These guitars are some of the best value instruments in the market today...The craftsmenship is just unbelievable..Cort Gold series steel strings are simply amazing!
I have to agree. I’m not sponsored by Cort, I just genuinely wanted to share these experiences I’ve had with the whole guitar community! I’m glad people are beginning to recognize Martin isn’t the best and only brand out there. 😂 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Peace. 🐰💙🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
I bought a Cort acoustic in Thailand in 1977 as the local players loved them for the money. Still have it, still great, deep tone, love it. If their new guitars are as good as my 40 plus year old friend I want one.
Oh wow! I have never played a vintage Cort before! That would really be something! I am anxious to see what they produce at a slightly higher price point than these are...because these Gold series guitars are just awesome! They are built so well, and sound great! Thank you very much for the comment! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎵✨🤝✌️
My New Cort Gold O6 came today. Wow! I mean WOW!!! A lot of bang for the buck here. I'm a beginner, but I have had a dozen plus so guitars over the years. I had a Jam Pack Ibanez acoustic which was all laminate for many years, until my sister-in-law started using it. Scratched it all up with her rings and eventually cracked the bridge. I ordered a Taylor Academy 12e as an upgrade, Sam Ash sent me a open box one with a lifting bridge so that went back. Due to inventory issues, I ordered a Academy 10 from Sweetwater, but the neck was crooked, so that went back, then I tried a Academy 12N, but I wasn't into the 12 fret neck or sound of nylon, so that went back. Then I ordered a Eastman E1OM from Chicago Music Exchange and that was another Open Box guitar which had stripped screws on the tuners and a wood puddy repair on the side due to the cheap quantity solid wood they used. I ordered the Guild 140, but canceled that one after finding this video. It was 'probably going to be fine", but it had a gloss neck so I preferred saving some money and getting the satin neck on the Cort. The Cort is definitely a keeper; great sound and craftsmanship. Thanks again.
Man, this is such an awesome story! I'm really glad you like the Cort. I try to just tell it as I see it, and as soon as I got my hands on one of these, I just had to sing it's praise online. This comment just made my week, dude! Congratulations on the guitar. I hope you make tons of good music with it! I'm so happy I could help in the process; thank you very much! 🐰💜🙏🎸🎶🤝✌
I remember in 1998 Cort advertisements made sure that people knew that they built for other brands and were used and admired by very good musicians. So buy one today!
Lol...thanks for checking it out, dude!! I just bought another one...the P6! I really like these instruments a lot, which is why I felt compelled to share them here. I have never seen an ad for Cort...I’ll have to look up the old ads from the 90’s! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
Nice view on very nice guitars👏🏻 i got an 06 these month- i love. She‘s a little beauty and the sound is vintage as well. I got it for half price- could‘nt say no🙏🏼🎶🕊️
Half price?! Wow! That’s a great deal! The O6 is really sweet, and I’m glad you got one of your own! They surprised me when I first played them, and sound even better after all these years. It’ll only get sweeter in time. I hope you get years of enjoyment from it. thanks for checking out my video and for the comment! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶✌️
I promised you that I would be back on this one.. Here I am on a more quiet moment with only the birds sounds around me. I don't watch often videos of musicians talking about their instruments, but you caught my attention with this Cort acoustic. I follow someone who play with a electric Cort, but was curious about those acoustic ones. The quality and finishing of the 3 looks awesome. For the sounds, first I preferred the A8 to the O6, but the D6 is quite good also. What you played remind me of the music of someone I know, Antoine Dufour. One day check him out if you like discovering new guitarist. He's insane on his Beauregard nice acoustic guitars. Jack, Cort should send you another acoustic in bonus for this great video you did about their Guitars. It was really interesting man. Enjoyed each seconds of it. Thanks 👍
Thank you so much!! To tell you a secret, I would rather listen to musicians play than talk about their gear, too lol! I don't often watch these kinds of videos myself, but my most watched vids and top search terms were for these guitars...like, my top 6 in analytics! Crazy. I figure it may drive more traffic to my originals, but who knows...!? They really are nice guitars, though. I was shocked at how affordable they are. I had nowhere to see or hear or play one of these, and there are very few demos online. I had to take a chance and buy one online (the O6 was the first one), but I was so happy when I played it, I bought the other 2 within a month lol! I wish they would send me an O8 in the burst finish hahaha! That would be sweet! I will look up Antoine...IDK him yet! Thanks for the awesome comment, my friend!! Keep on rockin!! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic thanks for your reply Jack. Yep it's crazy sometimes as you said for what you noticed in analytics. Hey why not adding a cat next to the guitars when you talk about them loll people with cats in videos it's crazy how many thousands of view their having. No but joke aside, the reason I told you that I don't watch much tutorials of unboxing kind of video, was for you to know that I found it very interesting the way you naturally explained it all. And also that I never never saw in my life a acoustic Cort outside yours. If I ever see one in a music store, count on me that I'll be grabbing one to personally get the feeling out of it. For Antoine Dufour, it was only a suggestion my friend. He's very different and original in his way to play on acoustics. So I thought you may find interesting to discover how he handle strings his own way. And omg hahaha yesterday night in the Livestream when you said that Energizer Rabbit was you little cousin on meth lolll. I laughed so much man. See ya Buddy
I am allergic to cats, unfortunately. My sister has 2 of them, and everytime I am at her house my face gets all red, and I start feeling it in my lungs. It doesn't help that one of her cats loves me so much that she actually sits on my shoulder and just hangs out! I am the only person the cat does that too, so I guess I am "her person" haha! I always leave my sisters covered in cat hair! I really love animals. Yeah, everytime someone mentions anything rabbit related, I have to chime in lol! Lots of talk about "going down a rabbit hole" when discussing gear and whatnot, too! You rock dude! Thank you so much!!
