ABOUT THIS FILM
____________________
Solo
This nest cam follows its story from the moment this owl chick chips out of its eggshell. See Solo unfurl like a seed from the confines of its egg and see how its mother is instantly attentive. Watch as she slowly slides her long, talon-ed foot from under the barn owl chick, careful not to hurt its head.
Failed eggs
This was the only egg to hatch and once the female realises the second chick will not chip out, she discards it. Watch how the male comforts the female when he returns to find the other barn owl chick hasn't survived.
Caring barn owl mum
My cameras afford an insight into how these birds of prey care for their young in a way I've never been able to enjoy before. For instance, watch how the adult female holds her tiny, featherless chick to her breast to keep it warm whilst she feeds it.

When owls have greater family values then most people we know.
ruh roh
And when there's little food, the parents kill one of their young and eat it
Ciel Phantomhive tbf that’s happened in human history too
@कट्टर हिन्दू why was that necessary to say
Indeed ❤️☺️🥺 🥰 well we can learn something from them - why not They are better than Humans in that respect.
Mama feeding her baby while it's tucked between her feathers is probably the cutest thing I've ever seen an owl do
And the best part is theres a bloodied decapitated in the shot, owl are cool
When the father owl was comforting the mother owl, they looked like they were smiling
Edit: Jesus wasn't expecting this many likes
Indeed they are
:")
they are so subdued and beautiful looking.
really regal looking birds.
Hello River
Yes. I like it
I love how the mother bird is gently putting her claws down trying not to stomp on the baby, it’s adorable
Yeah... you just remind me that this is a sign that God is the most merciful... The one who program every mother to do what you mentioned...
Except pigeons
@@aqiloe FYI, there are birds species that will kill their own baby's if for example, one is peculiar / looks different or is smaller then the rest of the baby's. Thanks God, lol
@@b.henriques9871 that's more because they may be sick or something. Or they might not even survive so why waste resources? Because trying to save this little one means your other chicks have a less chance of survival.
@@halfway7690 May, and might. So if your mom kills your brother so it increases the chance of your survival, it's OK? Lmao, most of the time they aren't sick or dying, they are just different, whether it be smaller or odd looking. Doesn't mean they will die.

This just made me think of those front facing terraria characters

I had just said 'awww' out loud when he did that. It was hilarious timing

Bird: *B R U H the camera man is watching*
5:15 is the look of a proud Papa. 😁 Gorgeous birds, these are. 😆
On 5:13 it looked like his smiling :>
Yes theeir breed is barn owls they have heart shape faces
He's like what are ya looking at ,PRIVACY!
It’s a not just any bird it’s a barn owl
Sure they are~>
Solo is such a fitting and wonderful name. While their siblings didn't make it, Solo will have a spoiled and great childhood.
I love the bond between the pair of owls, it's so wholesome despite the challenges they just faced as a mated couple. I hope the best for them in the future as well as for Solo.
Momma birds give a whole new meaning to... *babysitter*
I’m sorry that was so bad I’ll leave now
I get it!
get out
I’ll get the door
Aaaah. I get it. Nonono you don’t have to leave. I’ll kick you out.
You don’t have to kick me out, I’ll just... *fly away*
My father always loved owls. He spoke about them in soft, hushed reverent tones. I love them, too. Especially, snowy owls. All owl species are magnificent birds, though. Intelligent and graceful, lovely birds in flight. It is quite poignant to see this owl family together and their care of their young. It is deeply moving to watch the male's behavior with the dead unhatched chick. It is unfortunate I agree that only one chick hatched out of three. This matters toward the continuation of animal and bird species in the wild.
Do you know why just one hatched?
I'm really Sad about that other that didn't survived....
@@alguemaleatorio8713 I'm no expert, but based on what they explained and what we saw, the first probably suffocated in the egg or something similar, since it seemed to be pipping at the start (it's egg tooth might not have developed fully) the second likely was just unfertilized.
I'm glad the one made it, though. Such gorgeous creatures.
@@NotNaudiz oh :(
Yeah, they are beautiful
not to be THAT guy, but owls aren't exactly what you'd call intelligent. they're smart, in their own way, but if we make a list of birds with the most intelligent ones at the top, owls come somewhere near the bottom :/
@@soapmuncher3135 you are that guy
Look how the parents love each other! My heart just blossomed with joy!
Barn owls mate for life, so watching the two preen was even cuter ❤️
oh my goodness this brought me to tears, I just realised how beautiful and precious a life is, how we're so lucky to be able to have one and partake in the makings of one.
God is truly wonderful
Aww, the baby is pecking at the food but it isn’t strong enough to tear a piece off. Mom still has to help it. It warms my heart to see it so lively and interested in its food 😍
Such beautiful birds! I love the partnership these owls form! They are more loyal to their mate than many humans are! Good luck, Solo!
They are so fluffy and cute!
I LOVE BARN OWLS. Aren't they so cute and pretty? She's a good Momma.
とっても愛情深くて、何か感動しちゃった🥺
3:11 OMG. Her eyes are so cute. She's a great mama. 😍♡♡

