mentioned this before in another video but Samson really reminds me of Chris Cormier. Very balanced with similar structures and lack of weaknesses. As a result they are competitive in every pose but no real "lights out" poses as well. Strangely enough even their back genetics are very similar. Both also have quads as their best feature and slightly lagging delts.

Samson looks more like Lee Haney than any other to me. Especially the FDB, its uncanny. He was actually placed third in this comparison - finals, so won this round

If you look at the 6 man call out at prejudging, the lighting was really shit on the outer edge where Samson was standing compared to the middle with Brandon
Man, Justin's delts and chest are really overdone. It doesn't even look like real muscle anymore. Especially when he's "relaxed" or in the front lat spread 1:31 Almost looks like implants
I def think he had oil in his shoulders, his front lat spread looks like absolute shit

You gave justin too many poses, for the first time i disagree with you. Samson's symmetry and structure + better conditiong overwhelms justin's "ugly" physique imo. Simply because his left lat didnt flare up like the other is hard nitpicking.

What do you think about Justin's shoulders and maybe outer quads? It definitely looks like he used some synthol in his delts, just completely smooth both nights no matter the pose
He wasn't that smooth at the prejudging. It's not as if he went and inj oil in his room after the prejudging. It takes multiple mls of oil for weeks to get a blown out look. I guarantee, he wasnt up in his room filling syringes with oil of some sort. Two days out he was dry and far from smooth. He changed something between the trips onstage. Probably mostly food.

Justin really messed up for the night show; he spilled over big time. I can see why he ended up taking 5th. He was much smoother on Saturday. Samson and Steve really tightened up for the the night show.

Seasoned Olympia athletes are generally much better at that part. Either way, he messed that part up pretty hard. 5th was well deserved based on these videos and pictures.

Judges got this call out right. I had Samson winning the rear lat spread due to conditioning and v taper, but otherwise I see all your points as well.
I imo think if Samson puts on 7-10 lbs of quality muscle watch out he's gonna be deadly he's gott the streamline small wasit physique to look freaky
Samson actually was 3rd in the finals
While Justin looked great, one thing that put me off and this may be over critical. His conditioning may not have been super like other shows, but from poses from the rear, you could really see Justin’s gut protrude, and it just didn’t look good at all.

I honestly would of had Samson in first place, hes to complete and polished top to bottom, im sorry but Curries bottom half just isnt pro calibre, thats the honest truth, he gets a free pass because of his upper body .

When Samson dial in his posing and add some muscle in certain areas just cause he's tall makes width appear less than a man that's short so he gonna need to add some meat on them lats,delts biceps and hams it's game over for the rest of the open , the man would absolutely kill the double bicep if he leaned a bit like flexatron and squeeze that hams. Bro he will win multiple sandows. He's future is in staying healthy in the process of getting better. Next year Samson is my dark horse to win that sandow.. I've watched him for a few years and i could tell he was someone to pay close attention to.
He won't win his back is too narrow genetically. All of the Mr.O champs had wide backs genetically.

I like your opinions but I'm left wondering why you said absolutely nothing about Justin's triceps. I don't want to be harsh on the guy but triceps are such awesome muscles. His will need to get huuuge to overcome his genetic absence of structure.

A lot of controversy in this show, but at least the judges got everyone in about the right order. Great video.
Samson has some Ronnie and Flex genes in his body, the only thing remaining is for him to get coached by Chad to really seal the deal.

I just don't get what ppl see in brandon imo he's got smaller legs and his upperbody wasn't peeled. Not hating he's obviously a good b. B but an elite b. B or b. B that's winning Arnolds/Olimpia or even 2nd-3rd place I just dont see. I think his 2nd place at last year's o was b. Brandon upper body is one of the best of all times, that why he does so well.
I agree with Tom, his lines arent as good as FLexs but yep you combine FKex w Chris Cormier and thats Samson with the elephant being that he IS taller than they were at 5'11 solid..and FLex was only 5/9 1/2 max he just got taller every time he talked. Samson is not a completely finished physique yet..he needs another 20lbs..and when he does he will be Mr Olympia for a very long time
20lbs is a stretch. He could do it but would the waist still be that small? Even 5-10lbs in the right places would make a huge difference.

I don't get the judging these days:
*The judges seem to be putting fullness above conditioning. Hence Brandon's win here, and Ramy and Brandon above Hadi at the O; also Hunter above Nick.
*On the other hand, at the Arnold, Brett and Samson seemed to get marked down for less than perfect conditioning. And Steve seemed to get rewarded for bringing his tightest-ever look, whereas he lost twice to Iain last year after bringing more size and fullness.
It's not clear what the judges want, if it ever was. I'd go with balance and conditioning, so for me Bonac easily won the Arnold, and I'd have placed Hadi and Nick higher at the O.
SAMSON IS INCREDIBLE. Really NO genetic flaw. Great muscle-bellies all through the arms and calves. Great legs. Decent enough lat insertions that he can bring his back up in time. Aside from Phil Heath, Flex W, Levrone and maybe a few others, it's really hard to think of bodybuilders with better genetics.

He has a BIG genetic flaw his back is not genetically wide. He was the tallest up there but his back was the narrowest.
Samson is the tallest but much more narrow from the back than both Kuclo, Rodrigues. I think that will always hurt Samson no matter what he does he be narrow from the back regardless. Short of like Cedric, tall boys can't get that density like shorter guy e.g Bonac.
