These are wonderful photos of my favorite era of the Beatles 63-66 .Thank you Elena
Love seeing these candid pictures of the guys. Gosh 1965 I was just 11 what wonderful music to grow up on just the best thank you guys for being with me all through the years! Big kiss!
Lol, I was 11 in 65 too.....Robber Soul was the very first Beatles album I listen to for many days on after it came out . I borrowed it from my friend who got it from his cousin back in England. This record was extremely difficult to buy back than in Poland .I love all the songs on this album till today. Great album. The Beatles were the best rock'n' roll band ever.
I was also 11 that year; adds some clarity to who the target audience was!
Incredible moment of history captured on these photos.
Thank you for sharing …..👍👍👍
they become more iconic every day
Wonderful photos of the Beatles- the Beathovens of Rock N Roll!
Great word-play spelling !
Strange ive seen most of this as the son of a 60s merseybeat band as you seem so young its just copied freely available .still recal john sat in the pub with my dad .
How so very rare images so well presented Elena! How so incredible clip! Absolutely enchanting! Thank you so very much my dear friend for sharing all this magic with us in your most exquisite way!
Another priceless photographic timepiece collection of the Lads. You've set a high standard, Elena. Thank you.
Wonderful pictures! It makes for a happy Saturday. Thank you. Happy Christmas🎄🎅
Amazing shots. So great to see these. Thank you!
Absolutely great photos. They must be the most photographed in the world. Thank you!
The LP they are playing is BB King Live at the Regal, that had just come out. Nice, one of my first blues records!
Another batch of really cool photos! 👍
So glad to see one of your videos! Been awhile 😃
How to find these amazing pics I'll never know. Always loved The Beatles and I so enjoyed looking at these rare photos. Thank you!
Loved your work Elena.
So, cool of a video well done too:"). I sure do hope that you have a bless Christmas my friend!!!!
Brilliant work again Elena. This is some truly historic documentation: at 3.39 John is - finally - facing the lens and obviously playing a Stratocaster. Now the Beatles were given 2 blue Strats by Brian Epstein this very same year which they used for recording Rubber Soul. We understand they never used Strats when playing in concert, but this is as close as can be: an actual rehearsal in a theatre ! Incredible pix I should say. You work is quite invaluable Elena.
I'm glad someone noticed the Strat! Actually, John sent Mal Evans out to pickup two Strats and he came back with 2 1961 Sonic Blue strats even though it was 1965! Brian Epstein did pay for them, but they sent Mal out to get them. Both of the strats must have been demo models as they were already 4 years old. We all know what George did with his.........Rocky! John played his strat on Ticket to Ride and they were used for both Rubber Soul and Revolver. Strats were hard to find in England in 1965!!!!
More controversy, as that isn't one of the Sonic Blue Strats that he and George got during the Rubber Soul recordings it's dark possibly black as john had a history with refinishing he's guitars in Black and even more rare it has a matching headstock!
has he refinished the sonic blue Strat or is another one, a previously undocumented Beatle instrument ?
From 0.24 thru to 0.40 shows close ups of the rear of the headstock and neck which seem to have a pattern/grain therefore possibly Birdseye Maple, which would match the sonic blue one? then again I've just seen a pic of John playing a sonic blue strat during the 'Pepper' sessions so who knows.....of course it could of been George's one as he hadn't yet given it the 'Rocky' paintjob.
Sorry my mistake apparently they were bought during the Help recordings
@@simonlaing7646 Actually the plot thickens : you're right when you rule out this Strat as being one of the Sonic Blues. John owned an early Strat which he bought a year before Mr Epstein presented both John and Paul with the 2 Sonic Blues. Scholarly libraries and Beatles cookbooks agree this first Strat was used by John for rhythm purposes as early as Ticket to Ride - while Paul played his preternatural lead licks on a sunburst Epiphone Casino. It further appears this first Strat was given a coat of paint in the UK. It may very well be - as you suggest - that this is the instrument we notice on Elena pictures. Since he already owned a Strat remodelled or redesigned after his taste, there's no reason to believe John had his Sonic Blue touched up. One wonders though why Lennon bothered to bring along his Strat to rehearsals as he ended up playing his faithful Rickenbacker in concert. We should assume he was curious to see how it sounded and felt in a theatre and that he was not over-pleased with the result. Although the court ruled against it for live performances, Strat must have been really convincing instruments in the recording studio - hence Rubber Soul.
Strats two were bought for rubber soul ocean blue
So Special the Fab Four' Images!
Thanks Elena*
Greetings*
Давненько не радовали нас. Классная подборка! Благодарю.♥️
merci vraiment de partager ces moments passés loin de nous qui ne les connaissions que par les disques et la radio, les journaux.
Great memories thank you for sharing
IT'S LIKE THE ANGELS CAME TO THE EARTH TO SHOW US SOMETHING.THAT'S WHAT I FEEL ABOUT THIS BAND
Great Photos!
