Definitely do mega’s for the Starter Pokémon. You can’t have a region with Mega Pokémon without doing the Mazah Region Starters. Plus. Please do more Regional Variants.
I'm guessing he's treating them similar to Regional Variants and Convergent Species. Alternate forms for older Pokémon that don't require any specific gimmick to work.

Yeah, I actually really liked the compact plush like rendering of Suchip and Suchobile. The new Suchobile render is great and does make it more physically possible and intimidating, but I slightly miss the plush dragon imagery. And Suchip was way better with a more rounded back imo, it looks less unique and more like a generic dragon now. The mega evolution is absolutely fantastic though
Yess! Although I understand the purpose of the change, specially considering the awesome mega, I do not think that the old plushy style was an barrier to the menace vibe, for me is waaaaay cooler an pokemon that seem friendly but it's actually pure chaos and said chaos comes out on its mega

Suchobile is honestly one of my favorite designs in this entire series and I so dearly wish it was canon. That being said, I do feel like Suchip’s new design loses a bit of the dumb puppy energy it has before, especially with the change in eye design. I know it’s to bring the two closer together, but I did really like the goofiness of Suchip. Mega Suchobile is terrifying, I love it.
What I loved about the old Suchobilew design is that the way its tail curved upwards, made the space between it's back and tail look like an extra mouth, which fit perfectly into its inspiration.
Probably unintentional, but the lore+design of Suchobile and it's Mega Evolution would actually tie in really well to an odd little thing that happened in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, where Guzzlord's Ultra Space is an alternate reality of Alola that seems to be in a state of worldwide disaster, and Guzzlord is used as some kind of cleanup, which would imply Guzzlord either was created, or evolved from an existing Pokémon, but there's no official confirmed origin yet as to what Guzzlord came from. Maybe Suchobile could fit right in as a 'missing link' of sorts
Awesome designs all around! Also I know that you don’t usually talk about competitive viability of these designs but mega milotics ability is INSANE! Lowering ALL stats even for three turns is absolutely insanely powerful
I didn’t feel any particular way about Suchip or Suchobile before, but somehow with these redesigns they’ve tipped into being some of my faves! So much character and charm to them that I love, and the shapes are so much more appealing to me now
the shapes of mega milotics pink fins make it seem/look alien in nature which i think really adds to the personality of "too good to be true"/"something of beauty that should not be trusted" that you were trying to convey with it!
I always love the mixing of feathers & fins. The stomach-dragons are even more impressive, I'm glad I thought the same as you, about the core of their concepts.
With mega milotic's ability, you should change it to work like intrepid sword does in gen 9 and work only once per battle bc the ability seems way too broken as is
I know this is an odd comment but the silhouettes were so good! Mega Milotic was in the thumbnail so that was obvious and I didn’t actually watch the videos where you introduced Suchobile line but as soon as I saw the third silhouette I thought to myself, “Wait, is that a mega Skarmoey?” Its really cool that your able to convey a different form of a Pokémon just by their silhouette and just a testament to how great the designs are! Keep it up!
I think its Kind of a miss that you discarded the thick muscular tail of suchobile, since it held a big portion of its menacing nature, possibly beeing used as a club or smth, like the stegoaur would propably do it.
My only critique for the new Suchip is that I wish you had kept the round pupils! That might just be my weakness for cuteness, tho. I love the redesign!
I was waiting so long for Mazah Megas & they're all amazing. I'd definitely want to use them if I ever had the chance. Also, nice more pokemon from other regions are getting the Mega Evolution treatment.
@big ashton I meant more since the last time we got Megas announced, it was just the 2 from the contest. And (prior to this) there were only 2 non-Mazah Pokemon with Mega Evolutions.
I love the new poses, it really does make the characters more tangible. Suchip and Suchobile are much more animated in my mind now, suchip really looks like it’s sitting just a bit too close to the kitchen waiting for scraps and the change to it’s proportions immediately bring a kind of lizard-like scrabbling run to mind. I really enjoy suchobile’s new pose though, as an animal nerd I’m drawing parallels between the way crocs really heft themselves up to walk and can stand up surprisingly high to look bigger. Plenty of reptiles also puff themselves up to look more intimidating, which I can imagine suchobile scrunching itself up more to emphasise the giant mouth in battle! Immaculate job!!
