thank you so much for a clear process! been trawling looking for this and others offered incomplete instructions which made my life difficult- thank you
Im kind of very disappointed - I started with EV in 2010 - at that time is was very basic, just a kind of backup. Now, after over 10 years some improvement was made and I was very exited about all the new features. In the mean time I accumulated over 60'000 docs in EV and now the big disappointments: EV is so slow, that I cannot use it at all - synchronisation sometimes takes days - the announcement of a massive price rise and the turn away of Vlad campos to a completely different application causes me a lot of sorrow. What is going on ? 😒
Hi Terence, I'm sorry for your feelings. I cannot talk on behalf of Evernote, so I cannot help you there. As for me, the great majority of my notes are still in Evernote and I recently posted another video (link below) explaining what's happening. 👇 ua-cam.com/video/NEgBuCKkJA0/v-deo.html
I used Evernote for seven or eight years. Then I switched to Obsidian but was still partially stuck in Evernote. Then I exported everything and dumped it into an "Evernote" folder in my Obsidian vault. It's a big mess (imo "big mess" is the default state of things in Evernote and I just transplanted this mess to Obsidian), but I only pull notes from that "Evernote" folder to my main directory as I need them, and usually tidy them up a bit so they are up to my Obsidian standard. And when I search something, results from all those Evernote notes appear as well. Overall I'm happt to be finally released from the Evernote's grip. I'm a happier man now. I recommend going through this process. For me it was worth it.
Obsidian has a lot of great plugins, but for a business person, its only good for note taking...otherwise the time wasted on learning and integrating all the plugins for good project management, esp syncing reminders, is far too costly... do not get me wrong, I think Obsidian is a great innovation, but to make it useful for the 95% who just want a completed tool for project management, it will not currently work..
having tasks management with CalDAV 2-way sync with any calendar we already use would be a dream.. there isn't one note-taking app yet that does this

You're very welcome! I'm so glad it was helpful.
This is the best video I've found for beginners like myself. Vlad Campos, you do a great teaching job, thank you 🤗
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad it was helpful.
Thank you for this. Are you moving over to Obsidian?
Thank you. I explained "the moving" in the video below.
