Hello Xuul!! Do you how i can enable the frame buffer effect and soft shadows in the game? I dont know why but theyre greyd out in the graphics option and theres no way i can turn them on! I've also tried to tweak the swkotor.ini file with these features but no cigar! Do you happen, by chance, to know how to do the trick?
Thanks for shouting out my mod manager! I'd like to add that mac/linux users must use the 'Mock case-insensitive file system' option. Located in the bottom right of the app. This was unchecked in the video because Xuul demonstrated this on a Windows PC. It is a requirement for non-windows users. YOUR INSTALL WILL BREAK IF YOU DISABLE THIS. It is ENABLED by default and should be left that way. Mucha shaka paka
I've despised doing full mod builds of KOTOR 1 and 2 for a long time because of how tedious it is, despite the result being astounding. This tool is exactly what I always wished existed.
Wizard's KotorMS is very useful for installing the mod builds. Something you forgot to cover though is the ability to deselect some mods you may not want. The left side of the main window UI has check mark boxes - usually all mod build mods are already selected when the toml is loaded - and you can click on it to deselect certain mods. Any mods that are required by another mod that have been deselected will also deselect the mod that has the requirement.
I was literally just talking with my BF about starting a new playthrough of KOTOR, and this pops up. Amazing timing. When Nexus Mods starts actually working again, I'm going to try this out! Appreciate it!
BRO oh my god man! Thank you so much dude back in the day you were tbe guy who taught me how to mod dao and Fo3! Good to see you back brother hopefully you can update your mod tutorials ❤
Was just getting ready to mod KOTOR for the first time and was about to install everything manually when I came across your video. Thank you so much. I'm sure if I'd done this manually I would've messed something up lol
For those who are getting errors. I recommend checking in CMD window that shows up right after you press "Pre-install Validation" what files you are missing. Some of them have 2 download links (like deadlystream and mega), you have to download them both. You might also have an issue with "KOTOR Dialogue Fixes". For some reason it wouldn't find the file no matter what I did. What ultimately helped me was changing the extension (in the TOML file with Notepad) from zip to 7z since 7z is how it would always be saved and changing the extension manually to zip did not help.
Just finshed with the full build of KOTOR 2 on a Windows system. Thank you both so much for the time and effort put into the system and the video. The only notes I have are make sure you get the TSLRCM from the google Docs and not Deadly Stream. For whatever reason it kept downloading as an application only and not the Zip file I needed.
@Xuul_ I used the mod list you showed in the video for my last game. Wow, it really ups the whole game. Even after 25 plus playthroughs this game is amazing. Love the content man, glad to see you're uploading :)
Had to give up on HD Carth, Ordo and Juhani overhaul and the whole Senni Vek thing (all filenames and types of Senni seems particularly depreciated) but I was able to go to install with 126 mods. Still worth the hassle!
Some mods like Scoundrel DS underwear are not in the current full mod build yet are in the TOML instructions, you will "fail" the pre install validation, but this will have no impact on your game.
Fix - For those of us who went through this whole process and were still missing the 'Compatibility Patch' files: they are at the bottom of the same nexusmods page for the 'Ultimate Character Overhaul' mod. Scroll down and you will see a section called 'Optional Files'. This could have been explained better in the video or on the KOTOR Community Portal site.
5:42 I'm having issues, my console is telling me that I don't have a file that is not even in the spoiler free build, I downloaded all the mods like you said, but my console still says there are missing files (eg: Bastila Shan HD, this mod was not on the spoiler free build and the console is saying that it's missing)
I don't suppose there's any chance of the Senni Vek thing getting fixed? Apparently the mod's files have been renamed by it's creator, so mod sync is now looking for files that don't exist.
The Community patch is failing for me, I noticed that the mod build page links to v1.10 but while installing mods, it says something about v1.9.2 ... what the heck?
You should actually do some examples of how to download them to the folder. The community page says specifically to not extract all into a single folder, so I am a bit confused.
@@AidenSharpe-e4x I did but it did not work for that one when I tried it. but i have already completed the game and it was fantastic even without that mod.
This is broken. It keeps saying that I need to 'extract' and that the issue is that there are missing required archives. Even though I've double checked and I have every mod installed on the list and did it exactly how it was done in this video. I don't think this works anymore :(
the required files are very slightly mismatched. if you download them through the mod sync links rather than the community portal youll be fine. remember you have to relaunch the client every time you want to do a pre install check.
Problem for me is the .toml file doesn't match the mod build on neocities. It expects files that aren't there & there are only 145 mods when I downloaded 153.
Yes, and If you also apply the widescreen fixes you should be launching from the exe file anyway. I was going to say there hasnt been an update to this game in years but last time I did they updated kotor 2 a few months later.
I am sure I am missing something I downloaded everything. Put it in a single folder, but when I go to the the pre install check it says everything is missing. AT the end it gives me an error about white listing
I was running into the same issue and just fixed it. Just type the name of the mod on google as appears when you click Pre-install validation. Then download. Some mods have different patch versions. Like the high resolution maps have a TPC version (which is what the modsync wants but some people download TGA instead.) Also some mods require like multiple mods to download when you click on the link. Resort to the link within the modsync mod if google doesn't help. Hope this helps someone out there. Took me a bit to figure this out.
tried this the other day and still was somehow missing some mods when i ran the checker. why isn't there just a mega folder of all mods to make using the sync list even easier
Yeah I ended up giving up. Spent 6+ hours downloading and reading and still some how missed files. Mega mod packs are available for tons of games, this one NEEDS it to work imo
can someone just give a folder with the entire kotor 1 and 2 full mod build into two folders so i dont have to painstakingly download each and of one of the goddamn mods
Any faster method then manually going through each mod and downloading it? seems like a lot of work just to download the 137* mods if this helps broker installing it
Hey Xuul, thank you for your wonderful video, it's really helpful. I like your content, you have a new subscriber here, hoping to see more after the 5 year break 🙂
So are any of these mods bundled up nicely in one big archive or is there some sort of package manager for downloading them? Or do we have only the option of doing this Linux From Scratch style, fetching each archive manually?
Hello man thanks a lot for your video from France ! I have a question, can I use the 4GB patcher even if I am running my game on steam ? Of course I have the editable executable from your wildscreen video. Thanks again 😀
The mod Build does not include The jedi Temple mod or M4-78. Does no one use these mods anymore? Also do I have to use every mod in the mod build or can I just not install some?
well I spent 18 hours on this and still have 7 I cant find. did a full reinstall 3 times with everything and still nothing so I guess this list is out of date...
I had the same problem. The compatibility patches are at the bottom of the same nexusmods page for the 'Ultimate Character Overhaul' mod. Scroll down and you will see a section called 'Optional Files. This could have been explained better in the video or on the KOTOR Community Portal site.
Calling this effortless is absurd. Manually downloading all the mods via a regular browser with no steramlining from a list is significantly worse than what comparative tools like Wabbajack have achieved for other games
When I last actually used this list everything was working at the time. If you run into an issue with the TOML file you will need to contact the author.
Important node for Mac / Linux users - make sure you have "Mock Case-Insensitive Filepath" enabled.

