First of all, I've seen tyrells build and this is still my favorite. My girlfriend likes high fantasy fiction and I wanted to make her something nice. Being an amateur bladesmith and blacksmith, I thought it would be easier and more appropriate to build her a sword the size of "needle" but with a proper double edge. You *ABSOLUTELY NAILED* what I was looking for!! The black guard and pommel standing out only because of their geometry to beautifully Contrast a gorgeous burl handle, then there's the blade profile... I love how the edge stops well before the guard and the bottle neck behind it. It just makes it look so elegant. Slightly longer blade and handle and km there!
Congratulations, Drew, on some incredible work to build this dagger. You have learned a great deal about metalworking and blade smithing at only age 17, and it will be great to watch you make more products in the future (I hope ... I just subscribed). Great job and Good Luck !
Honestly out of every build in the series this one speaks to me the most. It's elegant without being flashy, and it's well-crafted and has some absolutely stunning design work involved. Thanks for making this just so I could see it.
wow !!! you did a amazing job on your dagger Drew you are very talented very kind of WILL to let you use his shop this is 1 of the best daggers ive seen so far amazing job 👍👍 for sure Mark
Wise and skilled far beyond your years!! Seriously impressive! The sky is the limit for this “kid” - keeping a keen eye on your channel! Dennis Tyrell definitely has an eye for talent - thankful that he included you in this challenge!! Special mention and massive credit to Will for helping a fellow smith out - what a champ!
Great work Drew! Seriously excellent craftsmanship in your work here, it's certainly the best build I've seen in this challenge so far as well. Keep up the good work ⚒️👍👍
Stoked to see you enter this challenge, Drew! Will is a great supporter. EDIT: This is an absolute phenomenal build, Drew: you have my vote! So much potential!
Outstanding work Young Man! I have to say that this blade is perhaps one of the very best of the daggers I have watched being built so far. I disagree with some of the final finishing but that is simply down to personal taste. Thank you for sharing with us your build, I would have to say that I might actually vote for your project, I haven't finished watching all of the daggers yet, but yours is definitely in the top five! Well done! Keep working on your talents, they will continue to grow and one day you might actually be another blade master like Kyle Royer! I urge you to seriously consider taking your skills to formal school, and learn as much as you can so you too can call yourself a Blade Master Craftsman, you have your entire life ahead of you, and being your own boss is the best way to plan for the future! Good Luck!!!
A couple requests for the next video Bust some dance moves while you're waiting on the forge. Maybe trim some nose hairs too. Instead of using that cheap wood chisel on the lathe, try a banana. Have you ever tried staining the blade with a cherry Slurpee instead of coffee? BTW, I think yours is the most dagger-looking dagger of the lot.
You should be proud of the forging work you did, absolutely great looking knife. Will Is one heck of a great guy to allow you to utilize his tools and knowledge.
Well done, you have made a stunning blade to be proud of, you showed talent and skill well . Great to see other smiths helping and guide you, this how it should be done, I hope some day you in turn will pass on what they have taught you and what you have learned yourself to future smiths. Once again well done, take care, God bless one and all.
Dude, this is one gorgeous blade! I thought Tyrell Knifeworks had the nicest blade in this challenge, but seeing this piece of sharp art made me change my mind. And on a side note: nice Suunto Core, they're great watches.
That turned out great. Nice work. It’s awesome to see young smiths taking to this trade with such pride in there work. Tell Mr. Will he needs to join in on the next challenge. 😉
Awesome peice of blade art fella , great skills and technique and an absolutely stunning dagger to boot . I have a short list of three and your in it .
They are pretty dang nice, super comfortable and have a noise canceling feature. I wouldn’t say they are quite as good as dedicated shop headphones but they definitely are good enough for what I am doing.
I’d vote for you if my husband wasn’t in the challenge! Shhh, don’t tell Dustin 🤫 But seriously, you made a beautiful and elegant dagger with clean lines and well-balanced proportions. The design is perfectly executed. We’ll done!
Dang impressive dagger - that is an amazing accomplishment - the final result is a work of art. I think the old masters have to watch their back 😉! BTW - would be really interesting if you ever choose to get into crafting a Wootz blade - that gets down to concocting your own crucible steel so maybe not your cup of tea at the moment, but check out FZ's channel if you haven't already. Again, awesome blade! 👍
What a beautiful blade! I really love it! Must admit that I am not so keen in the music in the background of the video but that I can turn off! I guess, we have all different taste. :)
Great job, Wonderfull looking blade. And kudos to Will, I've never met him and I probably never Will but I have alway enjoyed watching him work, personally I think he's a better blade smith then Alec and he probably taught as much as he learned. Sorry this is about you, not Will, what a truly beautiful piece of work. Be very proud of it.
You say you’re the youngest and least experienced Blade-smith in this competition? Well my Man I can’t wait to see your future works then, as this is just amazing!!! Great work!!!
VOTING LINK! Please vote for your favorite dagger.

Thanks! He sure is!
Great work on the free-hand grind. I imagine it was difficult to keep that center line symmetrical but you nailed it.
Thank you, yes it is especially on a blade this long!

There is one more question I want to ask, how about the Bose headphones at the beginning of the film, how about the effect of active noise reduction?
They are pretty dang nice, super comfortable and have a noise canceling feature. I wouldn’t say they are quite as good as dedicated shop headphones but they definitely are good enough for what I am doing.
@@Drew_lininger Thanks for your answer, it's already on its way.🍻
Seriously, You got work in Will's shop. You are a winner already. Yes, I'm super jealous.
Haha thank you!