I think a lot of the viewers agree that suchip's charm was his derpy cuteness, but he looks so menacing now )): other than that I think the mega evolution designs are great!
Love to see more love for the Mazah Region! I feel like Suchip got angy boy from his eyes, but could be scaled back a bit. Mega Milotic’s ability is very strong; Awestrike. Instead of halving all stats by 50% for 3 turns, you could make it the first Attack/Sp Attack drop on switch in/activation like Intimidate. To improve on the dangerous beauty concept, you could have some of the scales of the tail become jagged and rougher, but partially cover it with the new fins that extend downward over the body. Mega Skarmory’s HP stat shouldn’t change. I would recommend investing 20 base stats into Attack and the remaining 5 in speed: 65 HP/160 Attack/145 Defense/40 SpAttack/70 SpDef/100 Speed. This would put it about on par with Mega Scizor who is 70/150/140/65/100/75 respectively. I cannot wait to play this game; keep up the great work!
I absolutly love the treatment on mega milotic's hair and face. The texture and colour used really sell the "beautiful but dangerous" aspect of it, like the red is dark enough near the face to give it a more sombre look without taking away the beauty. It sort of reminds me of Walking Wake, the reptilian look with a mane does look very special and ancient and I adore it.
I recognized immediately the mythic inspiration when the knee-jaws appeared, and I'm THERE for it! I just feel that, while all its Mega form's other aspects, like the legs, the maw, the original head being shoved to the back, all have purpose, its tail is just... there. I feel like it could have brought something to the design since it's now at the forefront. Maybe having it curled into yet another jaw with its current spikes as the teach, or being rooted in the larger jar like a tongue.
One thing interesting about megas is that all megas have something they suffer from. Mega Sharpedo's Pokedex entry mentions that it feels pain in all its old wounds when it Mega Evolves. So it would be interesting if the Suchobile was suffering from hunger or the acid in the gaping mouth. Or the skarmory suffering from blades moving so drastically fast in it's body.
I was so excited when I saw suchobile's silhouette! And the re-design is just as, if not, cooler and more ferocious! The Mega somehow manages to be even MORE ferocious! I'm not certain if this was intentional, but the way it's positioned reminds me of a lot of the official mega mawhile art, with it turning around to showcase the two huge mouths that it gains. Overall, I think its super cool and I am definitely using it on my team when the full game is out!
All of these were insane, mega milotic looks downright gorgeous and Mega suchabile is extremely intimidating. For other megas I would say definitely give some to the starters and also the Kalos starters. Edit: Mazian Persian would be insane with a mega, especially if you lean into Tezcatlipoca. Mak’wahurt being the sudo would also have a crazy mega. Hawlucha would have more Gen 6 megas which there is currently one and it’s a luchador. Finally having a mega roadraptor that was a full on celestial dinosaur would just be pure awesome.
i just love, how you kept the designs close to the real pokemons, yet expanding their designs to a maximum without straving away too much from the original design. I mean, you just showed the silhouettes of these Pokemon and it wasnt hard at all to realize which pokemons megas they were
It would be really cool to see some megas for some gen 6 - 9 pokemon! I think you could be especially creative, since there has been a lot less speculation on possible designs since megas have been out of the spotlight.
Hey Jack, I have been a big fan of the Mazah region and all the fakemon that live there! I myself are a fakemon artist as well and am planning on posting in the future, but there is 1 thing I am struggliling with and have noticed you are great at is shading and lighting! It would be great for me and other people if you could consider making a video about how you make your desings and the brushes you use for drawing shading and lighting! I hope you consider it but even if you don't i still want to thank you for filling youtube with great content!
mega suckobile looks absolutely terrific! especially love the dripping mouth. Milotic looks majestic, but maybe its ability is a bit too much, knowing how you could just switch it in and out. Maybe I would make it halve offensive stats for 5 turns instead of all stats (kinda like giving your opponent slow start)
