Thinking that the bathroom is most always close to the kitchen.. so if you switched places with the frig and washer/ dryer from underneath the stairway somehow that would be much better.. A wider tiny home would be more doable in the space.. but definitely like the layout other than where the bathroom is located .. I like the design which the bedroom is upstairs and you can walk around in it. Overall the tiny house is really cute.
As already mentioned: one don't have to "crawl" to bed and the bed is a full-size one - not something that have to be prepared/folded out each time. Details like this makes a difference.
I'd probably move the closets upstairs to be on both sides of the bed. This would also allow the bed to have walkaround space on both sides, which make it easier to make the bed, and for a couple, one partner can get out of bed without disturbing the other. The desk could then go where the closet space is now.
Wouldn't work. End of bed would then be against the upstairs railing with no room to get past to the balcony. If the bed is a queen it might work with a double but then bedspace becomes a problem for two adults of normal size.
@@aqueenslander turn the bed to the other wall and put closets on each side but no nightstand? Stairs take up too much space. Need a different solution
@Hamish Macbeth I looked at it further, and the stairs are actually too narrow anyway per the 2012 IRC. The stairs need to be 36" wide (91.44 cm); the stairs are rendered as 65 cm wide. A queen bed is 60" (152 cm) wide. Given that the interior width of the home is listed as 2.8 meters, a queen bed would only leave about 36 cm/14 inches of clearance between the railing and wall if the stairs have to be widened to meet IRC. If you could leave the stairs at 65 cm, then there should be around 63 cm/24 inches to work with between the rail and the wall. As far as I could tell, this appears to be a queen bed in the rendering - it stops just short of where the railing begins on the second floor, but it would still be a tight squeeze to move the bed out from the wall.
I would do a Murphy bed with closets on either side. And then do a drop down slab so you have a desk when you need it and when you don't, you put it up. Use a chair from the balcony since space is limited.
Now that I really really like. Because you can stand up in the room. I don’t want any lofts for me , but my grandson would love something like that too. Much love Elena 🐢❤️💋
Nice for warm climates - but I would prefer a porch as well, roofed by the second floor, being larger. For colder climate I would prefer water pipes not adjacent to outside walls; shower and kitchen on opposite side of inner wall. Better insulation and more robust construction overall. Traditional pointy roof to prevent accumulating heavy snow, allowing a stow-away attic.
definitely build for the climate. your ideas almost have to be done for a cold place. also remember to face south in a cold climate. ten to 15 degrees difference. i live in the hot humid south now facing south. plenty of trees blocking the sun. but most have cut their trees. dont know how they manage.

My teacher once told me that, as a human, we only need water and 2 meals a day, and half a bed space to sleep. Thus, to my teacher, this well-planned tiny home would be a true luxury for 2 persons!
Yes but society made us to believe that we need all the luxury stuffs that they advertise so that we work harder and be depressed... living simple is a threat to society!
I really like this tiny house, it's nice for a bachelor pad, a guest house, or a couple's retreat. It would be absolutely perfect if the place had a bathtub/shower combo.
A lot of young people being frugal and wise would skip the bathtub over having more utility, but you bring up excellent points (it could be targeted as a retreat, one example you gave, so true).
I do agree in that it would make a nice guest house for relatives, if they are not too old! Otherwise, let them stay in the regular house and homeowner could stay in it while guests were visiting.

This is a *great* design!! Just an FYI for alot of folks watching: One of the reasons most TH designs don't have full-height 2nd stories is because once a certain height limit is passed, your cost goes up a huge amount. This has nothing to do with the manufacturer, but the rules and regs of many states or counties. This height limit is usually set intentionally to discourage people from bringing their TH into their community because of the NIMBY problem. Some very vocal people don't like them because of what it does to the local housing prices and etc.

It's amazing how much better the design can be without the constraints of towing. To fit behind a vehicle its maximum width can only be 2.4m I think. But sitting here in this garden it can be that tiny bit wider at 3m. Makes all the difference.
I would never live in a tiny house, but this one has everything one would need. I like seeing the nice size fridge and laundry, and the best part is the actual bedroom. closet and deck. Very nicely done.
The fridge is huge especially for such a small house. I have combo washer/ dryers in Europe. The kitchen only needs a cooktop and microwave/convection oven, we have come so far since tbe 50's, so many options.
If I were single and someone said "would you like to live in this house?" I would jump at the chance! As long as it was on its own small plot of land for some garden space and giving me some room around me, it would be perfect for a single person but still has room for visitors! With good insulation and heating in winter and some cooling for summer I would love that!
With a proper insulatio of the walls and roof you will have only a space of 2.40 m x 5.40 m thats around 15 sqm. Tiny houses are american crappy ideas.
Standard country-house (dacha) with comfortable disigh. And two-storey is very good!
Ideally, slightly wider and longer. Wider: would accommodate a fitted wardrobe on both sides of a king size bed, and overstorage above the headboard. Longer: I'd much prefer a small porch/conservatory, underneath the balcony.

I was thinking the same thing about moving the bathroom to that location.
It is a lovely tiny house, though.
It's amazing how little we need to sustain, yet how much we want in life.
Hello Xiaomin

As already mentioned: one don't have to "crawl" to bed and the bed is a full-size one - not something that have to be prepared/folded out each time. Details like this makes a difference.
I would love to put two of those in my backyard, this is the best tiny home ive seen
This is probably the best tiny house I have ever seen. They design is Perfect!!
There were no closets downstairs. I am confused

Perfect ! For a single person living alone, this is it. Love it !
Excellent suggestions...SOLD! 👍
definitely build for the climate. your ideas almost have to be done for a cold place. also remember to face south in a cold climate. ten to 15 degrees difference. i live in the hot humid south now facing south. plenty of trees blocking the sun. but most have cut their trees. dont know how they manage.

These tiny homes are incredible. Some really old homes have small rooms but horrible layouts. These tiny homes are so compact and organized.
thank you
My teacher once told me that, as a human, we only need water and 2 meals a day, and half a bed space to sleep. Thus, to my teacher, this well-planned tiny home would be a true luxury for 2 persons!
lol, stupid teacher.
Not much of a life. Sounds like you teacher lived in a prison.

Yes but society made us to believe that we need all the luxury stuffs that they advertise so that we work harder and be depressed... living simple is a threat to society!
@@goodgirlsguide why? Is the door locked?
This could totally replace my towns trailer park, so cute, modern and practical!
This shed is good for a dog not for humans.
Worth it to extend the size a bit for a bathtub

This concept is great esp for renting place. Young tenants that coming back from work could have rest and nest comfortably 😉
This would be pretty neat a lake or ocean and if it had an extra large wrap around deck/patio for outdoor living. Cooking and sitting on a swing and just hanging out outside. This would be great for a getaway home for vacation
This is a *great* design!!
Just an FYI for alot of folks watching:
One of the reasons most TH designs don't have full-height 2nd stories is because once a certain height limit is passed, your cost goes up a huge amount. This has nothing to do with the manufacturer, but the rules and regs of many states or counties. This height limit is usually set intentionally to discourage people from bringing their TH into their community because of the NIMBY problem. Some very vocal people don't like them because of what it does to the local housing prices and etc.
Great info I didn't know that but quite logical

korek no need to pay monthly dues unlike in subdivisions and in condos, so many dues to pay every month.
It's amazing how much better the design can be without the constraints of towing.
