I’m one of those people who falls into the “utterly pitiful heat wimp” category. I cannot tolerate sriracha. I accidentally ate a slice of pizza once that had been touched by one (1) pickled jalapeño on the next slice over and was miserable for the better part of half an hour. (Occasionally I can tolerate fresh jalapeños in pico de gallo or something like that, but it depends) I have never once tasted any discernible “flavor” in any kind of pepper that has noticeable capsaicin in it because all I get is pain. Yes, I am fully aware that you can build a tolerance to heat if you just eat enough of it. No, I am not even willing to try. My friends and my spouse can (and do!) razz me about this as much as they like, I am of the firm belief that eating should not involve physical pain of any sort, thank you very much. Ed Currie exists on a different plane of reality than the one I’m on, but he’s just so gosh darn nice and polite I can’t help but enjoy watching him. Thanks for bringing him back.
ED I use GHOST REAPER in my Dill pickles just about 1/4 the guys my hubby works with said it's a nice heat ,not horrible so is their another pepper we should try in Dill pickles?

As a Sri Lankan I’m mildly offended by the fact that one of the hottest papers I have tried being put under mild and being eaten and described as it was a tamarind candy 😂

Once ate 5 Carolina Reaper pods that was in a pickle brine. They were whole. I ate all the pickles, which were very hot, and one day I decided to eat the peppers. I regret that choice. While my mouth was on fire in a way I'd never known before, I was able to handle that. What did the K.O. was how my body reacted to it internally. Pain, internal pain. It was so bad that I panicked and eventually lost consciousness. Yes, I passed out because of the internal pain. Won't do that again.
