Hey Barbara, I know you’ve said that you don’t follow the rules. But just for you to know that there is a paint made specifically for tiles. Its from Rust Oleum and it comes with a sealant

I painted my first backsplash in 1967! Who has red backsplashes! I used regular latex paint, sealed it! It looked great and was still good when we sold the house a few years later! You are a wonder, do what you do, with what you have, my moto!!

Yes Cheryl, my house is an older home and I feel like, what do I have to lose? My husband is not doing any major remodeling at this point. It's not high on the priority list. 😕 If I have to live in a shoe box, I'm going to make it nice. 😅

I have admired your corner kitchen sink for years! Because of this wonderful feature, It is my favorite room in your house, but the windows looking out are also a "must have" for this area. You should try it. It was so quick and easy. But make sure your tile is not shiny or has a gloss finish. If so, you will need to lightly sand it. Hope that's helpful. 😉

I know all to well how you just touch things, and it turns out great. It Must be all the confidence so you just go for it . The back splash is one of those moments. It looks great and you make it look so easy. 😅. I have learned over the years to watch and enjoy all the beauty that you share and how it's done. Girl each time I decide I am going to do what Barbara did......oh did I make a mess 😂😂😂😂😂. It is a rainy day here as well. So, I watch you and fold my laundry. I cannot mess that up 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

What a great idea Barbara! I have dark granite counter tops, cherry wood color cabinets and the same similar back-splash as yours. I'll have to give this a try to lighten things up a bit.

Wow. Really nice. This helps me a great deal. I just had my cabinets painted a taupe color and my countertops are similar to the color of yours and I plan on painting my backsplash. I just didn’t know what type of paint to use. I was thinking an epoxy paint, but heard it’s difficult to use. Latex with a sealer makes sense. Now I need to select a color and get her done. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

😅 That's my edited version. Everyone has their own way of doing things. You have to do what works best for your home. I like my utensils out. It makes it easier to get to.
