[ ABOUT THE RELEASE ] For the first time in our channel, we are glad to present the digitized album featuring the soundtrack from the legendary martial arts film starring Jet Li, Martial Arts of Shaolin. As it is common with film soundtracks released back in the day, this unique album was only released on vinyl by the Japanese label Victor under the license from TOWA. The film soundtrack got 2 official releases: a 7 inch single which included the film's main theme as well as the ''Theme of Sorrow'' performed by David Lui (catalogue number VIPX-1838) and a complete album featuring the film score (catalogue number VIP-28127) mixed with dialogues in between which we are now glad to present here in the best possible quality. The score itself is very similar in style to other scores composed by the James Wong - Romeo Diaz duo during the period such as those for Yes Madam (1985), Righting Wrongs (1986) and Dragons Forever (1988) and include a wide range of traditional instruments combined with modern electric guitars, synthesizers and sequencers which give them this truly unmistakable sound.
