The benefit of jump rope for me is that it helps me with my mental health. I've been depressed with life lately, and jump rope has been keeping me sane. My mental health is still a work in progress, but I'm definitely doing my best by doing the thing

It's not nice like the creators remark. You need to get more fit for your health. I can jumprope for more than an hour, haven't checked how long I can. Pretty sure I can keep at it for hours. 2.5 is way too low for heart health. Also don't just workout to lose weight. Get to ten minutes daily. You'll have a healthier lifestyle then. I jump rope atleast 25 minutes a day after I heard how 150 minutes of cardio every week will increase life expectancy from 3 to 5 times. Where as chronic smoking and diabetes reduces life expectancy 2 times. So cardio is literally the best medicine in life. Before I used to do only fifteen mins.

Today I had my very first go at using my jump rope! It’s a leather one. I adjusted the length - I’m 5’4 so my rope is 8’4 - Ive watched a couple of your tutorials- re technique, they’re brilliant. I’m keen to get my technique right from day one. I couldn’t believe that I can do it!!! I achieved a max of 12 continuous jumps - and just kept practicing for about 15 mins - a lot of stop starting etc but I loved it. I’ve always jogged, but at 59 I think jump rope will support if not, take over, my jogging. I’m checking out all your vids … and I hit subscribe a couple of days ago. I have a UA-cam channel and will feature jump rope on it - representing an older person whose looking for an alternative to jogging ,.. but before I do that I’ll give myself time to suss it out! Thanks for your valuable tips - can wait to have another go at it! I’m doing 15 mins of practice every other day … is that about right for a beginner as I stop n start a-lot at mo!

I did heel to butt jumps, so i got winded fast.
Today it was MUCH better, did 30 minutes real jump roping, with better form and less jumping height.
      Taking notes from your videos!
A few hours later i tried again, added weight in the handles as i barely felt it in my arms/shoulders before and i ditched the shoes, SO MUCH BETTER.
Did another 40min like that where i learned how much the wrist movement meant.
      It means EVERYTHING.
I got the UMI rope from amazon, its a thick rope with really nice handles of aluminum and black silicone, with bearings in them, highly recommend, and for 15-20$ you cant really go wrong.
Rope weighs 140g, and each handle weight is 100g each.
Thanks for all the tips guys, I'm excited to see where this takes me, i already got some "before" shots, cant wait for the "after" pictures.
      33 Pounds to go!
My dip station also arrived today, the hype is real!

I started to jump rope after a long lay off. So far I have pulled the muscle on my left calf. Then, just as it was getting better I pulled the muscle on my right calf. Just waiting till that heals and I will try to start again. I love skipping but it looks like I might have to skip jumping rope if my calfs cant take it.

I use a cheap plastic-rubber rope. I should prolly save up for a weighted one and maybe I'll try skipping tricks.
Oh, you're right about it being fun. It doesn't need a lot to prepare too, physically and mentally. Just do a quick warm up and you're good to go!

If jumping rope is helps to increase our height

    • @JumpRopeDudes

Nope. It might make you stand taller because you improve your posture, but height is not modified by exercise. It's a function of genetics.

Well, I am a rope jumper myself, and here is a fun fact about rope jumping: I bet the pleasure it brings, to better put it, lasts way longer than a wholesome and absolutely organic sexual experience. Jump Rope Dude is right when he says rope jumping is fun or better put it, pleasurable.