Awesome work dude. Thank you so much. Exactly what I have been looking for. These guitars are so unknown and really deserve their fair shake. Nothing can touch them at their price point. Happy 4th. Stay safe.
I have wanted to do this video since I started my channel lol! Cort guitars are really sweet, especially at the price they charge for them. If you can get one used, forget it...buy it! Haha! Thank you so much for watching, and leaving a great comment!! It's great to see you!! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
What an excellent unbiased & very in depth review! Thankyou very much. I’m going for the A8 in light burst I think. Much appreciate the close ups & comments on the frets & neck etc. Subscribed! 👍
Hey, Brian! I REALLY appreciate this comment, and thanks for the support!! Congratulations on the A8...it’s such a great instrument! I’ll be making some new videos soon. I’m currently writing new songs to share! Peace. 🐰💙🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic A pleasure! You really helped with that comparison. I could tell the difference for a change! Explaining the various string types and gauges of each was a definite bonus. Very much appreciated & best wishes! 👍
Hello Jack, tank you so much for this complete demo. Surprized you dont have a P6 to complete your collection 🤪. More seriously, it's great to meet people like you that in addition to sharing their music share their passion for their instrument. Keep going. Take care.
Thanks for checking it out and leaving a great comment, Hugh!! Awesome to see you, man!! Cort guitars are sweet, and the one you have is awesome!! Every time MHH plays your tunes, everyone wants to know what the guitar is...they sound killer!! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
Beautiful video and beautiful playing jack. Back in the day like in the mid 80's, I had a Cort electric guitar. It was a lower end, but it had fantastic action and played great.
Hey Mitch! Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment!! I have never played a Cort which I haven't liked yet lol! Some are gonna start calling me a fan-boy hahaha!! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
Great show & tell, great playing, love the chord work & wow that intro is perfect for your channel. Outro was super professional. Now you have me looking at the Cort site!
I took good note to come and watch the full 14 minutes video tomorrow Jack. I was going to bed, but saw your notification. Couldn't resist to check. Skipped a few minutes her and there, and omg the sound of the guitar. I really have to check it all tomorrow or Sunday . It's in my agenda. Take care man. Have a cool weekend ✌️
Awesome! Yeah, I know this is a "long" one for me, but I was trying to cram so much info in lol!! I had to edit the end so it wasn't over 15 minutes!! Thank you so much for the support, man!! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Cool, and it's not because it was too long to watch, because I really like when someone shows and talk about their Guitars, it's only because it was so late and too tire to enjoy it in a good way. As I said, I took a note in agenda. I'll be back to ya on this one for sure Ok.. gotta run again. Lol weekend is there to relax, and impossible to relax for me haha. Take it easy man
Cort makes Great guitars!!! I 've gone through about 4 Cort electric guitars, 2 supper strat styles, one Explorer style & a black Les Paul custom, miss those guitars!!! But you got some real nice acoustics there!!! Love your videos bro, you ROCK!!! Stay safe my friend, Rock On & God Bless!!!
There used to be Cort guitars available at shops around me ( Southwestern Ohio), nobody seems to carry them any longer. Your guitars look and sound fantastic. Loved the intro and as always your playing is spot on. I'm pretty much strictly an electric player and I only have 2 acoustics, but you've made me want to go and hunt down a Cort like yours. You know, we all need just one more guitar 😉 God bless and Happy 4th of July 🧨🎆🇺🇸
Go to Asia, and you'll find a whole bunch of Corts everywhere, they're the go to brand here, at least in south East Asia. But I've seen videos from Korea itself featuring a lot of Cort guitars.
Glad I saw this review. I was looking at getting a dreadnought but since you say it's got a thicker neck I think I'll go for a grand auditorium size. I can tell you love your guitars. Thanks for the video.
M Hill Hi! Thank you so much for watching and leaving a nice comment! I really do love my guitars...and guitars in general! I am so happy that this demo helped you make a decision! Welcome to the channel, it’s great to see you here!! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Hi, Jack. Got myself a beautiful black A8 for a great price. I couldn't be happier with it! I won't go back to my Cort all mahogany so it'll be leaving the fold. Thanks again for your video.
@@jimmythenoo365 Wow, dude, that's awesome! Congratulations! I never saw a black one...I didn't even know they came in black lol! I've seen the ones with the burst finish, and those look great, but one of these in black would look stunning, I'd imagine. That's a guitar you can do everything with. I'm selling a few guitars myself, just trying to make room in my apartment lol! I'm so glad I could help you make a decision! That makes doing these videos so rewarding! Thank you!
Hey buddy! Loved the into! Haven’t seen you lately .... Sweet guitars there. There are lots of Cor-Tek guitars around for sure and the big names know what a wonderful product they make. Lovely playing and great to see you. Be well!

Hey Peter! Great to see you, man! Thank you so much for checking it out! This was a tough one for me! I never did a 15 minute video off the top of my head, so it was a lot of fun to make! Happy 4th, brother! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
I will see you there tonight! These responses to my comments aren't getting to me, and I have to go in YT Studio to manually seek out comments I haven't replied to. Sorry for the late reply, Peter!!
Lovely job mate - that was interesting. I love the way you played the same thing on each guitar so we could try and hear the difference. Some others doing similar presentations play country on one, rock on another, etc. - makes it difficult to compare. Anyway, looks like you have a great collection and you can certainly play them!!! 👍🏻 Regards, Dave
Dave! Thanks so much for watching and leaving an awesome comment!! It's always great to see you, sir!! I have noticed in a lot of demos I watch that they play different songs, too. I wanted a fair comparison, and for people to hear the nuance of each size guitar. I am so glad you liked my demo! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
Haha, cool intro/outro. Jack! But what a nice run through on your Corts. By the time I got to the end, I was actually really impressed with the differences. I own a nice solid Jumbo size acoustic (electric), very similar to your A8. Though this demo highlights the sounds that validate I really need to get a Dreadnaught and (especially) an OM models as well. But love my jumbo. it's sound and construction were strong features. It's completely bound using mahogony and has the nice abalone rosette etc. But yes there is something really beautiful about the Corts. Am really impressed with the necks and fret work you show here. Very envious, in a healthy way my friend. Beautiful guitars and allows me to appreciate the sound you get. (typo edits!)
