It is true. To look at him no one would realize he is a monster. That's not to say that he is not jacked or to take anything away from him. He looks like a guy who works on a farm or a ranch. No one on the street would look at him and realize he is one of the strongest human beings on the planet.
Ian's strength is unbelievable, He's 19/20 years old and his competition PRs of 170/205 for a total of 375kg would have been good enough for 9th in London 2012. Can't wait to see him in 2016 and especially 2020, USA's only promising weightlifter other than possibly Kendrick Farris.
Something tells me that as I move through my weightlifting "career" I will turn out like Ian Wilson. He's 6'1 and I'm tipping it at 6'3. He's just so fuckin strong it makes me feel like that's impossible.
I learned a couple things today; if jerking 190kgs is as easy as it looks I'm fixing to PR today! and I need a new hat to wear backwards to boost my lifts.
I think Shaneen will be ridiculous when he gets his base strength up. How many people have such technique that they can C&J 75% of their max deadlift and snatch 65% of deadlift. Those are pretty much the exact ratios Klokov has if not better
Right. My argument is that his PR Clean and Jerk and Snatch aren't as efficient as one would think, given that he did 182kgx5 on BS, 200kgx3, and 170kgx1 FS back in October. He's doing well, but there can be so much more there.
not seen the elevated weighted squats before (on the boxes that Rob was doing), for what reason/issue would you pick that or utilise that particular accessory movement?
It's called a Belt Squat, there is a specific machine made for the movement but this way works perfectly. It's a way to squat to completely take your back out of the movement. I love them
Training PRs. When he his 170/205, he'd never hit anything above 162.5 and 195 or something in training. Says he's looking for 170 and 212.5 before nationals and plans on going for the national records of 177.5 (I think) and 220
Ah, ok. Quite rare that someone lifts that much more than previous PRs in a competition. Must've had a pretty good day then. :) Looked it up last week, apprently his 170, 205 and 375 total are all American junior records. It'll be interesting to follow his progress.
Ian's a machine bro... My head literally exploded when I found out he's like 21 (now), meaning he was like 17-19yo when I was seeing him blow up all over the interwebs cleaning 400+. What the fuck this kid eat as a baby? Bear liver?
misztal2112 american lifters tend to be less explosive and slower under the bar. zygmunt smalcerz, the head weightlifting coach of the US olympic lifting team even said it himself before
lol i honestly dont know bout dat man, but i wouldnt be surprised tbh, since most of the genetically gifted and athletic american athletes go into big sports like football or basektball instead. i dont need to go into details, but if you do a simple google search youll see a pretty good hypothesis about the system of american weightlifting that could possibly explain the lack of explosive american lifters
right, that's why he did the squats from the hip. i thought he was doing this to relearn something. but i knew something was up when i saw those squats
Any one who does Olympic lifts on the regular is a straight up animal!!! Mad props!!!
Ian's speed is actually just ridiculous -- looks like he's playing around with styrafoam plates.
I was relaxing watching at home watching tv, saw this clip, now I am going to the garage to lift instead of watching my fav show.
Ian is so strong it just makes no sense at all. I mean that's fucking 190kg he's throwing around what even is going on I don't
It really is hard to believe, its unfathomable
the craziest thing is, he looks.... so normal. DHEL?
It is true. To look at him no one would realize he is a monster. That's not to say that he is not jacked or to take anything away from him. He looks like a guy who works on a farm or a ranch. No one on the street would look at him and realize he is one of the strongest human beings on the planet.
How does one even get to that level? I mean seriously, he's lifting more than Spencer. Insane
Any clue how tall he is?

He is actually the "biggest fish" in american weigthlifting :)
clean with reserve!
Something tells me that as I move through my weightlifting "career" I will turn out like Ian Wilson. He's 6'1 and I'm tipping it at 6'3. He's just so fuckin strong it makes me feel like that's impossible.
who is that manhorse outlifting spencer with ease
Future Olympian at the rate he is going.
jaysus, how old is he?
kevin clancy Either 19 or 20 at this point.
I'll see if I can improve my clean and jerk by 110kg in three years
he is the top 105kg lifter in the united states at the moment
Danny still squatting. I guess this has become a trope /memetic at this point.
Good to see Rob starting to clean again, must have been difficult to sit out the injury. Shaheen is improving quite fast!
I learned a couple things today; if jerking 190kgs is as easy as it looks I'm fixing to PR today! and I need a new hat to wear backwards to boost my lifts.
Ian is so fucking quick. Amazing lifter.
Why is Rob on the baby weights?
Also Ian's recovery on the cleans has improved immensely..
Rob is recovering from an injury
Ian is so explosive. Bet he'd do well, athletically, in other sports as well.
At 4:15 that speed standing up was scary.
i thought i would never see someone stronger than spencer their
Did Andrew go to snap city?
pls bring andrew back