Great photos. I've always wondered where they rehearsed before going on tour, after they became famous. These images have great historical value.
It´s incredible that this last British tour by the Beatles has no recording, not even audio.
That is amazing, probably trying to privatise their music at that stage they had found out they were being swindled left and right. It may exist in a deep vault somewhere.
A shame, though at this stage (before even Rubber Soul had come out) The Beatles presumably had no idea that within less than a year they'd stop touring forever!
Thank you Elena. I had always wondered where The Beatles rehearsed. And finally I have an answer. I don't know if this place was the only one they used during the years of touring.
Elena. Me gusta tu canal ☺️ Beatles por siempre
I love the Beatles so much
Dziękuję 🥰 Zdjęcia są fantastyczne!!!! Uwielbiam chłopaków gdy nie pozują!!! Cieplutko pozdrawiam 🥰💖🥰💖💖💖💖
Thanks❤
great pictures
What a great channel.
a mysterious time period for them; the low key, final British tour; post Rubber Soul & pre-Revolver; these photos are incredible; you don’t often see Lennon with a Strat in a live, performance scenario & George is playing some ES model Gibson…look how sparse that rehearsal facility is; no mics! hard to find audio from that tour
It has been said that the shows on this UK Tour were the BEST of their live years, yet No one had the fore sight to record any of them audio or video.
Is that right,? Love to see any articles or info on that.
John with a black Fender strat. Only picture I've seen of this guitar. Very nice,Elena!
George had the best hair and the prettiest wife.
Elena this is a keeper thank you sister Photographer of living in the castle of the Beatles
1965 and John playing the organ, Im guessing perhaps for "Im Down"
Tidak pernah bosan mendengar lagu2 Beatles… ❤️
Maybe (if we're lucky), one day someone will put out an extensive book chronicling that last British tour in 1965 and their last appearance at NME POLL WINNERS CONCERT in 1966. 😎👍🏾🎵🎼❤
Interesting to see the rehearsal lineup from a guitar perspective (differs from stage). John is playing a dark Fender Stratocaster, which George is on a Gibson (instead of a Gretsch or Rickenbacker). Lennon switches to the Rickenbacker in the later photos. Not too much later he and George would have light blue Strats. Great pics...again~~!
Ocean blue dark one likely borrowed while mal went to get the strats matching.
First time I’ve ever seen Lennon playing a Fender
They played WCWIO on this tour. Loved to have heard that.
WCWIO?
Ringo Starr Really good drummer
They were adding 5 new songs to their set list which they had not performed in concert yet , which was a lot considering they only played 12 songs at their concerts. Also, it is reported that Paul played organ on We Can Work it out and possibly on Yesterday. John used it on I'm Down
Wrong
@@dontgoout1434 No, this is all correct for their 1965 UK Tour.
never seen those photos before - and I've seen plenty. Interesting that they used a warehouse to rehearse, I thought bands started doing that only a lot later. Interesting to see also the small equipment compared to, for instance, warehouse rehearsals by Status Quo or Queen etc.. - and, it seems, they had no vocal microphones, at least not in these images (there were perhaps set up after the photo shoot)
Lennon’s Strat is black with matching headstock. It appears in the photos of all the guitars laid out before a gig on that tour.
Wrong completely read what i said earlier
John with a very rare black strat then back to his Rik
The best in there prime
And a BB KING album on the keyboard !
John was learning bb style seems you are all so unaware he commented on the style in anthology2
Rare images of John playing a Stratocaster.
To think that he would have bought a Strat in 1960?
George playing a Gibson ES 345 and John with a Strat.
Hi Elena, I love your photos of the Fab 4.
I wanted to ask if you have ever seen a photo of the session for ‘You Know My Name (look up the number)’ 8 June 1967 with Brian Jones of The Stones?
There is none
Wish you could make a guess as to what songs they rehearse and title it then add just a quick few notes of the lads.
Sure would be cool if we could hear what they were playing in each of the photos. What were they playing when John was on the keys - and what were they playing wen Paul was on the keys..? Would love to know... I know they performed "I'm Down" during this time period... and they also played "We Can Work It Out" live during the late 1965 British tour.
Im down john . Paul never played keys live the last tour was rubbish in uk. Bad info again .
Elena thank u for all this, where do you get the music, is Amazin, any reference of it?
I wonder which songs they’re rehearsing. The one where Johns at the keyboard suggests we can work it out, the night before, or I’m down...but I guess he was playing a lot of piano around this time
As Mr. McGoo would say ; "Oh Elena.....you've done it again" !
It was first used to ripen bananas for Convent Garden market and then a private rehearsal space and in 1977 became the Dolmar
John using a Fender Strato, unique with the Beatles live. I guess it´s the same he played on with Elton John in 1975.
I think he played a black telecaster with Elton.