About the hungry croc you could give it a anihilape vibe, anihilape eye is all red cuz it become "blind by rage". The same to your croc it become "blind by hungry" this could be a improvment since it looks to aware of what is happening
There's honestly a spectrum for how much Mega forms look like their original. Remember Sableye? All they did for its Mega form was just give it a big crystal shield, and that's it. Your Mega Milotic is fine, in fact I really like it.
Suchobile might be my favorite Mazean Pokemon. Love seeing it. No critiques of the redesign. Absolutely adore the Mega - it's definitely what I wanted to see. That said, a couple ideas to push it even further: - give it a mouth at the end of its tail, resembling an ankylosaurus club - the drool/bubbling acid in its big mouth? Shape some of the popping bubbles and hanging drool to *resemble* additional mouths. That second one in particular I think would take it to the next level.
Along with Guzzlord, kinda like how Mega Suchobile’s posture in the image has similarities to Mawile and its Mega stand with its ponytail jaws facing the viewer. Almost intentionally deceiving; a cute Pokemon with a terrifying alternate persona.
Mega Nilotic definitely does “enough” there are already a few megas who don’t actually change much so it’s perfectly fine as is. And mega suchobile is so darn cool I cannot wait to have him on my team
You're right it limits the selection of the mons you can use and true it would take a lot of work to implent changing types and stats. However if they make signature moves for all final evolutions it can be a gimmick to stay example beedrill with kamikaze sting +1 priority poison move 120 base power but if you use it beedrill will faint.... this will give beedrill a sense of uniqueness other than a weak base stat bug and poison. Imagine if all mons final evolution have special move. These can constantly be added and every generation will have new moves to add to the competitive pool and regional variations can switch up existing mons. These moves can be used once per battle.
That mega milotic design is gorgeous, and its ability and stat spread make it absolutely cracked. I love it! I'd totally love to main it in the fangame!
Suchip and Suchibile were exactly what I wanted from fuecoco's line! most people hated that Meowscarada stood up, I hated that fuecoco took so long to get down on his four legs. He's kind of cute and silly but that wasn't what I wanted from a starter, I wanted something that looked more like the animal it was based on then an abstract art piece. Ik this has nothing to do with the video, but that's all I could think of when I saw your amazing designs! I'll be seeing your beautiful pokemon in my dreams!!!
Your design process is really fun to watch, particularly the multiple sketches. Its always curious how to work around an art piece or design when it turned out fine, but still doesn’t *feel* right.
I usually like the redesigns, but these ones I have to pass. The main things that attracted me to these mons were the eyebrows (they looked like a mix of emotions, not just plain old anger) and the bubbly interior of the mouth, like "what's going on there? It's not just a mouth, it has some magicky gimmicky thing going on inside there", but now it's all gone and replaced with anger and linear gradients... Miss you, good ol' round eyebrows. Rip
Great designs! My only suggestion is that Mega Suchobile’s tail should have some sort of gripping tool at the tip so that it can feed itself. (Like a claw, hand, or prong) in that case you’d have to re orient the tail spikes to make that feasible. Perhaps a v pattern down the sides ? Regardless, great work. Love them all.
@@_Jotop I think even once a battle it would be OP, it basically forces a switch out as there's no way you could survive more than a couple of turns with your defense stats halved and you wouldn't be able to do anything with them with your defense stats halved. So then milotic gets a free turn to attack whenever it first enters battle If you did want to balance it maybe halving all stats once but only for one turn would be workable
Suchobile can produce acid strong enough to melt cars in its body. Crustang. Chuckles. “I’m in danger.” On a more serious note, I do like the new Pokémon but I think I would prefer if Mega Milotics tail was a bit bigger. Like it could create a small tsunami by smacking its tail in the water. In summary, I guess I’m asking for more of a “We’re gonna need a bigger boat” energy from it.
I was ambivalent about suchobile’s original design, but this updated version… 🤯 I’m not exaggerating when I say this would be in my top 10 Pokémon overall if it was official. The spikier shapes, the clearer anatomy, the saturated colors, the personality, it’s all amazing! And the mega- it’s like everything I love about mega gengar, guzlord, and mawile wrapped into a perfect dragon-type package. 🤤 Amazing work.

