I'm no highly educated international affairs analyst but it seems to me that, in the long term, Russia has a lot more to fear from China than from any Western nation. Russia east of the Urals is essentially empty, and getting emptier, chock full of natural resources, and more or less undefended. China wants both land and resources, is highly aggressive, and plans long-term. Russia is gutting itself in the West and will likely never recover its demographics nor its manufacturing capability. Shouldn't the Eastern borders be the higher priority ? I'd like to hear from people better qualified than me as to why I'm completely wrong. Or not.

Yes, the eastern port of Vladivostok alone, on the Pacific Ocean, in what used to be Chinese Outer Manchuria, is a Qing Dynasty asset that the CCP has not forgotten, and they consider the ceding of those lands to Russia under the Treaty of Aigun in 1858 an unfair treaty.
In addition to mining resources, China is also wanting freshwater assets from the region. If China can acquire portions of Russia (or all of it) as a vassal state, that's also an attractive option.
Geopolitics is merely a hobby for me, so you might do well to confirm these things for yourself if you'd like to know more.
      -----
Outer Manchuria,[3][4][1][2][5] sometimes called Russian Manchuria, refers to a region in Northeast Asia that is now part of the Russian Far East[1] but historically formed part of Manchuria (until the mid-19th century). While Manchuria now more normatively refers to Northeast China, it originally included areas consisting of Priamurye between the left bank of Amur River and the Stanovoy Range to the north, and Primorskaya which covered the area in the right bank of both Ussuri River and the lower Amur River to the Pacific Coast.

Yes - and Russia has to be careful not to become the sacrificial lamb, that saves Tawain.
Instead of attacking Taiwan, which definitely trigger WW3 - the West could tell China, that they wouldn't help Russia (as they definitely would with Taiwan). So it would be Russia alone to fend off China, and Russia is too that. It doesn't have to be an open war, Russia would not be able to withstand Chinese salami tactics, conquering square mile per square mile with settlers, economic dominance and so on.

It's the same percentage drop against the Chinese Yuan and the Indian Rupee. Basic food like potatoes are up 74% since the beginning of 2024. With respect to eggs and butter, if you can find them it's the same. The Russian bank has said that interest rates are going to rise to 22 - 23% in December, in order to control spending as inflation is currently just short of 9%. The failing Russian demographics come as no surprise when the frontline losses (KIA and WIA) of young and middle aged men are over a million while the rapid early 2022/23 exodus of young and middle age men and women amounted to over a million. The RF has for the last 2 decades suffered from a negative population reproduction which has worsened an already large hiatus between young and old. Their reliance on NK boots on the ground in UKR has not only escalated the conventional war but is evidence of their recruiting problems without national mobilisation which Putler is aware will attract the wrath of mothers and wives as it did in Afghanistan in 1989. Saudi Arabi holds an ace card against RF by dropping the price of crude oil such that his customers could, should or would change sources.

Ms. Baker is correct about the catastrophic loss of life on the part of RF troops on the Front in Ukraine, but she maintains that ruzzia is "moving forward." She evidently understands very little about a war of attrition. This is a program in which the defenders set up a "fighting retreat," taking some losses but destroying the fighting power of the enemy. The defenders give up territory temporarily in order to draw the invaders into positions that are poorly defended and where the invaders can be mowed down like wheat.
Tsar Alexander's troops harassed the French invaders on their way east in 1812, but refused to give Napoleon the chance for a decisive battle. They gave up about 400,000 square kilometers of territory rather than fight to the last man defending Vilna, Minsk, Smolensk, Borodino or even Moscow itself. The losses among Napoleon's troops due to weather, disease and logistical failures as well as combat totaled about 500,000 men in the whole campaign, of which perhaps 180,000 died or were injured on the way to Moscow.
Putler's army has already suffered 560,000 MORE casualties than Napoleon's in their respective offensive phases. Balancing cost v. benefit, the French "gained" about two sq. km. per casualty attacking the ruzzian empire in 1812. In contrast, ruzzia has picked up less than 1000 sq. km. net in the course of this entire year, at a cost of 376,000 casualties.
That means that the touted "gains" of the ruzzian aggressors thus far in 2024 amount to 2.66 square METERS (NOT kilometers) per casualty, barely more than one thousandth the conquest to cost ratio of Napoleon's invading army. I concede that the proportion of deaths to wounded was much higher for the French Army in 1812 than what ruzzia has incurred in the last 30 months in Ukraine, but a soldier who has lost a leg is just as combat-ineffective as a corpse. "Attrition" is happening to the RF army right now on a massive scale.
Whatever those 1000 sq. km. of mine-laden farmland and rubble might be worth, they are of zero immediate economic benefit to ruzzia. Meanwhile, the ruzzian economy that would need to support further aggression is in a state of free fall. The ruble sits at 113 rubles to one US dollar at today's close (spot FX). That represents a loss of 18% of the ruble's value in just 17 days. Coincidentally, that is almost exactly the amount by which the Brazilian real (no tower of financial strength) has declined against the dollar over the course of the entire past 12 months. Stated another way, the ruble is falling 21 times faster than the real.
This ruzzian campaign of economic and human suicide cannot possibly form the basis for an outcome of negotiations favorable to Putler in any sane world.
Pres. Trump is a graduate of the Wharton School of finance. I cannot imagine that, come January 20, Pres. Trump will be so naif as to the big picture to force Ukraine into a bad deal with an enemy that is on the verge of total collapse, both on the battlefield and on world markets.

hello, i think I can help you.
If you look at your computer, there is a search bar, and often it is a Google search bar.
When you type in your inquiry (this is called googling ) the computer will then provide a list of websites that has information pertinent to your inquiry.
Click on the links at your leisure, read them and often you will find the information and evidence you seek.
Sometimes the info is not easily available, and if you have hours or days to spare, you can usually dig up the evidence.
Of course, sometimes the info is incorrect, out of date...or heaven forbid !...propaganda or lies.
So you have to use your judgement, your intellect and common sense to sort out the garbage.
If all that is too much for you, you can apply at a University and do a Degree in Communications, Media or Journalism. That is how it works.
If you want "physical" evidence then you may need to get a job with the Military, or in the government working as a Diplomat or Spy. It can be quite dangerous, so i recommend caution going down those paths. And it will take probably ten years or so of experience to actually get the "physical evidence" you seek.
      Good luck !