Stunning... Amazing to see how she feeds her chick... I have a scoops owl at home. She IS 10 years old now, and i found her when she was about 10 days old when fall out of nest. And she is so precious to me that i cannot describe it.
What beautiful animals...thank you for sharing this incredible event in the life of an owl. I dream of a world where people respect, not exploit and destroy nature.
Love the experience of watching a little tiny miracle. They are beautiful birds. Thank you 💖
Simply stunning, watching mum and dad looking after Solo is such a privilege. Thank you so much for sharing your video and letting us watch the little family thrive. X 😊😊😊😊🐱🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Idk why or how this was in my recommended videos but this was adorable. I’m so happy it was recommended
So beautiful. I didn’t know that owls clack their beaks, how interesting! I’m excited to see my ducks’ brooding behavior once they are old enough/enter their season. My ducks stretch just like this momma!
So sweet, what a beautiful mama owl💙👍🤗
What beautiful moments captured with these gorgeous birds. Thanks so much for sharing!
Whew whew, so cute baby and caring of mom.
Very impressive! 💯💫
I wish my mom was like this- she legit will just YEET me to my grandparents home ;-;
Cuz humans can be monsters. I hope your grandparents are good- I wish you luck. I had a hellish childhood; almost was killed and nearly committed suicide a couple times but I made it. I’m only telling you because I wish people would have told me similarly when I was younger. People do make it through hell. And just because parents are shitty doesn’t mean you will be- you make yourself. 💜 from a fellow stranger :3
I hugs I
*give virtual hugs*
I give you some chocolate 🍫 :3
Lmmfao momma gotta live too🤣😂😅
I didn't realize they were such a beautiful birds until getting to watch them like this
What beautiful creatures. Bless all animals, big and small.
That backward leg stretch is precious ❣️
The most beautiful thing I've experienced this week. Thanks for sharing.

Translation: Dont touch my baby unless you wanna catch these claws
Owls are so fluffy. Just beautiful birds
Why does this barn owl look so cute but has the screech of a demon
Because they're viscious hunters
@@brickboy1177 vicious is a word you use because its what you can relate to. These animals aren't vicious, they're just doing what nature intended for them. Only we can be construed as vicious because its a conscious choice we make to cruelly harm others for our own gratification
@@Corusame 😐
@@Corusame They mean they can be good hunters, If its what nature has them do then of course they'd be vicious towards killing their prey. Not everything someone says you have to turn it back on humans 😐😐
@@Corusame - Wrong. Animals can most certainly be vicious or cruel. When a male lion takes over a pride, he’ll kill any of the existing cubs to put the lionesses into esterus and establish his genes. Bears do the same thing. There’s also the common carnivore trend of half-killing an animal and bringing it to their offspring to learn how to deliver a killing blow. Apes like chimpanzees are especially violent to their species and other animals. Sea otters have a documented history of necrophillia and raping other animals like baby harbor seals. Ducks are also serial rapists, though in the zoology world it’s just called “forced copulation.”
One of the biggest lies humans have told themselves is that we’re the only creatures that can be cruel.
What a perfectly produced video Robert. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing what happened to this chick, and to your current output. Really beautifully done.
Many thanks.
Your voice is from another world Mr. Fuller.
This is just beautiful, Barn owls are my favourite owl. Mum is so loving, can't wait to see the progress of this darling family. Love too the painting. How are the stoats and hedgehogs?

She is a beautiful bird ♡ I love barn owls so much.
That was amazing. Thank you for showing this incredible footage.
Love how she tries to not step on the chick but usually ends up stepping on it
I liked your video . It reminded me of how I had waited patiently for days on end when a hen in our farmhouse chose to lay n sit on my closet l to hatch her eggs. My mom, finally allowed it there and, also called me at dawn one day she found the hen 🐔stroking the eggs gently as the chicks 🐤🐥 came out, one by one. I could not forget the the thrill, even after sixty odd years. After all, life is,. Fascinating, as it is, thank you
Gylfie I saw your lovely talons gentley pull away I am sorry your sweet chick didn't make it barney was so confused but he is so happy to see his brood Gylfie you are so talented brooding and feeding at the same time

I walked up to the large tractor barn on an old family farm when....WHOOSH! A barn owl came flapping out...over my head. I hit the ground with a pathetic and strangled girly squeak. I guess we scared the bejeezus out of each other! 😆🦉
I hope that I have that kind of lovable family just like the Owls family
That's so lovely! 💕
It is interesting to see a parent with their child

4:38 BEST BABY DADDY EVER...
Owl life -
BABY OWL DADDY:
Sweet baby dad checks over the egg to ensure there is no life, then out of respect and concern he lovingly preens & cares for Baby Momma. Excited about the remaining brood & to watch his young sprout grow. He brings momma food and meets her every need.
Human Life:
BABY MAN DADDY:
“I’m not the father!”
“ I have plans, they are your problem! I’m not watching the kids”
“Well your gonna do something & take care of it/your pregnancy right!?”
“You want me on the birth certificate!?... nah nah nah nope...., !!”
“Dafuq!!”
“Good luck with that!!!.... ✌️deuces!!!”
....also a BIG Kudos though to those who take a responsible non-egotistical approach, like the animal world, and step up to “daddyhood” 😎
