    thank you so much for this! I am in my 30s and have been bedridden for 2 years. I have been getting very dizzy and unusual sensations when I try to get back up and about. this is very helpful to my mind, knowing that these are common feelings. I thought I was hopeless until I watched this. thank you from the bottom of my heart xoxo

    Thank you I’m just in recovery I had a brain injury and have been bedridden since October. Memory has been affected. As far as I know I woke up 3 weeks ago in bed and couldn’t get up. I’ve been doing a lot of what you say. My wife bless her has been amazing. Thanks for you video

    Thank you, I had a TBI in 2007 and have been bedbound off and on since then. I haven't been able to recover, many set-backs. Today I was at the point of giving up and accepting that I might never recover my health, but I watched your video and felt that I might give it another try. Every bone and muscle in my body hurts, i can't catch my breath, my head injuries cause severe memory loss and concentration, balance and dizziness problems, and i feel like giving up. I have very little strength, but will watch your other videos and God Willing something positive will happen. Thank you again!

      Do you have trouble talking and understanding conversations and TV? I do but I dont have a TBI and it depresses me to where I stay laying down. Now I'm to weak and my heart pounds just by trying to stand up

    Thank you for sharing this. I was really sick for almost 3 years and no dr helped me, they misdiagnosed it. None of them could understand how tired and weak I was. My body has gotten so weak and I feel like I have to learn to walk and function again.

      @Labhra Bog Woman hi I know I’m not the OP but I was misdiagnosed for years! I had extreme fatigue, weakness, migraines and much more. Turns out I have Lyme disease and 3 more tick borne illnesses. If you still don’t have answers I would highly recommend looking into tick borne illnesses. They unfortunately often go misdiagnosed/untreated:( good luck!!

    Yes, absolutely.. I was sick for a long time.. The doctors had no answers and could do very little but help manage pain and discomfort. Years and years later, very recently I discovered, that if I eat vegan ( I know, it is crazy) my symptoms decrease. I started 1March2014 and today 19February2015 I worked a full day, I got up at 5am and kept going all day till 4 in the afternoon... Awesome.. Don't give up. Pray and keep fighting

      This sounds like me... after years of false diagnosis and no answers or relief being bedridden monthly for weeks at a time keeping a vomit bowl in bed with me not being able to recover without I’v fluids, terrible acne and major muscle loss, I found out 8 mos ago I have Gastro Paresis! Changing my diet, taking probiotics and fiber, I am now able to exercise and I’m trying to build muscle back. I can get involved in my children’s school activities and take them on outings more! It’s not crazy! If you had vomiting or major stomach discomfort, brain fog, muscle loss, constipation, look into getting a gastric emptying test done to see if you have gastro paresis. I found out through an acquaintance after I had already had the test done what the term for the disease is. It has a lot to do with autoimmune disease, gallbladder surgery, back surgery by kicking the Vegas nerve can cause this, and many others like hypothyroidism etc.

      @@MERALACXBACKINGPAN I had something similar because of inflammation in my pancreas, probably from my autoimmune disease, so I have a prescription for pancreatic enzymes. I was not absorbing or digesting the food I ate very well, became quite malnourished despite supplements, but no food allergies showed up. My hair and skin look healthier, not as nauseous, not waking up the next morning with what I ate yesterday still sitting in my stomach, blood works better. Happy to hear you found relief also!

    I had a lengthy illness that went diagnosed for months and months, and morphed into other illnesses & disorders that culminated in septic shock. I was already mostly bed-bound when the septic shock took over, but it became completely immobile. It took weeks for me to be able to even stand with assistance, and another 4-6 to be able to maneuver myself to and from the bathroom with a walker. It was a slow, steady progression, but more than 2 years on now, and the sepsis destroyed both my knee joints. My mobility has been shaky & weak, and unable to go any distance without assistance. It took 2 years to pass the medical screening for knee replacement surgery. I had the first in April of this year, the 2nd about 5 weeks ago. Obviously I'm still recovering from both surgeries. Sometimes I require a walker, other times I'm stable enough with a cane. At home, I generally don't use any assisted device, but I'm careful to walk where I have some something to grab for stabilization. People don't understand the length of time recovery can take. I'm hoping that I'm at the end of the recovery process, but it has changed my life forever. I have permanent lasting disorders associated with it all, but against all odds, I am alive!!! I try to stay positive but it's hard. I hope everyone following this, or stumbling upon it like I did, recovers fully and keeps a positive attitude. You are not alone.

      @christine Elizabeth - sorry to hear this, I cannot recommend the work of Anthony William enough. It helped me understand the real cause and improve my health and now thanks to his latest book things are improving so much. Please read ALL his books, and look at free clips on his website and Instagram. He has been hearing angel since he was 4 years old, called the angel of compassion. Telling him the true cause of chronic health issues that millions suffer from and hundreds of thousands are getting well. There is a community of support on his intagram. Blessings to you 💛

    I'm not happy to be saying this.
    I lost my wife to betrayal and my newborn child to abduction. I spent two years in court attempting to resolve. and was fired from an excellent government job whilst trying to handle all this. I spiralled into a horrific mental and physical decline for 3 years and was mostly in bed. Frightening.
    I've finally been trying to walk long walks and I'm very shaken mentally and physically.
    I've walked long distances now on 20 of the last 30 days.
    It's very slow and a lot of pain, mostly in the heels.