TREVOR!!! Thanks dude!! I love the OM model...I think it's my favorite for overall playing. I have a bunch of Dreads, and this Cort sounds special...although, I could never part with any of them hahaha!! The frets are what really sold me on these, after I heard them. The sounds are so nice in the room!! Thanks for leaving such an awesome comment, and for the watch!! You rock, man! I really appreciate all that you do for this community!! I hope the move went well!! Bless you! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Awesome man. Still packed and waiting for the lift this coming Tuesday. Cannot wait to get settled and recording again too! Peace bro! :)
This is probably something you did not know, but Cort is on the top of their game in Asia, i kinda see them as Yamaha level brand. They're really buried under other brands in the west though, especially the US.
Oh wow, no I didn't know! I made these videos because when I was looking for information on these Gold Series acoustics, I found virtually nothing. I always tell my buddies how great these instruments are, and how cost effective for gigging musicians, but they never understood until they came by to actually play them. I'm not surprised they are killing it in the Asian market. I own quite a few Cort guitars and one of their bass guitars; they are all outstanding quality. Thanks for the information, and thanks for checking out my video! 🐰💜🙏🎸🎶🤝✌
Great upload and really cool intro!! I love an collect my instrument too! I have used money I earn busking to buy all three of my pianos! You have some great guitars!!
Wow, Lilly, that’s so cool! I bet you have some amazing stories and lots of great friends! I was always very shy and never thought I was any good at music, since I am self taught. Great review! Your video helps to make the decision towards an A8. Need an all rounder cut-away model. The 6 series seems more balanced for the recordings. But from my experience rosewood backs have extended low end and bright highs, to me rosewood guitars sounds better in realife than in recordings (tends to be bright). The extended low end is very helpful for strumming in a GA bodied guitar. I'm considering to get D'addario .11 PB to tune down the brightness a little. My experience is that elixor nanoweb, even the pb series is a little bright compare to d'addario which as a woodier sound. The electronics on these seem really nice, always wanted a hyrbid electronics that has a mic on them.
Oh, that’s awesome, man! Thank you so much for the comment and for watching! You will love the A8...it’s really a beautiful instrument. I think the D’addario strings will do just what you said; I use the Elixir strings because I have so many guitars, and I don’t like changing strings every week lol! The electronics are really good in the A8, too. The mic blend works great on stage and for recording direct if needed. I’m really happy that this video helped you! Thanks again fo4 r watching and leaving a nice comment! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Just got the A8.. Such a gorgeous instrument! Pretty heavy with extended bottom and top end sound. Love it! The look & details really stands out. Of course it sounds nice but there are also other alternatives that sounds good with a simple appearance (I have seagull guitars thats belong to this category).
Hi!! I like down tuning because it puts less tension on the top, so it’s able to vibrate more freely. My voice is technically in the baritone range, so it helps with that, too. Thanks for checking it out, and leaving a sweet comment!! 🐰❤️🙏🌸🎸🎶🤝✌️
Those are awesome I used to have a lefty Cort Acoustic it wasn't to nice though it had plastic tuning keys but it sounded and looked nice just didnt get the plastic tuning keys one of them broke on me lol Rock On Jack Nice Video!!
Beautiful Guitars Jack! At some point i have to get my Hands around some of these Cort Guitars. Never read anything bad about them but also i never had a Chance to test one somewhere. Seems none of my Shops have that Brand in their Catalogue. Btw: I admit... i have to steal these beautiful Chords at 4:28 from you. Sounds Fantastic :)
I live in India. I learned about Cort a6, a8 guitars from your videos. Thank you so much for that. Your playing is great. There is no one else who can explain it as well as you. The price of Cort a8 is much higher here So I think I'll take a6. Cort a6 price is not too low. Slightly less than a8 . Cort has another guitar Core oc. This guitar has three models. All blackwood, sprouse and mahogany, all mahagony . The price of this guitar is much less than those two guitars . But this guitar pickup system is like the Martin. Inside the sound hole. and it only has tone and volume options. I don't know what to do. I don't play the guitar professionally. I play at home . I like it. So I wonder if it would be right to spend so much money?
Hello! Thank you so much!! 😊 Well...If you don't need the electronics, I wouldn't bother; it can be expensive to add a pickup system to a guitar that doesn't come with one. I know these guitars are not cheap, but they are a very good value for what you get. The A6 is an awesome guitar! I actually prefer mahogany back and sides...to me, mahogany is the king of the tone-woods. Get the best guitar you can afford, and one you will want to pick up and play! If the A6 is closer to what you can afford, don't worry, because there's no compromise in quality of sound or build. Having a microphone inside the guitar does make it easier to do certain things, like getting a good recording in a noisy environment. I'm very blessed to have these instruments, and I enjoy showing other people how great they are! I hope whatever you get, you make lots of great music with it! Thanks again for watching, and for the kind words! 🐰💜🙏🎸🎶🤝✌
You play the guitar very well and you are very good as a human being. I commented to you yesterday and you answered immediately. You have replied to all those who have commented here. Not everyone is exactly like that. Jack I want to buy one of these two Cort a6 or Cort core oc. Can cort a6 be called professional or stage guitar? Another thing is that I don't want to change guitars again and again. I'll take it once. For lifetime. Can Cort gold a6 or Cort core oc be taken as such? Many of us here have this idea that nothing is good in China. It is better if it is made in Indonesia or in America. There are two musicians I know who have such an idea. What do you say about this?
