This video basically sums up everything I've been advising my peers for quite a while. I remember when i had to take the MCAT a few years ago, I found myself only having 4 weeks of break to really do my studying. I had no content review whatsoever. I dived straight into practice tests and practice questions until they were exhausted and absolutely destroyed the MCAT. I've been using a similar method in medical school and its been working out really well. I don't consider myself to be above average in intelligence or recall by any means, but grinding practice questions can turn an average person like me into someone who scores above average. That's my personal experience ;).
Can you do a video on “ So you want to be a Psychiatrist”? I’d really like to know more about everything I need to do to be one like if I should major in Biology or Neuroscience etc.
I'm in a community college class for compTia A+ and have until august to learn everything. I have 6 practice exams to do from now until then. I plan on doing this for security+, network+ and others. Thank you for the info.
Every video of med school insiders actually makes sense and are very helpful and informative. Thank you for your hard work. Your videos make me want to study even though I have always hated studying.
I really like your videos! Very helpful! There's more 2 years off college for me, and I know that it is crucial from now on, to study properly. Thank you so much!
I feel very strangely that this video was made for me, because my MCAT is in five weeks and I keep missing "optics and physics" questions. Luckily, I have taken six practice tests already. The one I took yesterday was the first one I noticed to be a lot less grueling. I haven't reviewed the tests that thoroughly, though, because I noticed there was a ton of material I didn't even have a foundation for, so I went back to the text for a few days and made a ton of flashcards. Something I started doing was that I started keeping a piece of paper next to me while doing the test and quickly jotting down any terms of concepts I know I didn't know. This makes the review a lot less tedious, but I'm sure it's not as good as actually taking the time to go through the exam question by question.
Are you in medical school? If so you can sign up for a subscription at USMLE-Rx where they have system/organ and subject based questions that covers all the topics you need.
Hi, Do you advise anything else for learning concept heavy subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Neuroscience etc. I don't know any techniques I can use for actually learning it at first. Also, what should we do if we don't have access to many practise questions or past papers.
Ooh than u so much doctor for those valuable tips that had actually changed every aspect of med life physically , emotinally and mentally 💙🧚♀️💗 God bless u 🙏🙏🙏💓 Ps please tell me is it that hard for a 1st year student -as an introvert who is not good at communication with other med students - to be the first doctor in your family and have zero information about study strategies and med student life especially amid the epidemic of corona virus ???? Or am i just complaining too much ????
Can you make a video about applying to university for international students.... Please.. I don't know when I would apply to American universities cos our school calendar begins in January and ends in December
Hello Dr. Jubbal, I'm a 13-year-old (I'll go to grade 8 after this summer break) whose dream is to become a doctor. I want to ask you what are some ways that I can learn what I need to know about how to become a successful doctor at this age?
I read from studies there is a gap between learning the material and applying it; hence do you recommend me to do practice questions immediately, or one day after learning a new topic, or after having reviewed another time (to consolidate)? Thank you very much
I do agree that official practice test provised by institutions and sometimes teachers would be a great help in preparing for an exam. But what about samplexes? These are like collection of previous exams with or without the knowledge of the professor. I mean wouldnt that be considered cheating? Especially if the exams are being repeated? I mean arent we supposed to answer everything and not look into previous exams because its somehow a form of leakage?
My college gives a blob of questions but I never get around doing them completely cuz each essay takes like an hour for me to gather information and write. And there are like 10 essays along with multiple other short notes. How do I get around this problem? Also I get really uncomfortable when writing answer without looking at the textbook to see if what I’m writing is correct.😢 please help
It’s $25 dollars for ankimobile flashcards. You want to download the next one down, ankiapp flashcards (the one with 17K reviews). It’s basically the same thing for free, but your flashcard data doesn’t sync using the cloud
use ankiweb.net. It’s legit (as knockoff apps might have different formulas which leads to worse results), free, and syncs to the free application on pc
Hey Docter I’m going to my last year of middle school and I want to become a doctor but I don’t know how to get started what can I do pls help I’m lost 😷😔I tried the online you guys have but no one answers
There’s nothing you can do now besides build good study habits, etc., that you carry over into high school. Then in high school, you use those habits to get your grades up to get into a good college/get scholarships. There’s nothing really medicine specific that you can do until college
@Dennis Rue you mean the study technique videos? Or the decision to quit residency and have a business? I'm naturally skeptical about every piece of information I encounter.
Dennis Rue what about the channel do you think is questionable? Like the concept of becoming a Dr in general or specific content? If the latter, which content?
I agree with a lot of your tips for taking exams, but I don't understand why you continue to make videos about test taking strategies you can find all across the internet, when you don't have a SINGLE VIDEO about performing well CLINICALLY. You know, that super challenging thing that's a significant part of many people's 3rd and 4th year grades with virtually no resources available? PLEASE, use your connections and background to help 3rd and 4th year medical students who already know how to ace the test, but can't get clinical grades right.

I'm curious about that too!!
Do Canadian Med students take the USMLE?

you should probably ask your professor if it’s ok to use those. Better to be safe than sorry
Can you make a video of BS/MD programs please

Should be working now!
@medschoolinsiders Are there any alternatives to Anki for Apple because the app is $25.
It’s $25 dollars for ankimobile flashcards. You want to download the next one down, ankiapp flashcards (the one with 17K reviews). It’s basically the same thing for free, but your flashcard data doesn’t sync using the cloud
Btw it’s not made by the same company but it’s a free alternative
Desca thank you
Kawaiichibi fan tearspell13 the computer version is free and u can sync it with anki.web on a phone browser like chrome
use ankiweb.net. It’s legit (as knockoff apps might have different formulas which leads to worse results), free, and syncs to the free application on pc
Can you still be a doctor if you had Bs in HS?
Yes!
Which is better..studying by standing or sitting????
The problem is, I need practice questions right after a topic. But most question banks require you to study a lot of topics to start doing questions
Anyone else med school insiders first thing in the morning -studymkk
Ur soooo damn awsmmmmmmmmmmm🔥🔥🔥
Just commenting for the algorithm ❤️
Doing practice questions is useful in medical school, law school, engineering, physics and mathematics.
I wish the 8 AM exam were a thing. we taking 6AM MCAT now

Why would people dislike this?.... What is wrong with them?
@Dennis Rue did Q send you?

Dennis Rue what about the channel do you think is questionable? Like the concept of becoming a Dr in general or specific content? If the latter, which content?
Cool
I always never get practise exams done because I never feel like I have the content to do so, hence the reason why I unconsciously avoid them :((
I always feel the need to do a practice test beforehand, in order to see which topics I'm missing information on. You'll be surprised. Try it out
download “”AMBOSS Q BANK”” & you are good to go 🏅
