Id say this vehicle performs very well in the snow and drifts. love the various traction settings, it would be amazing with snow's on it. thanks for the review on how the highlander does in the snow.
Erik, your solution to the windshield wiper not lifting - they need to be in the service position. To execute, simply shut off your car and hold up on the wiper-stock for 3-5 seconds. It should swipe up 1 time and be left in the vertical position. From that position you can fold them forward without hitting the hood. Note: if your car has been off for a long time it won't work. It's immediately after turning off your car (say
I do not own a Toyota (yet), but that is good to know for when I do get my GH. Thinking about it, how else would you ever be able to change wiper blades if they were always parked.
That same issue i have with my nissan juke with the wiper. But then i realize that there must be a way to stop it in the middle because u wont be able to replace wiper blade. Thats where the car manual comes in handy. I read the whole manual and i learned a lot
Yessir. For sure car there’s a wiper warmer feature I didn’t know it had. Sucks having to wait for it but if it has 3-4 minutes it gets the ice cleared off
@6:00 There is a "service mode" for the wipers. Turn off the car, and use the "mist" function and the wipers will stop at the top. It's mentioned in your owner's manual.
It should have heated wipers. It takes a minute but it will unfreeze your wipers most of the time. Look for a button on the left side of the steering wheel with a wiper blade and a squiggly line.
Hi Erik. I'm from Montreal, and there is a lot of snow here as well. Do you know if the AWD system on the Grand Highlander is the same on all differents trims? XLE, Limited, Hybrid Max? Or is there a trim with a better AWD system than the other? For ex, the Corolla Cross hybrid AWD system is reportedly better than the non-hybrid Corolla Cross.
Great question! Yes the AWD system is the same throughout all models of GH as well as with the Lexus TX 👍 One thing to note is that if you need an 8 seater, only the XLE comes with 8 seats. I’ve heard this may be different in the US. If you are going to have snow consistently, to ensure constant grip, I would upgrade to proper winter tires, however, if it’s not consistently a snowy winter like here in southwestern Ontario, then the all seasons perform great.

And you also have wiper de-icer in the windshield. The button is on the HVAC control panel.

Great review. I like your toque!