Hello again, Santu! Thank you very much for the kind words! I really appreciate that! I don't have any experience playing the Cort OC collection, but I know they are all solid woods, just like the A6. Both of these models would be great for professional applications, and will sound "better" as they age. IMHO, the A6 is a great stage instrument, and a great songwriting guitar. I would have no problem with having an A6 as my lifetime guitar...it truly is a beautiful instrument. I think China can build anything. They are known for "cheap" things, but they also build very sensitive microchips, iPads, iPhones and Apple computers...so they have the ability and knowledge to build amazing guitars! It all depends on the specifications the manufacturer is given. Cort ghost builds guitars for many "high end" manufacturers, and they know what they are doing. From my experience, Cort seems to have high quality standards, and I have yet to find a dud. I wouldn't bother with country of origin, unless it's a political issue for you, personally. I know some folks here in the USA will refuse to buy Chinese guitars, because they think the jobs should stay in the USA, or they cite human rights issues - although, I don't see human rights issues with guitar building. Indonesia makes great instruments, too, but I wouldn't not buy a Chinese made instrument just because it was made in China. I mean, I bought all my Cort guitars myself - with my own money - so I know they are great! I would never recommend something I don't believe in. I am a musician, not a salesman. Anyway, I hope this helps a little! I know it's tough when you can't play these instruments yourself. With these guitars, I find that the biggest difference is in the nut width. I think the A6/D6/A8/D8 has a 43mm nut, and the O8/O6 has a 45mm nut. I don't know, off the top of my head, what the nut width is on the OC series. It may be something you want to look into, if it matters to you. 🙂
wow the OC6 just has that ethereal feel to it! Can’t wait to have one! One question is, for you, isn’t it lacking in terms of low end specially when compared to the D or A models?
Hey man, thanks for checking out my channel. The O6 is awesome. I still have it after all these years, and it’s one of my favorite guitars to write songs with. If you’re comparing it to the others, then yes, it is “lacking” in bottom end…however, as far as any other OM shaped instruments I’ve played, this one definitely holds its own with more expensive instruments. I sold the D6, as I don’t really like big guitars. I still have the A8, and that’s the one I grab when performing live, since it has everything I need built in. If you play primarily fingerstyle, like I do, you won’t miss the extra bass. If you’re a heavy strummer, get something with a bigger body. I hope that helps! Peace. 🐰🎸🎶✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic thanks..I upgraded from 880CE..😁..it’s cheaper in Asia as most of it being produced in Indonesia..one of the largest factory for many brands..
Hey, thanks so much for watching and commenting! They are really sweet instruments, so I’m sure you will not regret your decision! The O6 was the first of the Gold series that I bought, and I loved it so much, I got the other two within a month of each other hahaha! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
Hey Jack! Great vids! I was wondering if you have played the A6. Based strictly on sound, I think I prefer the mahogany back and sides to the pau ferro. I have an A6 on pre-order with musicians Friend.... If they ever get it in. Got a great price match using a Reverb sale. I was having a hard time deciding between the A8 and the A6. I really like the look of the 8s, but I think I prefer the sound of the 6s. Any input on the difference between the sound (resonance, overtones, warmth, brightness etc.) Would be helpful! Thanks! All the guitars sound great. BTW, I probably will be stringing with Elixir 80/20 mediums, and tuning down a half step. Let me know what you think!
Hi Jesse!! Great to see you! Congrats on your purchase! You're gonna love the A6!! I actually prefer the sound of the A6/mahogany to the A8/pau ferro, but the pau ferro has it's benefit, especially in an electric instrument (IMHO) because of the articulation you get from it. Mahogany has a more natural "compressed" sound, where as the pau ferro is more like rosewood, where you get the low and highs, but not as much middle frequency. The 80/20 strings enhance the "brightness" and "scooped mids" sound, but I prefer that brightness when it's electrified. The A8 is MUCH heavier...IDK if it's just due to electronics being installed, but it weighs a lot more. All three of these guitars resonate really well, but the pau ferro seems more dense, so it makes it vibrate in a "different" way...which is why I wanted to add it to the collection. It brings out more of the highs vs mahogany with very subtle highs. I prefer the mahogany with phosphor bronze strings when I am recording with mics, and just for everyday playing. I really like the overtones I get with them, and the "warmth" the give me. The 80/20's will sound great on the mahogany, since the strings will bring a little more "zing" to the guitar. Mahogany is generally thought of as a "warm and earthy" sounding wood, and brings out a lot of the mid-range. On the A6, with sitka spruce top, the mahogany will mellow the sound and slightly reduce some of the overtones. The 80/20 strings will help bring out some of the highs and lows. I think it will be a great balance. I really like the black binding of the 6 series, as it's a more understated look. The fretboard inlays are fancier on the 8 series, but I prefer the understated 6, again. I really got the A8 because it was a really great deal, and I already had the two 6 series guitars. I wanted to try the pau ferro out, and I am glad I did, since it is a "stage" guitar. If I were just going to use it at home or for recording, as a "do-it-all" guitar, the A6 would be my choice. It is great for both strumming, and fingerstyle! I think you'll be really happy with the A6!! Let me know how you like it when it arrives! Happy new gear day!! lol! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Thank you for the great response. That's pretty much all the information I could ask for and more! I am really looking forward to getting it shipped out, but the date has already been pushed back once. It's probably a good thing though, as I need to practice patience lol. After all the research that I have done, it seems to be the best all around guitar that I could buy for the price. I like the fact that they are very understated, and underrepresented. No one that I know has one, or even knows about them! I should be getting it sometime in the early part of August. Thank you again, very much for your response. I feel more confident about my purchase!
Jack the Rabbit that is a very detailed answer! Thanks man! I too was trying to decide between 6s and 8s and I think I’ll go with 6 series now. If I go with a6 though, will I be losing on too much lows compared to d6. Of course the dreadnought will have a upper-hand here. But in your opinion, is the difference drastic? I just love that warm, boomy sound of the d6 in your video.
