The rats didn't initially show for me, but hitting SUBMIT after BEGIN, they spawned. I found using the combat log to count rat kills if you're not sure very helpful. Turn on 'say' in combat log chat settings so you can put markers to break up the list of rat kills.
I found a weakaura that keeps track of which lock your on and tracks how many rats you've killed and what statues need to go where. Pretty much the only thing you need to do is make sure you got all the rats and clear the statues off the plates when done :).

as soon as i completed lock 3 i got the message "A great lock has been released." and orb 8 was lit up. i did notice when i first started it that it said something about 3 locks being needed so not sure if the number of locks needed to open is different for everyone?

Just working my way through this one. What's odd is i got 10 rats on stage 1, and that says 2 statues on plate 3 - but plate 3 is in a room that isnt open. : ( had to start again a few times. Curious, when i walked into the Catacombs this time, at the top of the stairs was a 'Ghostly Brazier' which when interracted with gave the magnifying glass .. and then there was a corpse in an alcove that gave me 'Nessingwary Lackey Ear' - am guessing this is tied to another puzzle? If i get a shock because of wrong answer, does that reset EVERYTHING, or just that stage? (i may be looking at the wrong column)
You need to use the gem from the goblin vendor in that broken statue to access the room. The brazier is for those who need access to Jeremy Feasel on the Timeless Isle but have been locked out for the day. The ear was supposed to be part of the consoles. If you get shocked, you need to start from lock one again.
@@cymrejones Cheers for that, i couldnt get the crystal to work, but now i have it, silly thing is i keep getting stuck on that damn arcane device and there is no way to exit the puzzle. Have to log out and back in (however - finally got it completed) Thanks again
@@cymrejones I used the crystal, but it does NOT transport me INSIDE of the locked door. This is called BAD game design once again. By the way, there is NO end to the puzzle match 3 thing........I don't know HOW you got that lucky and didn't have to experience any of that........but.......it sucks for us!
I just compared it to the one on wowhead, and it gives the same solution. Are you sure your statues were dragged off the previous platform and only pushing begin once? Also, the normal rats respawn, so maybe one ran over a grate when you pushed solve.
@@cymrejones I did it!! You ONLY need to press the "Begin" button once at the start. Then after each lock, you only have to press the "Submit" button. Pressing the "Submit" button also spawns more rats for the lock you're on at that time. I was making the mistake of pressing the "Begin" and "Submit" buttons each time after every lock and you don't do that. Also, making sure to kill all the "Catacomb rats" at the very start is important. They no longer respawn after being killed (due to a hotfix) so you only have to do it once, after that, only the "Rat" will spawn, which is the ones you need to kill.

Hotfix: Resetting the enigma machine now resets connected devices. Also, check the description for more tips.

Pillar 7 was a nightmare for me
The hardest part is to keep track of how many rats you've killed. I have to open a notepad to jot it down for each step.
For me the rats were okay, I had to write down which lock I was up to.

How can i get out of the Path 3 Room after placing the statue? i just can port in, but not out.

my 3 state keep failed looks bugged to me i have count and kill all the rats for an hour now and i cant get over state 3

Try running out and resetting the instance
