
Battery powered tools in the mine are great don’t have to worry about being shocked. I Purchased a 60 V electric chainsaw I will never purchase another gas powered tool again I love it! Thanks for the update adventure in your mine
Good afternoon from an above ground driller at a limestone mine. Do you have a water separator or air dryer involved with your compressor air system? Also lots of pneumatic tool oil?
Cool videos and serious work! Shock tube is filled with HMX (the explosive) and paint grade aluminium (to increase sensitivity), typically 94% HMX and 6% aluminium.
Awesome content as usual. The more we see in your updates the more questions I have. 🙂. I'd love to sit and ask questions until my voice gave out..... and then maybe write out some more.
Good to see the fellas start to mine . More of that anytime you can . I asked an explosives rep what was in the shock tubes - I was told they had some PETN powder in there .. that stuff goes off at ludicrous speed . If you like doing the hard work Justin and being underground and want more .. then get trained up and start with the classical track and sill mining they are doing .. those skills are getting rare these days and with the changing world and metal prices going up smaller ore bodies are now economical to mine and probably will continue to be. Not only is mining financially rewarding .. it is very rewarding to go down and carve your way skillfully through an ore body and stay alive doing it . :) Honestly though, the first time you solo an 8 foot drift round and snap it out making sugar in the muck pile and an easy shift to muck and bolt, because you didn't hammer the fuck out of the ground being cheap on the holes .. you will want more . If you do go for it .. it is very important to work your core and stamina regularly .
I tested some UK shock cord some time back on an Egis, and the coating in that was supposedly HMX. It tested positive for RDX but the test at the time didn't differentiate RDX from HMX. Deffo negative for PETN though. HMX is pretty quick stuff - 9100m/s and its denser than PETN, so a thin coating carries a bigger punch.
Now thats what we are talking about sonny Jim ....good looking Timber work in there ....interesting drill pattern , didn't see a burn cut. *Soooo C'Mon Let's Goooooo!*
Are you still working on your mine Jeff?
Yeah I was hoping to hear their set but had to rewind and get a close look at their pattern. But the drilling wasn't video'd so maybe next we'll get their thoughts👍
That first stick of dynamite going through the hole must have felt like quite the milestone! Incredible work Justin!
I'm liking this series a lot. Very cool to see how everything is done. Gives me a whole new appreciation for what miners do .
Well said! I couldn't agree more... 😁

Congrats on your first blast. So cool.
Very cool to see the before and after of the blasting.

My favourite series. Justin, you could do a TV series on this mate. Glad to see the new content coming out and great you're doing well. 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
Wishing you all every success with this project if I'm ever lucky enough to cross the pond I'd love to pay a visit
Yeah, me too. Hope it proves profitable after all your hard work. Cheers!
Same here
Glad to see you back to see the mine update! That is very cool! Thank you again sir.
The work in the break area is really taking shape it looks very nice !!

It's fascinating to watch the nitty-gritty of hard rock mining. Thanks!
Awesome to see before and after blasting👍

Been hoping for a new video on the mine. Thank you. Hope 2022 is a better year for you.
I love the update looks like your doing well.
Glad to see you guys blasting!
Great insight on modern mining. Thank you!
It's starting to get exciting, good luck guys.
That was WAYYYY lower pitched than I expected. Really amazing to see how much came out from that much explosive. Stoked to see more progress!
Your channel is one of my favorites. After the rough time you've had this past year I hope you need that ore cart to haul out the gold you get. Best of luck to you..
Great to see the mine going active. After following your adventures to old abandoned mines . Great job and thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
Thank you, glad to see that you guys are starting to move forward on the mine
Hard working people you all are. Best of good Fortune to you all stay safe this is exciting
Awesome being able to come along and watch this experience from the dry, warm, and comfortable couch of my own home. 😜
Why yes it's just amazing how much a good central heating and air system can enhance the experience of watching this!!! 🤠👍

