This was a great video. Is there a video showing how to go from this layout to a HinkPix Pro controller? Having issue with getting all my lights to light up.
Nice! So when you zig zag you do not have to run the data from the top of one string to the bottom if I see the grid in xLights correctly? You just run the 100 led string up and then back down for one channel/2 strings w/50 leds on each string? Planning my 2020 show and this is one thing that I'm not 100% on wiring wise.
Data follows the pixel output to the string. When the controller port is configured correctly and it matches the xLights layout, the pixels get the data that is mapped to them from the sequencing. If you have 99 pixels on an output and your fold/zigzag (strings per strand in xLights) say 3 times; then at pixel 33-34 & 66-67, xlights knows you turned the string. If you pay attention to how you build the model in real life, then transfer it to your xLights layout correctly, everything will be fine. Yes this is one of the more confusing points when you start this hobby. But, it's actually easy after you start building stuff. Looking at videos isn't always easy. But, put your hands on a string of pixels then push them in a matrix and it becomes more real.
then change the number of pixels per stand to match how many you'll use per each port. Adjust your strings per strand so it builds the model the same size as how tall or wide those strands run back and forth.
Jean, a pixel is the same thing as a node :) Node layout is the pixel layout in this instance as I'm referencing the option in xLights for pixel placement in the overall prop.
Thank you! Just the video I was looking for. I joined PPD today, I know it's going to be a very helpful experience 😊
Thank you, great video...

I like it!!!

What if you only want to use 4 ports and not 16 ports?

Great video, but you keep saying pixels instead of nodes. Kinda confusing.
