Imagine the pain of the woman saying farewells to her husband KNOWING that she is seeing him for the last time; and doing that with a smile and pride on her face. That last scene is heartbreaking. Those women were as much of a warrior as those men.
So true, she is in pain but she is holding the tearsin her eyes and can't cry because she can't show her fear to the king. Tragic story.

Padmini took his hand prints and in the trailer immolation scene she is walking towards the fire with his 'hands' in her hands, together in life and together in death. That last scene is the last time they see each other, in the Eklingji temple that still exists in Rajasthan. You can see Shahid doing a double take, tearing his eyes away and walking away to battle, Deepika's smile vanishes and you can see her strength in controlling her emotion. This is what a REAL woman and REAL man are like.

As Shahid(King) goes for the final battle of his life knowing that he will lose it Deepika (the Queen his wife) decorates his forehead with pride and salutes him silently. She has only tears and no words for the dying king, in the end to defend her dignity she commits suicide by burning her self. A beautiful concept.
