I have two 893s…my hands down fav Texas rig rod. I always have two t rigs on at all time. I have two 894s as well. Mostly use those for 5/8 football jigs and big worms, got an 854 but just picked up the 904mbr yesterday that I’m gonna throw fb jigs on tomorrow. Very excited to see how deep that rod bends. I’ll likely start throwing 3/4 fb jigs on it and biffleheads I have a feeling it’s going to be extremely versatile, but very pumped to crack some on it tomorrow. Not enough people talk about the NRX on UA-cam. I’m thinking about doing a fish catch video on each model. Like 5 catches with each one so people can see how they pin a fish.
That's a great idea on the video. I like the NRX+ rod series a lot. I do not believe there is a better rod on the planet for bottom contact techniques.
Enjoyed the video! I bought one to see the hype several years ago, now I have the 852c, 803c,873crr, 854c, 894c, 821s nrr and a 872s. A 721s GLX thrown in for light baits, lol.
I have a 873crr for my jig rod for dragging 1/2oz keitech jigs on humps or fishing laydowns and I love it. Debating on getting a 894c and was curious what you would say is much different. What do you use each for?
They both do well at several things but i use the 873 mostly as you, dragging. The 894 is a great jig rod also but got it to play around with magnum shakeys.
I got both, the 873 is the better worm rod. I use my 7’3mh Adrena for chatterbait, spinnerbait, weighted swimbaits. I did fish a t-rig on the Adrena & the Adrena did fine
How would my 894c work as a hollow-bellied frog rod? (a retirement gift:) I need to learn to catch bass with hollow frogs. I'm walking distance from a muddy-bottom pond; I know it's got frogs and bass.
I’d throw it on there, but I enjoy more backbone for my frogs, so I use a Poison Adrena 176 xh for frogs. The rod you have would work for sure, though.
For the 852s you said you prefer the exsense over the Stella. Do you feel like it works better for that rod? Trying to do my research before putting the two together. Thank you!
I prefer the Exsence over the Stella for all applications other than professional guide fishing and salt water usage. The Exsence is light, it casts a mile, and is just as smooth as the Stella, in my opinion. I would choose the Exsence over the Stella 100% of the time for my fishing style.
Have you tried any of the magnum rods in the NRX? I was surprised you didn’t have any of your deck. Figure by now you may have tried more since the video isn’t new.
I assume you are referring to the mag bass rods. I’m not a huge fan of the moderate taper of them. Most of the NRX+ rods I have I use for bottom contact techniques. I don’t spend a ton of money on moving bait rods, but they are still great if you have the extra cash.
@@OnAnotherLine thanks for the response. Appreciate. Enjoy your channel. Nothing better then a NRX in my opinion. Amazing to feel even a blade of grass on the hook and knowing to reel it in and clean it off. Stupid sensitive. I own several.
I currently do that with no problem. I like the backbone that the SYR give that the DSR doesn't. I have thrown most of my dropshots this season on the 852s and love it as well.
American made rod is nothing Lambo honestly, fit and finish is kind of garbage at this price point, I can get a JDM that destroys G Loomis in every aspect. Only downside is the warranty on JDM rods

That 893 is probably the most special rod in the casting lineup. I got two of the 873, luv that rod

894 is my 3/4 jig rod in the wintertime & 3/4 carolina rig rod in summer.
893 won a boat with that rod
873 fav rod in the lineup

What reel do you have on that second spinning rod?
Shimano Vanford 3000
How do you compare the NRX+ to the Poison Adrenas? Is that 7'3" MH Adrena similar to the 873 CRR? Not sure if you've had one before or not.
I got both, the 873 is the better worm rod. I use my 7’3mh Adrena for chatterbait, spinnerbait, weighted swimbaits. I did fish a t-rig on the Adrena & the Adrena did fine
Hi , Did you had the chance to fish the Kistler Z Bones rod ?
How would my 894c work as a hollow-bellied frog rod? (a retirement gift:)

How is it for spinner and top water
What about the 902 it seems like a 7’6” rod would be even better for landing tough fish while keeping them pinned

@@CS-wp5dz you’re right! There’s nothing like them!
842s is amazing. Will definitely buy 843s next
Hey. Nice video. Really good info. Do you ever have a problem w getting ur leader knot stuck on recoil guides?
I've never had a leader knot get stuck in a recoil guide.
Great review. What are your thoughts on using that 822s syr with a drop shot rig as well?
I currently do that with no problem. I like the backbone that the SYR give that the DSR doesn't. I have thrown most of my dropshots this season on the 852s and love it as well.
When you’re show come on who sing that song Shimano reel in a G Loomis Rod country singer
That’s my single. Search Tyler Waller - my world. All platforms
Awesome thanks
You sing songs if not you should
I want that hat so bad and they are sold out everywhere 😢
Bad news. They discontinued them. It’s my favorite too.
@@OnAnotherLine can I buy yours lol
@@blakewilkerson9695 If it were in any kind of shape, I would just give it to you. It's pretty rough as I've worn it the last two years.
@@OnAnotherLine I appreciate the gester !
You forgot to mention that all G loomis rods are made in USA and the Shimanos rods are made in China! A big deal to most of us!
That is a big deal to me as well. Most people only care about what kind of deal they can get anymore though.
American made rod is nothing Lambo honestly, fit and finish is kind of garbage at this price point, I can get a JDM that destroys G Loomis in every aspect. Only downside is the warranty on JDM rods