Regarding other pokémon to give mega evolutions to, I honestly think Bronzong should be a shoo-in. Mostly due to a possible Tlaloc inspiration, and the fact it was worshipped in ancient times. Like, it’s worshipped form is reawakened by the mega evolution or something.
If you're taking suggestions for Pokemon to give Mega Evolutions to, I have a few suggestions. First, naturally I'd suggest giving Megas to either the 3 Mazah Starter Final Stages, or the 2 box art Legendaries. Also, Mazah doesn't seem to have any Mono Typed Megas yet, so you could give your Steel Armadillo (forgot it's name, sorry) a Mono Steel Typed Mega Evolution. You could even design the shell on its back after a Master Ball. Also, Mega Froslass might be a good idea since Mazah could use more Ice & Ghost types, and that'd also allow the Mono Ice Typed Mega Glalie into Mazah as well. Plus since both Gardevoir & Gallade were able to have the Mega treatment, it's only fair both Glalie & Froslass can have it as well.
These are gorgeous! From a gameplay balancing standpoint, Awestrike seems a little too strong. Sure, it fits the flavor of Mega Pokemon being overwhelmingly powerful, but halving ALL of its opponent's stats EVERY TIME it enters battle? That would be pretty easy to abuse, like forcing every Pokemon you see to have Slow Start but worse. I think I'd probably tone it down by either halving only the offensive stats (so, just Slow Start instead of Worse Slow Start) OR change it into a built-in Fake Out whenever the Mega Milotic enters battle. Basically turns it into a safe switch-in unless the opponent is Inner Focus or Steadfast (or other Abilities that interact with flinch mechanics.) Milotic is a powerful defensive Pokemon, and I think flavorwise these effects would suit the already-amped-up stained glass hagfish.
Honestly, Megas have been my favorite gimmick on both an art and gameplay aspect. Gameplay mainly due to it basically being a Seventh Pokemon in your party, one you may or may not use. Plus the mind games with running something that has a Mega but not using it's Mega.
One minor issue for suchobile is that it still feels small. First because it is looking upwards at something bigger/taller, and second because its pose and hunched back makes it look like a defensive house cat. I think just changing where suchobile is looking and grounding its front left leg would fix this easily.
AWESOME DESIGNS!! A bit of a correction though, the base HP of the pokemon does not increase when it mega evolves, this is a set rule/standard as all pokemon who mega evolve retain their base HP stat, unless you do know this and chose to break the standard in which case that would be a unique implementation!
It always amazes me how much a few subtle changes can make a huge difference. I really didn't like the crocodiles in their first iteration, but now I really want one on my team! Those megas are great. As for not changing enough of the original design, I point squarely at Pidgeot. Your Milotic looks great!
I like the idea of a sort of pseudo mega type gimmick for mazah, a more spirit boosted form, where its most visual example i can give is the dimensional dragons and their supreme king versions from yugioh arc v, they get glowing energy lines and become darker in color but for the Pokémon they gain a aura based on their first type, it doesnt change much on the design but amps its stab bonus.
i really wish that the circular shapes around suchobile's eyes were more pronounced, almost making it look like a pair of tiny monocle-like glasses, making its main head prim and proper like a 19-th century gentleman, and its back mouth an insatiable monster, jekyll-and-hyde-style

