Podiatry instrument sterilisation

This video explains how we sterilise our instruments at Randell's Footcare.
We show how individual instruments are first scrubbed, then placed into an ultrasonic cleaner for 3 minutes before then being placed inside a little sister autoclave. The cycle for the autoclave takes about 20 minutes and is steam 137 degrees Celsius held with up to 40 pounds of pressure inside a steel chamber.
Once sterilised the instruments are removed from the autoclave and placed under an ultra violet light within the podiatry cabinet.
This light further prevents contamination of the instruments, ensuring that when removed for use they are of the utmost cleanliness for our patients.