I swear there was a video way back fo Shaheen Front Squatting 170kg and BS 200kgx3, though. I feel like he just doesn't train his deadlift as much.
EndlersaurusRex Weightlifters in general don't do many deadlifts.
Right. My argument is that his PR Clean and Jerk and Snatch aren't as efficient as one would think, given that he did 182kgx5 on BS, 200kgx3, and 170kgx1 FS back in October.

right, my bad
Ian wilson vs spencer moorman be great some DL and Pl and PS ? Be a great video
Dude? Who's this Ian guy? Nasty numbers he's putting up...fuck haha
Check his video doing 220kgs backsquat at 15 years old here on UA-cam
Impressive fucking lifts, Ian.
does anyone know the song at 3:20?

Ian lifted 170/205 at the junior nationals earlier this year. 167,5/203 shouldn't be PRs?
I believe they are training PRs, he hits bigger weights in competition.
Training PRs. When he his 170/205, he'd never hit anything above 162.5 and 195 or something in training. Says he's looking for 170 and 212.5 before nationals and plans on going for the national records of 177.5 (I think) and 220

Fucking hell, Ian is crazy strong.
Name of the song 0:21?
Good front squat by Larry from Groundhog Day.
song AT 4:20 PLEASE?
Ian wilson is a giant
Ian's a machine bro... My head literally exploded when I found out he's like 21 (now), meaning he was like 17-19yo when I was seeing him blow up all over the interwebs cleaning 400+. What the fuck this kid eat as a baby? Bear liver?
***** what injury is Rob recovering from?
Yeah that guy Ian is nuts, he's getting those weights up like nothing.
What is the song playing when Scott hit the 374 lb C&J?
Bonfire by childish gambino, bro
4:00 very strong.
Why does Danny always pop the bar off his back on his last rep of a squat set?
Did Ian Wilson take heavier attempts than his 167/203??
He posted a video on instagram or FB or something of him hitting 206kg.
Wilson absolutely putting everyone to shame
Isn't Ian placing his hands a little far apart in the jerk? Would that even be legal in competition? He looks like he just hit a snatch.
Ian Wilson has very little time for percentages
Why is Danny just squatting? It's been awhile since i've seen him do any of the actual lifts
But who was Rita? :(
Ian is so fast it literally looks like his lifts are fast-forwarded
+Nick Anagnost he must of been watching ilya ilyin lol
I swear I hear Erin Garcia in the back. Where's she at?
Ian wilson has a pretty decent total, 2 years from rio he could push hard.
Pretty decent? I'd hate to know what you think of mine.
ian is fkn strong
Love seeing Ian representing the US with some stupid heavy weights. Just hope he stays clean
It's like Ian is too fast to be American. Jesus
What's that supposed to mean?
misztal2112 american lifters tend to be less explosive and slower under the bar. zygmunt smalcerz, the head weightlifting coach of the US olympic lifting team even said it himself before
LazyBoyee65
Apparently Zygmunt isn't a very good coach then, is he?
lol i honestly dont know bout dat man, but i wouldnt be surprised tbh, since most of the genetically gifted and athletic american athletes go into big sports like football or basektball instead.

Yeah, That's a shame. I think USA would be competitive on the world stage if weightlifting just got more attention.
занятия со штангой ( любые ) прекрасный способ поддерживать жизненный
тонус.
someone tell Rob to pace himself people :)
what happened? injury?
right, that's why he did the squats from the hip. i thought he was doing this to relearn something. but i knew something was up when i saw those squats
*****
Fark. What did he do wrong?
lol what's with these random clips of Rob doing like 40 and 50 kilos?
he herniated a disc in his lumbar spine at a competition. He's rehabbing and they want to include him in videos because he's a fan favorite I'm sure.
Oh, I wasn't even aware he was injured. Thanks for the response!
Lan is so strong dude lol
I guess Ian and Spencer are the same weight? Doesn't look like it spencer looks way bigger, but damn Ian is strong... doesn't make sense
ian got height!