Very fun set of designs. Skarmory is good, not my favorite, but I can't imagine what I'd do to it myself, so I heartily commend you for creating a design the FEELS like a Mega, even if I'm not the biggest fan. I was always kinda meh on Suchip and its evo, but I love the new designs. I feel like Mega Sechavile really does have that menace feel you were going for, but still feels like it would obey the orders given by its trainer. I like Milotic, I think the concept is great. If I was to change anything about it, I'd like if the stained glass pattern encroached more on the rest of the design; like, if they formed a recognizable pattern on the tips of its ears, maybe separate it forms two beautiful mirrored patterns, but combined it's a threatening visage, or something. If I was to recommend a Pokémon to become a Mega, I'd like to suggest Sigilyph. It's an interesting design and underused Pokémon where I feel like you could play with the idea of making the Mega's head not Sigilyph's head. Like, the torso is the new head, and the tail and wings have formed some form of ethereal body. It's a design you can do a lot with.
I wish suchip had stayed cute, it looks kinda angry now. The new face makes it comes off as competitive, when a big part of the charm of original suchip was how thoughtless it seemed. It was a funny direction to take a dragon type in, and new suchip looks more generic because of the change in personality. Suchobile and its mega look good though

It could be Dragon/Dark however Poison makes more sense as that's it's more prominent feature! Like how not all bug pokemon are bug type.

With mega milotic's ability, you should change it to work like intrepid sword does in gen 9 and work only once per battle bc the ability seems way too broken as is
I know this is an odd comment but the silhouettes were so good! Mega Milotic was in the thumbnail so that was obvious and I didn’t actually watch the videos where you introduced Suchobile line but as soon as I saw the third silhouette I thought to myself, “Wait, is that a mega Skarmoey?” Its really cool that your able to convey a different form of a Pokémon just by their silhouette and just a testament to how great the designs are! Keep it up!
I think its Kind of a miss that you discarded the thick muscular tail of suchobile, since it held a big portion of its menacing nature, possibly beeing used as a club or smth, like the stegoaur would propably do it.
My only critique for the new Suchip is that I wish you had kept the round pupils! That might just be my weakness for cuteness, tho. I love the redesign!
I was waiting so long for Mazah Megas & they're all amazing. I'd definitely want to use them if I ever had the chance. Also, nice more pokemon from other regions are getting the Mega Evolution treatment.

I love the new poses, it really does make the characters more tangible. Suchip and Suchobile are much more animated in my mind now, suchip really looks like it’s sitting just a bit too close to the kitchen waiting for scraps and the change to it’s proportions immediately bring a kind of lizard-like scrabbling run to mind. I really enjoy suchobile’s new pose though, as an animal nerd I’m drawing parallels between the way crocs really heft themselves up to walk and can stand up surprisingly high to look bigger. Plenty of reptiles also puff themselves up to look more intimidating, which I can imagine suchobile scrunching itself up more to emphasise the giant mouth in battle! Immaculate job!!
The new suchip is definitely better but I think I like the more blank expression from the original rather than the angry red eyes of the new one

Mega Milotic’s ability is very strong; Awestrike. Instead of halving all stats by 50% for 3 turns, you could make it the first Attack/Sp Attack drop on switch in/activation like Intimidate. To improve on the dangerous beauty concept, you could have some of the scales of the tail become jagged and rougher, but partially cover it with the new fins that extend downward over the body.
Mega Skarmory’s HP stat shouldn’t change. I would recommend investing 20 base stats into Attack and the remaining 5 in speed: 65 HP/160 Attack/145 Defense/40 SpAttack/70 SpDef/100 Speed. This would put it about on par with Mega Scizor who is 70/150/140/65/100/75 respectively.

