Hi @Krone Moz, thank you. Yes, very pleased with work done by the artisans on the rooftop. I appreciate you for watching and dropping a comment. Stay blessed🙏🏾
Hi @JADOK Plus, thank you. Great to hear from you. Agreed...we had frequent and oftentimes heavy rainfalls up through my recent visit. Cement waterproof works well. Waterproof cement (Sikalite) was used earlier to screed the sentry box rooftop and to build the platform for the polytank. Waterproof cement, if applied properly, is pretty effective in preventing water damage. Was in Lomé and away from YT for quite sometime. I hope all is well with you and family. Need to checkout @Jadok Plus soon. Thank you🙏🏾
Welcome back, Ayivi. I'm impressed with the brief view of the interior. The finishing is coming along nicely. As for the roof, your craftsmen are at their usual best!
Hi @Richard Latse, i hope you are doing fine. happy to read your post. Thank you for the compliments...still a long way to go. Will continue to share the journey on this platform. Please do come again!

Please Sir, do give us a feedbackas to if it worked well and the roof has actually become waterproof so that we upcoming can know if we can opt for hidden roofs. Thank you, great job!
@FARSDA Homes, thank you. Sure, schedules permitting, Kumasi [Garden City] should not be a problem. Please feel free to send an inquiry to ayivi.tv@gmail.com. Thank you🙏🏾

Welcome back. Very educational video. How do they may rain water flow to drain pipes without any perceivable sloping to the naked eye, must involve an enormous amount of skill, precision and attention to detail. Do you have drainage on all 4 sides or just on one or two sides of the building. I never noticed the drains in this video.
Hi Omil, thanks and thank you. Good thoughts...I pointed a viewer to one such drainage hole on the floor, beginning at 19:47. There are several drainage holes on all sides. If you look closely, you will spot them. The slopes were established by the masonry work during casting of the concrete rooftop slab. One of the reasons why debris and loose particles have to be removed, is to maintain the integrity of the slopes even after waterproofing materials are laid evenly on the surfaces. It is very delicate work. The waterproofing was done right as evidenced by proper drainage after the rains came. Omil, I appreciate your thoughts, comments and continued support 🙏🏾
Mr. Ayivi Thank you for sharing every step of this project with us. I have a similar project that I've been working on so this is very helpful. How this process is called in french? People who do this kind of job, how are they called in french? Do you have a contact for these contractors?
Hi @K G, you are welcome. Thanks for tuning in and thank you for the questions. The french names are Étanchéité bituminuese and Étanchéiste, respectively. Kindly send an inquiry regarding contractors to ayivi.tv@gmail.com. Please feel free to provide specifics of the job to be worked on. Thank you much.
Hi Sir Bright, thank you. I hope all is well with you, your family and projects. Happy to be back and thanks for the good question. To drain water, the rooftop was constructed with gradual slopes from the center towards the perimeter/all sides. Along the perimeter there are draining holes that channel rainwater to a hidden well in the backyard. One such drainage hole can be seen on the floor in this video, beginning at 19:47. For more on the hidden well, please see ua-cam.com/video/uzthU1uBDDI/v-deo.html Sir Bright, it is great to hear from you.🙏🏾
Hi Ayivi, Thanks for this video. Can you tell if the rooftop can be tiled or cemented after this? Can you also provide the contact information of the waterproofing company ?
Hello @Lassey P, you are welcome and thanks for tuning in. Yes. You can tile and in fact you can build on the waterproofed surface. Regarding the artisans, there were two (2) different crews of artisans in the video. The first, worked on most of the surface area. The second worked on the 25cm band all around (perimeter). There have been several inquiries by viewers about the artisans. Please feel free to send an email to ayivi.tv@gmail.com. kindly include your contact information and project particulars. Thank you.
