That first elimination CT was literary carrying dead weight at the end. Love how CT handled the situation afterwards with Adam.

Kenney P. Think of him as the guy that really wants to be in the cool crowd. He was “cool” with Johnny, Evan and Kenny. And I could totally tell by the ending of that elimination he threw it in favor for his friends lol.
The way CT handled the loss and treated Adam was really telling of his character. So many of the other contestants would have been assholes, but CT was so kind. I've always loved him and the Banana backpack will never not be ICONIC.

This man Derrick literally died for the love of the sport that we call "The Challenge". He had nothing to lose or gain from winning or losing against Joss and still gave it his all. HOW TF have they not brought this man back. He brings the competitiveness to the Challenge and always finds himself in some drama. The fact that CT laid out two dudes and barely missed a step is more iconic than the Bananas backpack.
That elimination of Joss and Derrick was absolutely brutal, definitely an iconic moment in the show’s history.
It’s even more iconic when you know that Derrick had nothing riding on this. He just has a competitive spirit. He wasn’t fighting to stay in the game. He was just fighting to take someone else out.
I wish joss won but a great elim nonetheless

They’ve stated on Derek’s podcast that that took HOURS and the time wasn’t accurately depicted in the episode. Production should’ve ended that and they should’ve created a different challenge. Both players sustained injuries and the safety of those guys wasn’t even thought of… all for ratings. It’s pretty messed up when you think about it. Derek was a mercenary brought in just for this challenge. After taxes, he probably only received a few thousand. Not worth it at all for the injuries he sustained!

missing the rope elimination with Jordan and josh. Jordan beat a man twice his size and did it with one hand. I think that is the most impressive elimination I've ever seen

Jordan is an amazing competitor but I don’t think that is his most impressive elimination because josh isn’t that smart and that comp was more about brains. All Jordan had to do was let go when josh was pulling and the momentum sent josh off the platform.
Yeah Josh is huge and everything but it’s like seeing a giant clumsiness. Which is not a good convo. Josh doesn’t know how to make his body and mass work for him. Not only that but he is also very hot headed again not a good thing to have. At the other end of the spectrum there is CT and Joss who DO know how to use their bodies for their advantage.

I've been watching Derrick compete since 2005. I was very impressed that he still had the beast in him especially considering that he's older and smaller than Joss. Great elimination round!

I know this is old but I just power watched every season from 10-36. I can’t stand Theresa. She’s ugly inside. And I ADORE CT!! He’s such a freaking badass and he has matured into a very good person (for the most part lol).I also cannot stand Lauren. That biatch has a screw loose.
My absolute favorite is Cara Maria - from her getting bullied in her first few seasons and not letting it keep her down. Kyle really effed up her world and Pauly wasn’t much of an improvement. I didn’t really care for the way she played in her season with Pauly. I think she was dealing with some major shit mentally. I think she is an amazing, strong young woman! I can’t wait to see her back!!
Now let’s talk about Jenna. I really, really like Jenna - A LOT!! She is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside!! Zack brings here down. I
Hope she breaks free of him (she may have already). He is far too controlling over her and it is not health for her self esteem. He’s nothing but an overgrown child!! She would be so much better off without him. But, I do get it. The heart wants what the heart wants 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️.
And lastly, Aneesa. She just needs to hang up here Challenge shows. She’s too old now and too out of shape. She should realize that she cannot endure a final. She needs to give someone else the opportunity to play!!

Derrick truly is one of the best competitors to ever to grace the challenge. He literally is the role model for all challengers. He never gives up, he respects everyone and has decency and grace when winning and loosing. Has anyone ever heard anyone really say a bad thing about Derrick? Exactly nope.
Is that his final season when he loses to Wes and says he needs to go home and reevaluate his life? I’m just starting to rewatch from earlier seasons and it’s insane to see him so much older, but still have that same fight in him. I just finished The Gauntlet II and it broke my heart when he had to do the reverse tug of war against Timmy, one final matchup before the finale, and he lost 😢 The way he screamed “No!!” as he dug into the sand was so sad. It was even harder knowing he was forced into the gauntlet for elimination any time his team lost and he had to win like four or five just to get to where he was and then loses on the very last one before the finale. They paid the price for it though. They were completely lost without him in the final challenge and made decisions he would have never done.

@@ville666sora not really. Ninja pointed out to Laurel the missing hole several times before she went back up. Laurel was too busy being cocky, demonstrating her poor sportsmanship, and justifying her cheating. And apparently they were offered an entire redo and Laurel turned it down.

I’m gonna give CT the credit for taking the risk. At least he’s showing he’s willing to play unlike the some of the other male “vets.” Him taking Jay on was his best chance at getting a red skull since almost any combination of Tribunal won’t let him compete in Purgatory and more likely than not no one in the house would willingly vote him in. My question for Jay though is can he get some sort of group going forward to keep him protected from going back in for a third time or would it take another win just to get the target off him?

I would love a full season of only vets no newbies and they all have to go into eliminations to get a skull to run the finals. I hate that they always play a scared game and want to fight against the rookies in elimination to get skulls. Like nah put vets vs vets so we can see some real talent. Imo alot of them only get ahead by screwing over rookies as an excuse in the later seasons. We need a challenge with vets only so we can see what they can do and not just go against rookies csuse you want a bone thrown your way.

31:47 The way Derrick on that last round knows to go arm completely through the hoop, a legend for a reason. Finds a way to put himself in the best position to win no matter what.
If I recall correctly they kept telling them to keep their arm OUT of the hoop as they could dislocate their shoulder. So I don't think he necessarily did it on purpose.

Lee Harvey well the only reason Tori won against her was because she had more aggression because in a hall brawl, size is really the determining factor(unless you’re somebody like Zach), Jenny has very little aggression, she’s even said herself she’s a more passive person

Why did they never do another Free Agents season. It was my favorite format.
Devin was so lucky he got to go against Bananas on a puzzle, the only type of elimination he had a chance of beating him at. Anything physical or athletic, Bananas would’ve dropped off Devin.
The take aways:
-Derrick vs Joss was the most deadly ...both really won
-the game has changed and some vets are real stand outs

No one understands how insane Derrick vs Joss was. I don’t have the body weights, but Joss HAS to have a good 40+lbs of muscle over Derrick so for Derrick to fight as long as he did is utterly insane. Watch them lift and then maybe you’ll understand the fight Derrick had in front of him. Literally a modern day David and Goliath. Derrick will always be a legend.

Watching Derrick battle out against his teammates on the Gauntlet II (if i recall correctly) was the reason why I began following the series. He was small, but gave it his all and beat many big opponents (on his team) in elimination
Derek is a legend above the rest. Keep in mind that he had no skin in the game (figuratively speaking). He put his body through that out of pure stubbornness, pride, competitiveness & the simple fact that bigger guys keep thinking they can best him! Never underestimate an athlete with stubborn pride, who's been called "little" all his life. That's precisely what drives them.