Mohak Shah Hey dude, thank you so much! I think you will be happy with the A6. It’s really a “jack of all trades” when it comes to its sound. Since it is the “middle size” between the dreadnought and the Orchestra Model, the Auditorium size guitar has a nice low end and nice highs. If you put on phosphor bronze strings, you will get a really sweet sound from the A6! Nothing will come close to an actual dreadnought size for power, and that boomy low end they are known for, but the Auditorium is really close. 🐰❤️🤝✌️

I want to help, so whatever you want to know, just ask, and I will happily make a longer review, and go over care of these solid wood acoustic guitars. Rock on, my friend! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
Hi, I bought the O6 and love the sound. Im now consider buying the d6, is the neck shape and feel the same as O6 and is the string distance same for pickinghand on both guitars? I know the nut differs. Thanks for making this vid, it made me choose this O6 over taylors and martins 😊
Hey Swalle! That's awesome, congrats on the new O6!🤘 That's my favorite of the ones I bought. So, the D6 is a narrower nut width, so the string spacing is also tighter. It's better for strumming big cowboy chords, but fingerstyle is definitely possible. The neck shape itself is very similar, if not the same. The neck on all the Gold Series seems to be about the same profile, but the width of each varies, due to differences in nut width...I hope that made sense, lol! Thanks a lot for the great comment, and the kind words! 🐰💜🙏🇺🇲🎸🎶🤝✌
Have you tried their bevelled models? What do you think of it? Do you like the bevel? I wish they had a bevelled gold a6 without a pickguard, actually they have it but it is a limited edition that costs much more. They also have other bevelled GA guitars but they don’t have that classy gold look and aged wood.
Hi!! Thanks for the question! I have looked into their beveled series guitars and I really love the look. I agree on the pickguard, but I think they grew on me lol. I was really drawn to the specs of the Gold Series, because of the aged tops and nice woods used. I'm sure the Beveled Series are awesome, as well, but I've got no experience playing them. I have to order these guitars online, and I have nowhere to try any Cort guitars before I buy them. I trust the quality and performance of these Gold Series, but all the Cort guitars I own are great. I also have a few electric guitars made by them. I would love to try the Beveled ones, but I'm afraid I'll like it too much and then not play my regular guitars lol! I'm sure it's really comfortable to play! 🐰💜🙏🎸🎶🤝✌
wahyu Irfansyah hello! The action on all of these is very nice. It’s not too high, but not too low. It can be lowered if you like very low action, but the way these came to me from the retailer, the action was perfect. I appreciate the watch and the comment! Thank you! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
Awesome video... love the honesty in your presentation! My only question is... does the right hand version sound as good. In all seriousness, how is the action/ set up from the factory. Considering an A8 gold tribevel vs an $8000 Taylor sinker
Lol! I know...I recorded this on a new phone and had no idea the phone only flips the video when you ask it to 😅 Thank goodness I figured it out for my other vids! Too funny! The action on all 3 of my Cort Gold series guitars was great out of the box. I had to do no setups, and I generally like lower action. Keep in mind, I live in San Francisco, where the temperature and humidity are pretty much the same year-round. I’m not sure how they would hold up in a tropical/humid climate, or a super dry and cold climate, but I am sure they are great in most climates. I have my eye on the Gold Edge LE right now. I’m trying to contact Cort to see if I can work out a deal hahaha! Maybe I can get a sponsorship or something...that would be amazing; I really like their instruments a lot, and have no problems with paying full price, though. I can’t get into Taylor’s, I feel they’re way overpriced. I feel the same about Martin and Gibson, too...they are not worth it unless you plan to hang onto them and sell them in 40 years for a large profit. I would never buy another Martin or Gibson again unless I was going to “collect”, and I have yet to play a Taylor I felt was a good value for my money. The reason I made these Cort Gold videos was because they’re amazing value, amazing sound, and the build quality it really good. No one was talking about them online, and I couldn’t find any information or demos or reviews...I just had to share with my fellow acoustic players how great these guitars are. Great guitars like these should not be a secret to other players! Anyway, I really appreciate the comment and thank you for watching!! Lemme know what you end up with, I love to hear guitar stories!! Happy New Year! 🐰❤️🙏🎊🎸🎶✨🤝✌️
They sound very different. I am not a really a dreadnought fan, as I prefer smaller bodied guitars. I only own dreads for recording purposes, but I am currently selling most of my dreads. I am keeping the A8 because it has electronics, and it’s my go-to gigging instrument. Whichever one you choose will be a sweet guitar; it’s just about preference, really. Thank you so much for the comment! 🐰❤️🙏🇺🇸🎸🎶🤝✌️
Nice Job on the Video, love that Acoustic Sound! These are not super expensive or super cheap in price, as they are quality built. I may have to save up a little to buy one but I love the mix of both sound and quality for under $1000. Can you refer a distributor on the west coast that sells these guitars? Thanks for the Tip on tuning down the strings for sound and playability as I always forget to do that. Thumbs Up!
Hey George! Thank you very much! I really appreciate the kind words. A west coast dealer...I'm not sure. I got mine from Virginia and Florida, but my buddy, Dane, at ZIMM's guitar sells Cort. I'm not sure if he's got the Gold Series though. He's in Arizona. You can Google his shop and give him a call. He's usually there, and tell him Jack the Rabbit sent you. Happy New Year! 🐰🙏💜🎸🎶💥🤝✌
What awesome guitar playing skills you have! You introduced me to Cort guitars. Never heard of them. I’m interested in getting a Gold D8. Any thoughts?