I absolutly love the treatment on mega milotic's hair and face. The texture and colour used really sell the "beautiful but dangerous" aspect of it, like the red is dark enough near the face to give it a more sombre look without taking away the beauty. It sort of reminds me of Walking Wake, the reptilian look with a mane does look very special and ancient and I adore it.
I recognized immediately the mythic inspiration when the knee-jaws appeared, and I'm THERE for it!
I just feel that, while all its Mega form's other aspects, like the legs, the maw, the original head being shoved to the back, all have purpose, its tail is just... there.
I feel like it could have brought something to the design since it's now at the forefront. Maybe having it curled into yet another jaw with its current spikes as the teach, or being rooted in the larger jar like a tongue.
One thing interesting about megas is that all megas have something they suffer from.
Mega Sharpedo's Pokedex entry mentions that it feels pain in all its old wounds when it Mega Evolves.
So it would be interesting if the Suchobile was suffering from hunger or the acid in the gaping mouth.
Or the skarmory suffering from blades moving so drastically fast in it's body.
I was so excited when I saw suchobile's silhouette! And the re-design is just as, if not, cooler and more ferocious! The Mega somehow manages to be even MORE ferocious! I'm not certain if this was intentional, but the way it's positioned reminds me of a lot of the official mega mawhile art, with it turning around to showcase the two huge mouths that it gains. Overall, I think its super cool and I am definitely using it on my team when the full game is out!
All of these were insane, mega milotic looks downright gorgeous and Mega suchabile is extremely intimidating.
For other megas I would say definitely give some to the starters and also the Kalos starters.
Edit: Mazian Persian would be insane with a mega, especially if you lean into Tezcatlipoca. Mak’wahurt being the sudo would also have a crazy mega. Hawlucha would have more Gen 6 megas which there is currently one and it’s a luchador. Finally having a mega roadraptor that was a full on celestial dinosaur would just be pure awesome.
i just love, how you kept the designs close to the real pokemons, yet expanding their designs to a maximum without straving away too much from the original design.

It would be really cool to see some megas for some gen 6 - 9 pokemon! I think you could be especially creative, since there has been a lot less speculation on possible designs since megas have been out of the spotlight.

I myself are a fakemon artist as well and am planning on posting in the future, but there is 1 thing I am struggliling with and have noticed you are great at is shading and lighting!
It would be great for me and other people if you could consider making a video about how you make your desings and the brushes you use for drawing shading and lighting!

The redesign of Suchobile made it go from a pokemon I wasn’t super excited about to one of my favorite of the regions and the mega is AWESOME
mega suckobile looks absolutely terrific! especially love the dripping mouth.
Milotic looks majestic, but maybe its ability is a bit too much, knowing how you could just switch it in and out. Maybe I would make it halve offensive stats for 5 turns instead of all stats (kinda like giving your opponent slow start)
Mega Milotic‘s fins really give off biblically accurate angel vibes which I think fits very well. Love the other megas as well

About the hungry croc you could give it a anihilape vibe, anihilape eye is all red cuz it become "blind by rage". The same to your croc it become "blind by hungry" this could be a improvment since it looks to aware of what is happening
Just a very tiny nitpick: Megas keep the same HP stat as their base forms! Other than that, amazing art! Keep up the amazing work
There's honestly a spectrum for how much Mega forms look like their original. Remember Sableye? All they did for its Mega form was just give it a big crystal shield, and that's it. Your Mega Milotic is fine, in fact I really like it.
Suchobile might be my favorite Mazean Pokemon. Love seeing it. No critiques of the redesign. Absolutely adore the Mega - it's definitely what I wanted to see. That said, a couple ideas to push it even further:
- give it a mouth at the end of its tail, resembling an ankylosaurus club
- the drool/bubbling acid in its big mouth? Shape some of the popping bubbles and hanging drool to *resemble* additional mouths.
That second one in particular I think would take it to the next level.
Along with Guzzlord, kinda like how Mega Suchobile’s posture in the image has similarities to Mawile and its Mega stand with its ponytail jaws facing the viewer. Almost intentionally deceiving; a cute Pokemon with a terrifying alternate persona.
It’s still amazes me and it’s crazy how we only have 48 mega evolutions out the over 1,000 Pokémon
Mega Nilotic definitely does “enough” there are already a few megas who don’t actually change much so it’s perfectly fine as is. And mega suchobile is so darn cool I cannot wait to have him on my team
You're right it limits the selection of the mons you can use and true it would take a lot of work to implent changing types and stats. However if they make signature moves for all final evolutions it can be a gimmick to stay example beedrill with kamikaze sting +1 priority poison move 120 base power but if you use it beedrill will faint.... this will give beedrill a sense of uniqueness other than a weak base stat bug and poison. Imagine if all mons final evolution have special move. These can constantly be added and every generation will have new moves to add to the competitive pool and regional variations can switch up existing mons. These moves can be used once per battle.
Suchobile is such a great design and that mega evolution is so badass. Definitely one of my favorite Mazah pokemon!
Mega Milotic looks like something Lusamine or any other beauty obsessed person would use as their ace to try and capture Elorimanda or something.