Thank you for including the Mac side of this, and just the manager in general! This is awesome!
does this work at all with kotor 2?
is there a reason for holopather over tslpatcher?
I've despised doing full mod builds of KOTOR 1 and 2 for a long time because of how tedious it is, despite the result being astounding. This tool is exactly what I always wished existed.
Yes, it was pretty easy for me to set things up, hopefully this means we can see more lists and such in the future

Hey nice to see you again!
Thanks! Good to hear from you as well.
Still going strong with the KOTOR Mods thanks for all your help when modding this game now i just need to get the game to work on Win 11 hahaha
damn this would have been amazing for my recent kotor play through... no doubt will be useful for my kotor2 one hhaha
thanks man!
I used it to set K1 up and it worked really well. I actually got to play the game for once, instead of just modding it which was a nice change

Thanks mate im just finishing kotor 1 on android going to play 2 on pc so this is amazing :D
can i download win10 file if i have windows 11?
I love your tutorials bro 💪 big thanks!
Great that you are back! Any chance you'd ever do a video on the KOTOR discord/old reddit mod builds?
5:42 I'm having issues, my console is telling me that I don't have a file that is not even in the spoiler free build, I downloaded all the mods like you said, but my console still says there are missing files (eg: Bastila Shan HD, this mod was not on the spoiler free build and the console is saying that it's missing)
just google Bastila Shan HD and download the mod, it isnt in the list for some reason. That fixed it for me
search for the bastilla shan HD in the deadly stream website, I found it in there.
I don't suppose there's any chance of the Senni Vek thing getting fixed? Apparently the mod's files have been renamed by it's creator, so mod sync is now looking for files that don't exist.
OMG, why did I find this AFTER manually doing the whole Community Portal build!?
man i keep getting Instruction #1: 'Extract'
Issue: Missing Required Archives when i have everything installed.
I also get this, I've got 13 'Extract Issue: Missing Required Archives' when I also have everything installed.
The Community patch is failing for me, I noticed that the mod build page links to v1.10 but while installing mods, it says something about v1.9.2 ... what the heck?
You should actually do some examples of how to download them to the folder. The community page says specifically to not extract all into a single folder, so I am a bit confused.
Senni Vek Restoration seems to have the wrong name so the ModSync cant detect it and i dont know what you should do to fix it. So i didnt install it.
@@AidenSharpe-e4x I did but it did not work for that one when I tried it. but i have already completed the game and it was fantastic even without that mod.
I literally see more red than white on my command console. I don't understand how you only got a few errors.
Same. Errors everywhere on my command console even after tediously downloading every mod. Hard to believe he got it working flawlessly first time.
Love this. One thing though, your widescreen fix link doesn't work because the video in question is unlisted.
I keep having an error on TSL Updater for The Community patch. I tried a clean steam install and re dowload and still nothing.

hey i keep getting problems during validation could you help
Can you use this for kotor 2?
Thanks for the video! Got a link to your wallpaper as well, please? :)
For those using the Steam version, I am assuming that they need to disable automatic updates on KOTOR. Correct?
Yes, and If you also apply the widescreen fixes you should be launching from the exe file anyway. I was going to say there hasnt been an update to this game in years but last time I did they updated kotor 2 a few months later.

can you please make a tutorial on how to mod kotor on mobile
wish i found this yesterday...

Does this not work on win11? I don't see a download for it.
I just checked because I plan on trying it myself. The kotor modsync page on Nexus says it works on both windows 10 and 11.
Can someone help me with instructions for if I just want to install the K1 Community Patch?
I got lost after the toml file. I downloaded it and then what? That was a bit unclear to me
Where can I download all the mods in one link, is there a possibility?
Great video. I couldn't get Sunni mod to work. Tool is looking for some file and archive only have a .exe file. no biggie.