It is nice to have you back
WOW! Excellent news! progress and it's great to see you back in the in mine again :) let's GO brandon!
That was really informative. It was neat to see them set up the charges. Tnx
What a awesome project to do mate and to get the mine running again step by step and that blast was huge for sure and quite alot of hard graft gone into it :). Take it steady in there bro and can't wait to see it finished 🙏
getting it setup pretty good now mate gotta luv popping the next section out great vid good luck cheers
So interesting to see the wiring and aftermath! Appreciate seeing the mundane tasks as well.
Pretty cool to see a modern mining operation. Not much has changed, just the tools and expectations 😁
Hope you’re doing well. Take care till the next one.
This series is awesome we are about to open up a couple mines in Colorado. It's really cool to see what I'm going to have to do here in a couple months
Boom! Nice progress! This is just too interesting! Good job guys. Thanks for bringing us along Justin!
Fun to experience the mine being worked!

Nice clean face - don't think you could have chiseled that any smoother. Congrats on a great job. Thanks so much for the adventure and great video !!!
Love it!!! Can’t wait till next video of this!!!!
Damn! The muffled blasts at 14:05 are chilling. I know it's just blasting in the drift, but it's such an ominous thing to hear coming down the tunnel.
Hey Justin Great to see you back at your mine. I'm so tired of the fires and smoke here in CA. It's looking good to bad you missed the drilling. But you forgot to sacrifice your camera for showing the blast. Thanks again for the video. Looking forward to seeing your release.
very interesting keep them coming, please
Well that was all sorts of frikkin RAD! Kind of what i have been waiting to see ever since you started this as i am sure it was for you too.

So awesome to see you guys work! I hope you all the best luck finding that Sweet ore! Greetings from the Netherlands
Oh my gosh !!!!! Yes!!!!! This is awesome progress!!!
I cant wait to see the mining. I have followed every one of your vids. Just love what you do. 2022 will be a great year for you, cause you deserve it..
Jeez! I didn't know one blast session would clear out 10-12ft. I always thought it was only 2 or 3ft at a time lol
Nice video Justin!
I think its however deep they drill.
Because of the mechanics of the explosion, there is a practical limit to the depth of a single blast. The rock has to have somewhere to go, but it doesn't flow easily out the tunnel opening. That and the balance of drilling time vs. mucking time, difficulty of drilling deeper holes.

I'm hooked waiting for the next update 💯💯
Battery powered tools in the mine are great don’t have to worry about being shocked. I Purchased a 60 V electric chainsaw I will never purchase another gas powered tool again I love it! Thanks for the update adventure in your mine
Our construction crews used air powered chainsaws. Power source everywhere in mines.
That was pretty awesome!
Now that basting has started and mining has begun ... wishing you all the best luck possible!!!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Good afternoon from an above ground driller at a limestone mine.
Do you have a water separator or air dryer involved with your compressor air system?
Also lots of pneumatic tool oil?
Really nice work men, all the best for your continued success.
Beautifully blasted!!
Very cool ! A long time coming , wishing you guys much success and stay safe and healthy 😃✔️
I love watching this wish I was there to help, very educational.
Looking forward to your video on the tram.
Well this ended with a nice bang, good luck with mining guys, it is looking good, but i hope that fire stays away.
Holy smoke, crazy. I love watching you guys, hard workers.
Place looks great
Cool videos and serious work!
Shock tube is filled with HMX (the explosive) and paint grade aluminium (to increase sensitivity), typically 94% HMX and 6% aluminium.
Wow awesome. Makes me want to get underground again. Nice
Thanks for the update! Hope you are doing ok, look forward to the next one. Hang in there good buddy ;)
Good stuff. Super fascinating!
I love it, Can't wait to see a ore cart full of pay!
Thank you for sharing this video it was Neat watching that.

For future blast videos, during the blast shock rumbling wave. Play AC/DC🤘"You've been (BOOM) THUNDA STRUCK!!!!"
That was bringing some interesting mining are going to use a Mucker to scoop up most of it or Probably by hand to!!!; )
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
Glad to back for another vist at yer all's mine. Thank you
Love this series. . . .
Love seeing gold mines being brought back to life
That blasted nice and fine.