I love it! Haha! Seriously though, they're great guitars. The A8 is the only 8 series guitar I have, but I really like the Pau Ferro. It has a crisp sound, a little like rosewood, but it's slightly punchier. It has very pretty overtones, too. I think it's a great guitar for anyone, from a beginners to more advanced players, and the price is on point. It's tough to find this kind of quality in an acoustic sub $1000.00. What amazed me most are the fret ends! I'm sure you won't be disappointed in this guitar. I really appreciate the comment and thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any other questions! 🐰💜🙏🎸🎶🤝✌
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Thank you for your prompt reply. I really like acoustic guitars that are made of all-solid woods. But, I'm not into premium name brands as my level of playing will not justify buying one. That's what got me into the Epiphone Masterbilt acoustic guitars in 2014. Because they are so affordable, I have so far, ended up owning 4. I am waiting for the 2 new ones that are coming out. But, because of the COVID-19, the wait time is... to infinity and beyond. Anyway, I think your review of the Cort acoustic guitar of which it showed you purchased 3, tells a lot. It literally proves how happy you were with your purchase. Can you point me to a Cort Dealer? Thanks again.😷
@@mr3klax Thanks so much! I actually have one more on the way...at the end of October I will receive a Cort Gold P6. I want to try their whole line. I have 2 washburn parlor guitars here, and I'd like to do a little shoot-out lol! Anyway, are you in the USA? If you are, Wire Meets Wood or The Gator Tone on Reverb.com If you're in Asia, there is a dealer in Korea...in the town of Busan, I think. I forgot their name, but if you look on Reverb you can probably find one. I know everything is backed up with the Covid. That's why I am waiting until October to get my P6. I ordered it in July lol!
@@JackTheRabbitMusic That was fast! You got me. Yes, I'm Asian. And yes, I'm in the USA. I was just on Reverb's website and looking at the Gold D8 in Light Burst. And Wire Meets Wood is pretty much the only US-seller I saw. I usually get my stuff online from Sweetwater since 2013. But, it seems like they don't carry Cort guitars. Thanks again!
Hello, and thanks so much! I just used my phone to record this one. Its a Samsung Galaxy S10+...it's got stereo mics. I found that it captures the sound I hear in the room very well. The O6 was the first one I bought, and after I played it, I loved it, so I bought the D6 to try. A few months later, I got the A8 (because I got a smoking deal on it, not really because I needed it lol). I have to say, the O6 is my favorite of the Gold series. I have ordered their P6 parlor with mahogany back and sides, but they're out of stock until the end of October. Hopefully, I'll have it here before Thanksgiving, and I'll demo that against my 2 Washburn parlors I have here. These little demos are pretty fun to make, and I'm glad you found it! Thanks again! 🐰💜🙏🎸🎶🤝✌
Hey Don! Thanks for checking it out! I am not familiar with the Epiphone necks, but the neck is extremely comfortable. I have a slim D neck on another guitar, but not an epiphone. It's a very easy to play neck. 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
Hey man! I personally prefer the mahogany B/S for fingerpicking, because I like the "warmer" tone of th mahogany. The Pau Ferro has a lot more complex overtones, which kinda get in the way when fingerpicking. 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎵🤝✌️
Hi Andrea! Thanks so much for watching! In terms of sound, the D6 is fuller and has more low end, due to the bigger body size. The O6 is more mid-range and is "better" for recording...it's just easier to EQ in a mix. They both have advantages, but for fingerstyle (which I usually play), I prefer the O6. The D6 is a "better" choice for full open chords and strumming. Either one is great, it really comes down to if you're comfortable holding a dreadnought; It's a big guitar, with a big sound. I hope that helps! 🐰💜🙏⚘🎸🎶🤝✌
Beautiful guitars, and you get some lovely clear tones out of them Jack. That tone suits you voice really well too (if they are the ones you played on some of your songs?) I like the clarity of notes, and the mellow curl to the top end. If you dig in hard, do they get crisper, or grungier? Thanks Jack great review, listening to a real player like yourself give their opinion is the best way to judge if a guitar has any merit.
Thank you so much, Ian!! It means a lot coming from a musician of your caliber! I play the O6 and the A8 in a few videos..."release me" is done on the A8! I don't think I have done a song with the D6, only because I usually grab a smaller bodied guitar when I sing. I use the Dreadnoughts for songs with more strumming, or when I want that huge sound in a recording. If I dig in hard, they get crispy, for sure. Very bell-like quality to the overtones in person. If you dig in with a pick, they can get a little more grungy sounding, but generally, they have a very "pretty" sound. You rock, brother! Thanks again for checking it out!! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Thanks for the extra info bro. They look and sound amazing, and not over-priced from what I've seen. Rounded overtones and good for bluesy twists, what more can you ask from an acoustic (apart from maybe one that cooks, cleans, and tucks you in at night - maybe one day!)
Hey Jack the Rabbit, I am thinking of buying Cort Gold A8. How do you rate this guitar? Is it good for fingerstyle guitar? How is the factory action at the 12 fret? Does it need additional set up? Please help me decide. Thank you.
Hey Saroj! Thank you so much for checking out my video, I appreciate it. To answer your question: My rating is 5 stars, because the A8 is an amazing stage guitar, as well as a “couch” guitar. The Fishman Flex Blend system is really beautiful. I plug my guitar straight into the P.A for live gigs, and I only need to EQ it for the venue. I mix the mic blend at ~25% and it sounds awesome. It’s the perfect “do-it-all” guitar. I have more expensive instruments, but the A8 is the only one I will gig with. I use a feedback suppressor in the soundhole, to avoid feedback at louder stage volumes. It is my favorite gigging instrument, and I would buy another immediately, should mine be stolen or damaged by accident. It’s versatile enough to play strumming and finger style with ease. The nut width is nice and wide, with lots of room for my fingers. It’s very comfortable to play. The action is perfect for me, and I like my action pretty low. At fret 12, it came out of the box and needed no setup at all. If I wanted to, I could lower the action, because the fretwork is incredibly good. I just left it alone. I did have to do setups on all of my Martin guitars, but all three Cort Gold series that I own were great right out of the box. The intonation was dead on accurate, and it just plays like a dream. If they told me the A8 cost $1500.00 I would buy it, and at the price they’re selling for, it is worth it! You get a lot of guitar for the money, and the sound is so sweet. I don’t work for a Cort, and I am not in any way affiliated with the company. I just really think these guitars are awesome! Lemme know if you have any other questions, and if i can answer, I will. Thank again for checking it out! 🐰🇺🇸❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic thank you so much for your reply! Keep up the good work. you helped me a lot! Cort has some new guitars like Cort the Puzzle, Roselyn, Edge le ..there are not much reviews about the guitars. they might be good.