    This was very helpful thank you - Small realistic goals. Consolidate your progress ( I found looking at my progress monthly was more helpful than say weekly which can be disheartening ). Treats. Never give up.

      Corrine Helena it took at least two years of seeing doctors before they ever mentioned to me I had a sinus polyp. Before the scan? They said it was all in my head. I guess they say that so you have to give them the fact that they did say somethings in your head. But there is nothing more hopeless than a doctor refusing to acknowledge your symptoms or to say you are making up an illness you know you have. It’s in your head till you get that image of it.

    I'm 55 severe depression landed me in the bed for 10 years. I'm trying but can barely get from point a to point b. Also was a severe opioid addict for 26 years.       Really good point Maxwell - four years on and I still reach for the SPF 50 on a regular basis. Always best to practice to protect your skin :) Thanks for sharing.

      Definitely get the sunscreen, and be sure to drink extra because often we don't sweat/self cool as well after a long illness, it's easy to get over-heated.

    I love the blister pads or Tegaderm on the spots where I get blisters. Luckily, it is summer now, so I can mostly wear my flip flops. I worked on my feet before I got sick, watching my calluses disappear was kind of amazing and scary. These are some wonderful tips!
    I got Covid-19 in August, and it's now May, I still have a lot of trouble with breathing just walking across my house. Since it's still a new and misunderstood illness, doctors are really not treating the after effects of this virus, "Long Covid" is still controversial to bring up. I also have had Lyme disease for 14 years. It gives me knee pain and the steroids from Covid caused me to gain 20 pounds, which doesn't help the joints either. I got a referral to physiotherapy, but I am doubtful that it will help. The ones I've known seem to be a bit too intense, or do not realize we were not athletes before we got sick. Trying to explain to people that I can't exercise because it hurts, not because I'm lazy, is difficult. I already force myself through quite a lot of physical pain. When we're used to doing things even though it hurts, I maybe don't listen to the signals that I should stop. I need to take it slow. I tend to feel a little better, and then overdo things to make up for some time lost while I was sick, and then I've hurt myself though for the next few days. Thanks again for the advice.

    Thank you for your video! I have just discovered your channel after discovering that my the muscles in my legs have atrophied so much that I can barely straighten them. Do you have any advice for stretching and regaining flexibility while still very inactive / mostly bedridden?

      Ashlee McKenna I started really gentle chair exercising. And start as small as possible. 5 mins. 10 mins.

    i have been bed ridden for 2 years pretty much. but i am going to a job where im gonna be up walking for 6 hours at a time. i dont think im gonna be able to do it. my body is all kinds of messed up now. do you think this wil be dangerous? i have not done any walks to work my self up to this

I would recommend you talk to a medical professional about your concerns, I am afraid it would not be a good idea for me to provide my advice as I am not a doctor.     Hi there! Thank you so much for this! I can't get over how little there is on the internet re tips and advice on the recovery process after being in bed for sometime... I am recovering from a broken back along with a few other things and my body is not doing what I'd like it to do yet, my mind is out with my friends or driving to work etc!! I just have a question if you don't mind.. you see, every time I attempt to do something, be it go for a cuppa in a cafe or do some crafts etc. my body starts getting very shakey, cold to my bones, I get a dodgy tummy and feel as though I have the flu. It takes me a day or two or rest to feel right again. Have you any experience of this? I've got the numb and tingly pinky finger and ring finger too particularly in the mornings,,, its crazy how the body responds to the recovery process!! THANKS so so much for doing this, you wouldn't believe how helpful it has been for me!

      Leanne Sweeney Hi Leanne. Firstly, thank you for the wonderful feedback. I really appreciate knowing these videos help. Secondly, it sounds like you've been having a pretty tough ride so far, so well done for sticking it out and persevering! I'm not 100% sure why you may be experiencing the shaking, cold to the bone, dodgy stomach symptoms but a couple of things spring to mind. Are you feeling especially anxious or adrenalin-filled? This might explain those symptoms...It could be your body's fight-or-flight mode being activated for some reason. It IS pretty mad how the mind, body and spirit react to any sort of recovery! If I can be of any more help then please don't hesitate to shout! :)

      Life In Recovery Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! And for the helpful response. I wouldn't say that i'd feel anxious, maybe adrenaline-filled at times when I think of it as I'm searching for the energy to do something. I get pretty extreme tiredness after or during an outing so far but I guess that's expected after being in bed for so long. My physio said it was something about my body going into shock and that is was "shutting down" but I am curious if anyone else has went through this... I think you're right I'm sure its a fight or flight thing. It's amazing how our bodies actually heal when you give it the right treatment! I'm pretty in awe of this whole situation! I'm looking forward to seeing some more of your videos they're are so helpful! Thanks again :)

    i have not stood for over 4 years. when i went to stand my feet seemed to crush or collapse beneath me. And they turned all purple in color as if bruised. But the x rays proved i sprained my feet and ankles,..JUST STANDING?? I was in such pain can you offer advice? I don't know who to ask,.?

