lardosian Thanks :) My X was lost/stolen in transit in its way to Akai back in April unfortunately. However I have an MPC One now. The 707 is a great machine in its own right but certainly not a replacement for the X, they aren’t really comparable.
@@lardosian Yeah not for me that one, i have a modular rig and there's another analogue module I'd prefer with a wider range of sounds. I've not seen too many demos of the Typon that sold it to me, but cheers for the heads up :)
HAHA DUDE SAME BOAT I STILL AM GONNA ADD A FEW PEDALS TO JUSTIFY WHAT IVE ALREADY PUT INTO MY LITTLE "AFFOARD ABOARD". PLUS PEDALS WILL ADDED A DIFFERENT SOUND SO ITS NOT ALL ROLAND, SECONDLY IF U JUST WANNA USE ONE PEDAL IT WILL BE a MORE SIMPLISITIC SET UP AND LESS SPACE, THIRD IF I WANNA RUN A REAL GUITAR OR BASS THRU THEM IN THE FUTURE I CAN OR SAY I HAVE A friend over that plays he can plug in with less hassle. i think if i keep my pedal set up under 5 to 600 bucks its not the end of the world.
great tutorial as always.. can you assign an external source through the scatter FX as well as the internal sound a the same time for maximum mangling?
Yes but not on the same track - you have to choose a specific track on the 707 for external audio, but the scatter can be simultaneously applied to that and a track playing internal sounds
No, in the track settings/general page, you have the output select parameter and you can choose between MIX out or ASSIGN out, however if the AUDIO INSERT parameter below is set to anything but OFF, the track sound (Drums or Tone) wont be heard, just the external audio.
Scott Osman The MPC purely because of how you can arrange full songs and how the latest firmware now provides more advanced midi routing/options. The 707 is great but more of a jamming device IMO
Love this dude... especially the breakbeat and scatter...... More 707 stuff....
This is super helpful for me! Thank you for sharing this unique way to utilize the onboard multi FX for external gear!
Love it!!! 😍
The Juno chorus on the 707 sounds fantastic!
Yeah it's one of my favourite patches, very soulful and warm,
loved the whole thing, but dat beat at 3:50 !
Where can I get that sample collection you are using?
wow that's oldschool skills congrats!!! impressive ;-)
Crazy! That’s next on the list!
I bet I have watched this video 10 times
Dope drums all around 😎
Faaat drums ! Akai sound ao good !
Dude it's really amazing how you get the most out of your equipment, hats off! Are you using the X much or is the 707 your main tool now?

@@TUBEDIGGA Yes for sure, have you looked at the Dreadbox Typon, right up your alley and reasonably priced as well.

Brilliant! Pls more!
I was ready to buy some pedals, but might give this a go first

Sounds DAF! Reminds me of the MV8800!

Oldskool let's go!
Wait, how do you get the MFX control on the knobs above the tracks? When I choose knob assign I don't have that option.
I don’t have the 707 any more to check, but I think you have to go into the deeper modulation matrix settings and enable it as a destination
@@TUBEDIGGA why did u sell it
@@Jordanchicity23 The sample editor was under developed and I couldn’t find a good enough workflow when it came to making more than simple loops.
Interesting. Does this mean that tracks can have a monitor input and play their designated sounds also?
No, in the track settings/general page, you have the output select parameter and you can choose between MIX out or ASSIGN out, however if the AUDIO INSERT parameter below is set to anything but OFF, the track sound (Drums or Tone) wont be heard, just the external audio.
What do you think is a better sequencer for hardware synths, the MC 707 or the MPC live? Tell Mooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiwwwwwww

Does the external audio with FX record via the interface?
Yes it does, it can be resampled
Can you use the MC101 in the same way?
I assume so
damn nice
Nice 5:30
