Kerri doesn't set, raise the bar, he "Is the Bar". His dedication to house music, mixing, production etc. has him In a class by himself. How many DJ's would do this kind of mix? I am "old" enough to have seen Kerri play live back in his Zanzibar days when I lived in NJ/NY. Those sets were amazing and left you waiting for his next appearance. This here has me feeling the same...bring it Kerri. Next time lets hear from that majestic "Library" of vinyl. Can only imagine the gems stored on vinyl.
I don't know of any DJ that would even attempt to mix with reel to reel. The fact that he figured out how to do so and seamlessly is impressive in itself.
The setup is crazy, never seen anyone DJing reel to reel before... No sync button or beat touch pads, just reel to reel tapes... It looks simple but that would take many hours to practice... Back in the 90s I used to keep an old JVC dual-cassette with "pitch control" hooked up to my rig and sneak a cheeky track or two into my vinyl mixtapes but still had to ride the pitch on whatever was going on the tables to keep it tight. This right here? The loading and cueing process, that granular mixer, the flawless technique? God-Level Deejay Skills, amazingly well done!