Suchip and Suchibile were exactly what I wanted from fuecoco's line! most people hated that Meowscarada stood up, I hated that fuecoco took so long to get down on his four legs. He's kind of cute and silly but that wasn't what I wanted from a starter, I wanted something that looked more like the animal it was based on then an abstract art piece. Ik this has nothing to do with the video, but that's all I could think of when I saw your amazing designs! I'll be seeing your beautiful pokemon in my dreams!!!
Your design process is really fun to watch, particularly the multiple sketches. Its always curious how to work around an art piece or design when it turned out fine, but still doesn’t *feel* right.
I usually like the redesigns, but these ones I have to pass. The main things that attracted me to these mons were the eyebrows (they looked like a mix of emotions, not just plain old anger) and the bubbly interior of the mouth, like "what's going on there? It's not just a mouth, it has some magicky gimmicky thing going on inside there", but now it's all gone and replaced with anger and linear gradients... Miss you, good ol' round eyebrows. Rip
Great designs! My only suggestion is that Mega Suchobile’s tail should have some sort of gripping tool at the tip so that it can feed itself. (Like a claw, hand, or prong) in that case you’d have to re orient the tail spikes to make that feasible. Perhaps a v pattern down the sides ?

it could only work once for battle and even then it would be busted since you would get free setup on the first turn youre in.
@@_Jotop I think even once a battle it would be OP, it basically forces a switch out as there's no way you could survive more than a couple of turns with your defense stats halved and you wouldn't be able to do anything with them with your defense stats halved. So then milotic gets a free turn to attack whenever it first enters battle
If you did want to balance it maybe halving all stats once but only for one turn would be workable

On a more serious note, I do like the new Pokémon but I think I would prefer if Mega Milotics tail was a bit bigger. Like it could create a small tsunami by smacking its tail in the water. In summary, I guess I’m asking for more of a “We’re gonna need a bigger boat” energy from it.

Regarding other pokémon to give mega evolutions to, I honestly think Bronzong should be a shoo-in. Mostly due to a possible Tlaloc inspiration, and the fact it was worshipped in ancient times. Like, it’s worshipped form is reawakened by the mega evolution or something.
If you're taking suggestions for Pokemon to give Mega Evolutions to, I have a few suggestions. First, naturally I'd suggest giving Megas to either the 3 Mazah Starter Final Stages, or the 2 box art Legendaries. Also, Mazah doesn't seem to have any Mono Typed Megas yet, so you could give your Steel Armadillo (forgot it's name, sorry) a Mono Steel Typed Mega Evolution. You could even design the shell on its back after a Master Ball. Also, Mega Froslass might be a good idea since Mazah could use more Ice & Ghost types, and that'd also allow the Mono Ice Typed Mega Glalie into Mazah as well. Plus since both Gardevoir & Gallade were able to have the Mega treatment, it's only fair both Glalie & Froslass can have it as well.

