    I love the look of this. With the Honda engine it’s last years. I got a Ryan aerator 8years ago and it’s still going year in year out. Can’t beat them engines.

      Yep I use to use the lawnaire IV an loved it 20 odd years ago when I was just getting into lawn care at another company. I would happily get another one in a heartbeat. When I got the classen it was very close in terms of operating and so that filled me with joy 😊

    Great looking machine and great film you made. I think it would be nice if you would let a little bit longer the texts on the screen.
    Maybe soon a film with a comparison between your new reciprocating aerator and the old drum style Classens?
    Here (somewhere in The Netherlands) we only have the option of getting the Billy Goat PL 18XX series and as a starting gardener with a limited budget, 4000 Euro is a bit too much. But saving is the key, hopefully i will get one soon.
    Great film, thanks for sharing!
    Greetings!

      Hi and many thanks.. I need to work out how to edit the text parts other than the words. Hav eyoui looked online for 2nd hand used models? I got my other one off ebay for £500

      Kinda constantly looking. The one you had but made by Ryan was sold for 2300 euro second hand.
      Now have my eyes on a Redexim easy core 108 but both in Holland as well as in Belgium, it is very difficult to find a good second hand machine under the 1500 euro mark.
      Cheers and thanks for your reply!

    Being too old these days to do it manually, I bought one of these machines. I wish I had bought one years ago and would have more use and made life easier.
    I am impressed with it, but I did do a bit of damage at first. Like most things, a bit of practise, and you improve.

    • @LawnRight

      Yes I also had the damage ripping soil around each hole in the beginning. My old drum roller the classen I loved and still do.. been using them for years so this was a real change

    Why do you pick up the dirt cores plugs? We always left them on the turf. Occasionally a client would ask if the plugs would be removed. The boss states it's better for the turf to leave them. Regular watering cycle or rainfall will dissolve them in a few weeks.

    • @LawnRight
      @LawnRight  2 роки тому +3

      Hi, when seeding, if its sandy soil I do leave them but clay based pick them up. If its just aeration I always pick the up as they look unsightly

    You should be able to run at full throttle once you get moving, but yes you definately need to start off at low revs to minimise ripping up the lawn.

    Enjoyed the show Shaun. Is it ok to aerate more than once per year. I bought a manual one a few months ago and used it a couple of months ago. Is it ok to aerate again. Thanks.

    Hi my lawn is to similar size as to the video. After very heavy rain the lawn is soft and soggy. Will aeration help with drainage??

    • @LawnRight
      @LawnRight  5 місяців тому

      Hi it'll help the top few inches for sure.. Deeper done issues would need some deep holes drilling with an auger bit.. Then filled with soil and compost

    Hi Shaun
    I have watched videos that mention that the plugs are good compostable material and can kept on the lawn.
    What do you advise?.

    • @LawnRight
      @LawnRight  2 роки тому

      Hi.. if I'm renovating I mostly leave the cores on as I am then covering with the topdressing. If its heavy thick clay I'll usually clear them off though.... if I'm just scarifying and aerating I always clear them off as they look unsightly and can be there for a long time. So it's more of a personal thing for me

    I have the same model. Also have a bit of an issue with the machine ripping of the grass. Does it mean the revs are too strong? Also, should it punch holes with a slight angle or 90 degrees straight to the ground?

    • @LawnRight
      @LawnRight  2 роки тому

      Hi what I did in the end was go with a slow and steady approach when setting off.. very gentle squeeze and you can increase once going. I'd have thought a 90 degree punch straight down. Also the height adjuster (on both sides near back wheels... a pivoting metal piece.. the manufacturer said leave it in the middle of the 3 hholes

    Is it ok to do overseeding after aeration? If the holes are 2 to 3 inches deep will seed able to grow? Thanks

    I would like to have one of these. Can't justify the price. How much do they cost, I am sure you got a discount. I have thought about buying one and renting it out to lawn enthusiast in my area, but that is not worth the gamble. There is a lawn care Co in my area who say they will do a one of job. Thanks.

    • @LawnRight
      @LawnRight  2 роки тому

      Hi Ray I feel the pain. This was biggest investment to date £2000 plus VAT. No discounts unfortunately never had any. I started out years ago with a 10 year old mower, fork and rake and built the business up over the years reinvesting. My last aerator I found on ebay for £500,a classen drum aerator.. still have that and it's been brilliant.

      I keep looking for used aerators but no luck. I have everything else, scarifier, verticutter, Mountfield rotary, and an Allett kensington 14k cylinder mower. Thanks.