      I think she said it best by saying start slowly. The medical medium recommends starting by doing housework, and doing more things within your ability at home. Don't push it, let it be natural. Gradual.

      A rebounder can be good as it is very good for the lymphatic system. Do a minute or two an gradually build up each day.

      Yes, stand up slowly and have some things you can hold on to. It's okay to sit back down and try again. It feels like all the blood rushes out of my head and my ears ring and things get dark. Carefully and slowly.

      i'm late, but i have pots and this happens a lot. my best tip is to stand slowly, like jessica said, and if you can manage them, do heel raises. it clenches your calf muscles and helps recirculate your blood. if it's too hard to do them, try clenching another muscle group; thighs, glutes, or even your stomach if you can. best wishes, i know how miserable it can be 🥺♥️

    REALLY ENJOYED YOUR VIDEO. I LIKE THAT YOUR SOMEONE WHO HAS REALLY BEEN THROUGH SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES TELLING HOW YOU BEGAN REGAIN GETTING YOUR STRENGTH BACK. THANK YOU, SOME VIDEOS ADVISE PRACTICALLY TELLING SOMEONE TO BEGIN DOING JUMPING JACKS AND WEIGHT LIFTING AND EXERCISING WITH RESISTING BANDS STANDING UP DOING SQUATS. I CAN BARELY STAND UP AND WALK WHEN I DO MY MUSCLES IN MY BACK HURT SO BAD I CRY AND I FEEL LIKE MY BACK MY HIPS ,GLUTES , LEGS BURN LIKE I'M LITERALLY ALL THE WAY DOWN TO MY FEET LIKE IM FIRE AND THAT'S JUST WALKING AROUND IN MY VERY SMALL APARTMENT, I'M NOT QUITING THOUGH I TRY TO WALK AROUND A LITTLE MORE MANY TIMES A DAY TAKING IT SLOW. I ALSO HAVE 4TH STAGE C.O.P D. I'M ON CONTINUOUS HOME OXYGEN THOUGH I DO HAVE A PORTABLE OXYGEN MACHINE THAT I USE GETTING TO DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS MY BOYFRIEND PUSHES ME IN MY WHEELCHAIR GETTING INTO DOCTORS OFFICE AND OUT TAKING MY PORTABLE OXYGEN.
    IM SO LUCKY TO HAVE HIM HE TAKES CARE OF ME HE DOES THE COOKING CLEANING AND LAUNDRY THE BEST HE KNOWS HOW THOUGH HE HAS RUINED CLOTHES TOGETHER WITH THINGS YOU WOULDNT AND I WOULD HAVE WASHED IN A GENTLE CYCLE BLESS HIS HEART, I KNOW IM LUCKY HE'S STAYED BY MY SIDE, MOST MEN WOULDN'T HAVE STAYED THEY WOULD THEY WOULD RAN OUT THE DOOR,, HE IS ALSO DISABLED HE HAS HAD MORE BACK SURGERY'S THAN I CAN COUNT AND IS WAITING TO GET A M.R.I WITH CONTRAST DONE NEXT WEEK FOR A NECK SURGERY HOPEFULLY THIS MONTH HE SUFFERS VERY MUCH WITH HIS NECK. HE WAS WHEEL CHAIR BOUND FOR 2 YEARS TOLD HIS SPINE WAS DAMAGED SO BAD HE WOULD NEVER WALK. HE WOULD NOT EXCEPT THAT HE WOULDNT GIVE UP HE GET GOING TO THERAPY..HE BELIEVED GOD WOULDNT LEAVE HIM IN THHAT CONDITION AND HE KEPT PRAYING.
    HE WILL TELL YOU WITH ALOT OF FAITH AND REHABILITATION ON HIS PART THE LORD HEALED HIM. THE DOCTOR WAS SO AMAZED HE GAVE HIS LIFE TO THE LORD, HE HAD BEEN A ATHEIST. THE DOCTOR SAID NY ALL THE DAMAGED TO HIS SPINAL CORD THERE IS NOW WAY BY HIS MEDICAL RECORDS THAT IS PROOF OF THE DAMAGE THAT HE SHOULD BE WALKING.HE STILL HAS ALOT OF PAIN BUT HE IS ABLE TO COPE AND MENTALLY BLOCK OUT THE PAIN AND STILL FUNCTION, I FEEL SO QUILTY ABOUT IM NOT ABLE TO DO THAT I DONT HAVE THE RESISTANCE TO PAIN THAT HE HAS.LIKE HIM I'M HAVING MY FAITH AND BELIEVE THAT THE LORD WILL HEAL ME BUT I HAVE TO DO MY PART AND WORK TO GET MY STRENGTH BACK I BELIEVE THE LORD WON'T BLESS ME IF I DON'T GET MY BUTT OUT OF THIS RECLINER THAT I BEEN LIVING AND SLEEPING IN 24/7 FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