@@mypianojourney706 Oh, yeah, I've seen those and they look amazing! Cort makes really quality instruments at an amazing value. I have to buy all my guitars, and I have too many, so I'm not going to be getting any new Cort guitars unless they want to send me some to demo, lol! I don't really want to become a salesman though. I'm just sharing my experience with everyone here, not really trying to sell anything. I'm a guitar player and I don't work at a guitar store or anything. I wish I could try everything! 😇🤘
@@JackTheRabbitMusic I think you are still unmarried that's why you can buy all yours guitars as you wish. My wife stands in the way of buying new guitars.🥺 This sucks. All the best to you . 👍🎵🎶🎸
Great demos Jack. 👍 I recently bought a Larrivee 00-40 which has a beautiful tone but lacks in playability imo, so I’m thinking of returning it. Do you still have your Washburn parlor? Have you played a Cort P06? And is that a parlor with slotted headstock behind you? Also, I noticed you had .10’s on your Larrivee OM. Should I try that on my 00 before I return it? Lots of questions I know, but I respect your opinion.
Hi Fred, thank you very much for the comment! I do still have my Washburn, I actually bought a second Washburn parlor size, a limited edition (#16 of 250 the one you see behind me with slotted headstock). I will do a demo with both parlors back to back soon. I have never played the Cort P6, but if it's anything like the Corts that I own, I can absolutely vouch for the quality. What do you have on the Larrivee now for strings? When I got it, it was strung with .13's and they had way too much tension and wouldn't let the top breathe. I put the .10's on it, but restrung it just last night with .11-.52 D'Addario XT's. I really love it more now than with the .10's, but the .10's were a HUGE improvement over the .13's. I usually experiment with strings because each guitar wants different things to truly sing. I would definitely try some lighter strings if you are running .12's or heavier. It would cost $10 to find out if you like them, and if not, no big deal, you can always return it. I would at least give it a shot, though. I hope that helps! Thanks again! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
Thank you! Oddly I can’t find what the 00 stock strings are, their website doesn’t provide it, but judging from a couple comments in forums, they may ship with mediums so I’m going to take your advice and try .11’s. I also have a Furch 00 with cedar top and rosewood, which is a dream guitar in every way; tone, build, aesthetics, and played easily the first time I took it out of the box. It has bell like chime, much like your Cort with slightly softer/warmer highs. I bought the Larrivee with the dry woody tone to compliment the Furch so I would prefer to make it playable for me. I wish it had a shorter 25 in. scale and the neck is a bit too flat but if a lighter gage string helped with the tension I could adapt to the neck. I’ve subscribed and look forward to browsing your music, as well as the Washburn parlor comparison. At this point the only 2 guitars on my radar if the Larrivee doesn’t work out is a Washburn parlor and the Yamaha Red Label FS5 (it’s small body with a 25 in. scale, 1 3/4 nut, and the tone I’m looking for). Cheers 🍻
@@fredflinstone3173 Oh man, I almost bought a Furch a few months back, but instead got a Breedlove with sinker redwood over rosewood. I have wanted a redwood topped guitar ever since I first set foot in the redwood forest, here in California. They are magical trees. I still will probably get a Furch at some point, but I am saving up for a Santa Cruz. Furch is one brand I have never played, but every demo I hear is outstanding!! I definitely would not be afraid to buy one sight unseen. I also have a Yamaha LSTA, which I adore. Yamaha makes really great acoustics. It's hanging behind me, next to the Washburn and my Gibson SG lol! It has the actuator with reverb and chorus built in. It's a really fun guitar to show people, as the reactions are priceless. Thank you so much for checking out my stuff! Any time you wanna talk guitars, you know how to reach me haha!! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️
Hi Jack,I don't know if you ever played the GS MINI TAYLOR or not but if you did can you tell me the comparison in the sound difference? I would appreciate it .
Hey Michael! I have played a few GS Mini Taylors, as well as Martin Lx1(E)'s and the Harley Benton GS Mini clone (which I own). If you want something smaller than the O6, I would recommend the little Martin over the Taylor GS Mini. With a new Taylor GS Mini, about $150.00 is going to pay for the name on the headstock alone. The Martin LX1(E) is a "better" value, in that it's a name brand, but it's actually reasonably priced - and if you opt for the electronics, it's still less than the Taylor. Neither the LX1(E) or the GS Mini are solid woods, which leaves the Cort as standing alone in the pack. Since the O6 is all solid wood, you will see a nice change in the tone as the wood ages; the Taylor and Martin will sound the same with 1000 hours of playing time as they did when they came from the factory. My Cort sounds better the more it's been played. The Cort also sounds "better", being an all solid wood instrument. With the Martin and Taylor, you will have the name brand behind you, should you want to sell them later on. Although you will find quite a few of these GS Mini's used, it's a rare find to see a Cort Gold series acoustic listed as "used"; I think anyone who owns one will keep it for a long time. They (Cort) are superior in build quality and sound. For the same money as a GS Mini, you will have a "professional" instrument, being all solid wood construction. Also, the fretwork on the Cort is better than my $2500.00+ guitars. I have never seen fretwork this good on anything from a factory, but Cort does it right! I wish they paid me to say nice things, but I don't get paid by anyone. These are my real feelings and opinions, so I hope it helps you make a decision. No matter what you choose, I hope you love it! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎵🤝✌️
it's tough to describe a sound difference, but the GS Mini sounds more dull and doesn't have as many pleasing overtones (it's a laminate guitar). Which GS were you looking at? There are Koa, Mahogany, and Spruce topped GS Minis...they're all slightly different.