3:12 - Is that the famous feedback note before I Feel Fine?
I find it interesting that Paul is using a Fender bass amp here? I didn't think that started happening till 1968?
Yeah its Bassman blonde tolex I think. There are other photos of him using it in the studio during the Rubber Soul sessions. They still had a deal with Vox for live performances that expired at Epsteins death but in the studio they weren't bound by that agreement. John with a dark colored strat and George with a Gibson 345.
Wrong fender bassman sticker on his hofner on rooftop. Came ouy in 64. Aimed at jazzers
Does anyone know what the first background tune is?
Reminds me of the group .38 Special.
Agree sounds like the 38 Special's "Hold on Loosely".
Some of these look like screen shots... I hope they aren't because that would mean there is actual footage of this instead of just photos...! Get Back has made me prone to daydream about more Beatles interaction on candid film, lol.
Where does Elena get all these great pictures?
This was probably the last time they bothered to do serious rehearsing before a show. Considering the fans who went to their shows were there just to go briefly insane at the site of the Beatles.
Leí alguna vez un comentario de Elena que no podía poner canciones de The Beatles por una cuestión de derechos o algo así pero quizás pasando Covers de grupos que hacen excelentes versiones de The Beatles se podría solucionar el tema de la música de los vídeos
What is it in John's hands? Black strat? Some dark strat? Doesn't look like sonic blue, a pair of which has been bought by John and George.
Nice compilation, but it could have done with a slightly more contemporary soundtrack.
The other guy in the first couple of photos looks like Jack Bruce, later bassist for Cream.
Neil Aspinall
Johns playing black stratocaster 😵
WHAT?? Black strat with a matching headstock?
Rubber Soul was still being recorded
No they'd finished recording on the 11th November and the final mixing was on the 15th.
@@scottandrewbrass1931 like I said Rubber Soul was still being recorded. It was released on December 3, 1965. In the UK. Along with RS, We can work it out/Day Tripper was released as a single. You’re right.
Someone else sitting at the drums in a pic r 2
Did John used the Stratocaster in that show? 😲
Varied mate never used black strat likely borrowed from tony of the hollys next door to try it
@@dontgoout1434 :o
Great photos but the music doesn't fits...anyway are you loving the "get back" docu series? Your thoughts?
John's black stratocaster with black matching headstock is becoming a great Fab Four mystery, it might have been borrowed or Brian Epstein had it custom painted to match his rickenbacker, anyone know about this ?
A Guitar Player article from several years ago on Beatles gear said basically that no one really knows how it came about with that headstock color, as colored headstocks were custom shopped only then, and that no one knows what happened to that strat or where it is now. I never followed up on that info, but I've never heard different either. My two cents anyway.
I've got it. Just kidding...
@@bendummitt888 Right next to where you keep The Holy Grail?
Elena, why haven't you acknowledged that the photos were all taken by the brilliant Robert Whitaker, rather than accepting kudos from those who congratulate you for them?
Great its disgusting robert was my dads mate
PM, needs to cut down on the Ciggies,...it was Bad, for His Health!
"....PM, needs to cut down on the Ciggies,...it was Bad, for His Health !...".
As George found out to his cost !
Anyone who smokes, knowing full well the dangers involved, is an absolute fool. Why would you voluntarily pay a tobacco company to slowly poison you ? Which is just what you're doing ! Think about it.
Lennon playing a Strat?
A message to all up-and-coming bands, NEVER go into a studio to write or rehearse, the costs are huge. Do what they are doing here, a hall or warehouse (cheap to rent) get your music down as close to as you want it as possible, THEN go into the expensive studio.
Agree, but this was rehearsing for an upcoming tour, not studio recording which they'd just finished.
Its due to fame not money be riots at more posh place
bizarre that they use a background track that isn't the Beatles
Not to take anything away from the pictures but wouldn't a Beatles background song have been more appropriate? wtf
no audio-clickbait
That first pic of Paul looks awfully like Paul in his later Beatle years….
Lets put the conspiracy to rest people
Yeah the beatle no beatle here
Great photos..........get rid of the horrible background music
Not the Beatles plying. Just some cool photos, but not the Beatles.
I'm sorry, but that doesn't sound like the Beatles to me. Great pictures, Great music but no! Not the Beatles.
And who’s playing the music…. It sure isn’t the Beatles……
photos dont play music
Paul needs to have a cystoscopy to discover whether he has bladder cancer. He smoked so much tobacco, in his youth, that if his health is ever going to pay the price, it would be now.
I'm trying to think ...nope, this is the worst music for a Beatles video imaginable. Well played.
What a crappy looking place to rehearse. I bet the acoustics were horrible in there. They should have bought a building just for that.
Terrible music not at all suited to the subject matter... yuck! BOSS ROCK...
I thought I was going to HEAR The Beatles not some crappy music not even Beatlely at all. Rip off of my time!
