He Ping's mother tried to buy her son's freedom from Jia Qi, but why would she approach the father opposed to Jia Qi directly. If the parents went to the same school / university, was it not a loan between the friends? ...... like the story about the money being for her father's medical expenses but was actually used to pay off her mother's drug debts..... Jia Qi being oblivious of the whole deal. Having lots of mixed emotions right now. simply to say: If you try digging a hole for someone, be careful you do not fall into it.