From a gameplay balancing standpoint, Awestrike seems a little too strong. Sure, it fits the flavor of Mega Pokemon being overwhelmingly powerful, but halving ALL of its opponent's stats EVERY TIME it enters battle? That would be pretty easy to abuse, like forcing every Pokemon you see to have Slow Start but worse.
I think I'd probably tone it down by either halving only the offensive stats (so, just Slow Start instead of Worse Slow Start) OR change it into a built-in Fake Out whenever the Mega Milotic enters battle. Basically turns it into a safe switch-in unless the opponent is Inner Focus or Steadfast (or other Abilities that interact with flinch mechanics.) Milotic is a powerful defensive Pokemon, and I think flavorwise these effects would suit the already-amped-up stained glass hagfish.
Honestly, Megas have been my favorite gimmick on both an art and gameplay aspect.
Gameplay mainly due to it basically being a Seventh Pokemon in your party, one you may or may not use.
Plus the mind games with running something that has a Mega but not using it's Mega.
One minor issue for suchobile is that it still feels small. First because it is looking upwards at something bigger/taller, and second because its pose and hunched back makes it look like a defensive house cat. I think just changing where suchobile is looking and grounding its front left leg would fix this easily.
I'd love to see a Grass/Fire Mega sunflora. Since sunfloras design is Somewhat platinum and the fan game made sunflora a Grass/Fire type.

AWESOME DESIGNS!! A bit of a correction though, the base HP of the pokemon does not increase when it mega evolves, this is a set rule/standard as all pokemon who mega evolve retain their base HP stat, unless you do know this and chose to break the standard in which case that would be a unique implementation!
It always amazes me how much a few subtle changes can make a huge difference. I really didn't like the crocodiles in their first iteration, but now I really want one on my team!
Those megas are great. As for not changing enough of the original design, I point squarely at Pidgeot. Your Milotic looks great!
I like the idea of a sort of pseudo mega type gimmick for mazah, a more spirit boosted form, where its most visual example i can give is the dimensional dragons and their supreme king versions from yugioh arc v, they get glowing energy lines and become darker in color but for the Pokémon they gain a aura based on their first type, it doesnt change much on the design but amps its stab bonus.
It's like evolution, but Mega!

i really wish that the circular shapes around suchobile's eyes were more pronounced, almost making it look like a pair of tiny monocle-like glasses, making its main head prim and proper like a 19-th century gentleman, and its back mouth an insatiable monster, jekyll-and-hyde-style

Very fun set of designs. Skarmory is good, not my favorite, but I can't imagine what I'd do to it myself, so I heartily commend you for creating a design the FEELS like a Mega, even if I'm not the biggest fan. I was always kinda meh on Suchip and its evo, but I love the new designs. I feel like Mega Sechavile really does have that menace feel you were going for, but still feels like it would obey the orders given by its trainer. I like Milotic, I think the concept is great. If I was to change anything about it, I'd like if the stained glass pattern encroached more on the rest of the design; like, if they formed a recognizable pattern on the tips of its ears, maybe separate it forms two beautiful mirrored patterns, but combined it's a threatening visage, or something.
If I was to recommend a Pokémon to become a Mega, I'd like to suggest Sigilyph. It's an interesting design and underused Pokémon where I feel like you could play with the idea of making the Mega's head not Sigilyph's head. Like, the torso is the new head, and the tail and wings have formed some form of ethereal body. It's a design you can do a lot with.
I wish suchip had stayed cute, it looks kinda angry now. The new face makes it comes off as competitive, when a big part of the charm of original suchip was how thoughtless it seemed. It was a funny direction to take a dragon type in, and new suchip looks more generic because of the change in personality. Suchobile and its mega look good though

I think a cool thing about megas is that they can change a lot and a little to amplify the design. I was wondering if you could make a new mega for Blastoise! I really have always liked the Pokémon but it’s mega decently could’ve played into the war aspect of its design a lot more. Thank you and keep making great content!
For mega scarm, I would have mirrored the notch from the tail fin on the elongated head crest, probably a smaller notch.

Great designs and updates. As a mega lover and corsola aficionado, I have always crave you reimagining an evolution/mega for corsola. Ever since cursola I have been wandering a version of it where the coral is alive.
I feel like milotic should half the highest stat of the pokemon , that way she could break spdef walls