I have a koa GSM. It sounds pretty good ,for the size of it but I think listening to you play and all of the others I believe the Cort sounds like a more open professional guitar .The gs MINI has a closed box tone so to speak so I will order a Cort 06 as soon as I finish chatting with you. I really do Thankyou for answering all of my questions that I asked. I will get back to you after I get it and play it to let you know how I like it if that's ok with you. PS., You can really play beautiful.
Thanks for the review. Curious why the logo was backwards. Video from a mirror or did you just horizontaly flip the vid? TY, I'm looking at the nylon string version. Your review still helpful about the brand. Beautiful guitars man. Peace, safe!
Hey James, thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment! I had just gotten a new cell phone when I recorded this video, and I didn't realize that the video was flipped automatically by the phone. I have changed the camera settings since, so it's not a problem anymore. 😂 My main concern is/was the audio, because that's what I needed to come across accurately...I hope that was alright 👍 If you can find a nylon version for sale, they're really beautiful instruments; I'm sure you will love it. I've actually got my D6 for sale right now on my Reverb.com store, because I need to let a few guitars go this year, hahaha! Thanks again for checking out my channel...and peace, dude! 🐰💙🙏💜🎸🎶🤝✌
Hello! Thanks for watching! I prefer the 45mm nut. Is it a big difference, well, it depends how long you've been playing, and what style player you are. I rarely play with a pick, and for fingerstyle, 45mm nut is more comfortable (to me). I will play on any size neck, but definitely prefer a 45mm nut width. My favorite of the bunch is the O6. If I were to only keep one, the O6 would stay. I hope that helps a little! 😃 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!! 🐰💜🙏🎸🎶🤝✌
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

@@JackTheRabbitMusic Cool, and it's not because it was too long to watch, because I really like when someone shows and talk about their Guitars, it's only because it was so late and too tire to enjoy it in a good way. As I said, I took a note in agenda. I'll be back to ya on this one for sure

That’s a great idea to tune down to D for playability
Hi!! I like down tuning because it puts less tension on the top, so it’s able to vibrate more freely.
My voice is technically in the baritone range, so it helps with that, too.

Well...If you don't need the electronics, I wouldn't bother; it can be expensive to add a pickup system to a guitar that doesn't come with one.
Peace. 🐰🎸🎶✌️
Nice guitars!
Thanks J!!! Rock on, man!! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶🤝✌️

@@JackTheRabbitMusic thanks..I upgraded from 880CE..😁..it’s cheaper in Asia as most of it being produced in Indonesia..one of the largest factory for many brands..
I was thinking of picking up a Guild OM-140CE, but now it might be a Cort Gold O6 since I don't need the electronics.
Happy new gear day!! lol!

Thank you for the great response.
@@JesseLaBatte Awesome man! So happy I can actually help you out! Have a great weekend, my friend!

How about the action string of those guitar, Especially for A8 ?
wahyu Irfansyah hello! The action on all of these is very nice. It’s not too high, but not too low. It can be lowered if you like very low action, but the way these came to me from the retailer, the action was perfect. I appreciate the watch and the comment! Thank you! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic thanks mate for the reply
They all sound great. Im really torn between getting an A6 and D6. Ive only ever played a dreadnaught so im not sure if i want a cut away or not?
They sound very different. I am not a really a dreadnought fan, as I prefer smaller bodied guitars.
I only own dreads for recording purposes, but I am currently selling most of my dreads. I am keeping the A8 because it has electronics, and it’s my go-to gigging instrument. Whichever one you choose will be a sweet guitar; it’s just about preference, really.
Thank you so much for the comment! 🐰❤️🙏🇺🇸🎸🎶🤝✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic thanks for the reply.👍🏻🤘
If you are, Wire Meets Wood or The Gator Tone on Reverb.com
If you're in Asia, there is a dealer in Korea...in the town of Busan, I think.

This guitar (O6) was totally off my radar. It sounds great. What were you using for a mic to record you playing this?
Question about the A8 - what is the neck profile like in comparison to something like the Epiphone slim taper D?
Hey Don! Thanks for checking it out! I am not familiar with the Epiphone necks, but the neck is extremely comfortable. I have a slim D neck on another guitar, but not an epiphone. It's a very easy to play neck. 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶🤝✌️
what's better for picking and fingerpicking mahogany or Pau a6 or a8
Hey man! I personally prefer the mahogany B/S for fingerpicking, because I like the "warmer" tone of th mahogany. The Pau Ferro has a lot more complex overtones, which kinda get in the way when fingerpicking. 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎵🤝✌️
Thanks for this Video Jack. What do you think in terms of sound comparing the D6 gold and cort core OC (body shape)? Thank you

@@mypianojourney706 Oh, yeah, I've seen those and they look amazing! Cort makes really quality instruments at an amazing value. @@mypianojourney706 lol...yes! Hahaha! Very true! Thank you so much!
Great demos Jack. 👍
I recently bought a Larrivee 00-40 which has a beautiful tone but lacks in playability imo, so I’m thinking of returning it.
I'm sorry Jack ,I meant the difference between the O6 and GSM TAYLOR.

@Jack the Rabbit ah, makes sense about the new phone. The audio was just fine. All the best!
Is it noticible the difference in nut width 43mm vs 45mm when you play on dreadnought vs GA? Which width do you prefer or it doesn't matter?
