How about Steve ditko?
Apparently he was abused in his last years of life by his business partners according to his family.
The Irony that you didn’t mention Steve Ditko. 😔
Steve Ditko comes to mind, being a vital part of the industry but in life he never really got what he deserved or even wanted until he went indie, but even that was more of an underground thing away from all the glitz and glamour of his former repute
he also had a thing for femdom and incorporated it into the comics

@@edgarsalazar5521 that’s true but there’s more to it. This is a pretty true comic. And here's a real view on the realistic aspects of this. When Hugh Jackman was asked to play Wolverine, he thought he was literally going to be an animal. He showed app and he didn't even know who Wolverine from the x men was yet. He continued to play the character, not knowing who this popular character was that was around way before his career and made his career. True story
@@RichardWilliams-zb4eo yes, except Hugh Jackman actually cares about Wolverine now, and has grown fond of him
I really dont see the ussue with him not knowing Wolverine, like directors are there for a reason, you don't need to research and study decades of publication to get ready for the role, it certainly helps if you got that knowledge, but I don't agree with the notion that everyone on a production needs to be fan of the material adapted, being a fan doesn't mean you automatically know how to tell a good story, or even understand the character you're a fan of, Spiderman Lotus is painful proof of this.
At the end of the day it's a creative process, and professionalism and creativity are the most important, a wikipedia knowledge of the source material for the sake of fan service alone is worthless, some of the best movies aren't that faithful of an adaptation but still rock, plus current superhero adaptations tend to suck because of all the money in the industry, every producer wants to ensure it sells and end up suffocating the project with bad decisions in serve of profit.
@@RichardWilliams-zb4eo well in the end he is considered one of the best casting for a character
@ginogatash4030 yes and no... like... I don't have much formal study in theater but it's enough experience to know how much teather actors care about the characters. Maybe the reason is how many times they do the same character and expose themselves to it (you definitely see this in some works from Hugh Jackman such as les Miserables and the Greatest showman). But with hero movies it's seems like the show biss people tell: they just go to the gym, put a coolant and show up...
@@theGhostSteward well I don't know what you expect, getting trained in theatre means you learn shit about theatre and famous plays meaning they're likely to be into theatre stuff more, though they still obviously can fall in love with superhero roles too, and if not for the series for the acting job at least.
It's like being surprised at superhero comicbook writers and artists being absolute nerds of Marvel and DC stuff while knowing nothing about manga and anime, it's not impossible to be into both but most creatives are just more likely to enjoy stuff relative to their specialization than other stuff.
Superman is the best example of this
how. i do wonder
@lukefortune8314 superman was bought for only $2,814 (that's counting for inflation since 1938) and the creators were reaped of royalties
@@lukefortune8314 Kid named Injustice Superman:
@@lukefortune8314 Just look at most of the popular series today. The Boys and Invencible, even Injustice Superman are main examples we have of people taking a "piece" of the idea of Superman and just making it dark and edgy.
@@GloriousSquizoKing.That’s different, it’s taking the idea of Superman and twisting it and showing a different way to portray him. It’s not actually having him, in his original form, in that way. The injustice Superman is an AU of him. Invincible and boys aren’t even in the same continuity.
This why we get so happy when an actor confesses they're a fan of the character they're playing
I’m a bigger DC guy than Marvel but I loved both since a kid. When Stan Lee died & his daughter said Disney didn’t treat him good, other fans said Disney did treat him good because they put him in their movies. They wouldn’t have those movies if it weren’t for him & others. And just bc they publicly loved him doesn’t mean he was always treated that way. Soooooooo basically Disney

which one?
Most fans don’t even care about the creators or the people who do the work. It’s the nature of consumerism.
@@AzathothTheTrueGod I care
@@joserobertosolismerlin5527 Good. My point remains though. People claim ownership of things they’re fans of and then get mad when it’s not specifically for them.
@@AzathothTheTrueGodExcept for some of Star Wars and Indiana Jones, i generally only see it happening as you described when there is a new writter trashing on the creator's original vision that so many fans became fond (something that is one of the points of the comic from this shorts), specially if it is politically motivated.
@@Another_Hibiki I disagree because people get mad that X-Men is “woke” when the original vision was ALWAYS an allegory for discriminated people. Not a great one because the X-Men have powers that could easily kill large groups of people but still.
Punisher always hated seeing cops with his logo because as he says “that’s not for people who are supposed to be good”. Yet people still get mad when you mention that even though it’s the writers vision. He’s aware of who he is and that he’s not a “good guy”.
If Superman came out today he’d be called woke because he was made by two Jewish immigrants who wished for a hero that would stop all the bigotry and inspire people to be the best of humanity. He even for a time renounced his citizenship when there were some Luthor shenanigans.
People got mad when Captain America said he sees all Americans as equal and wasn’t a warmonger with an “ends justify the means” mentality”. When Falcon became his sidekick people said it was pandering. When he didn’t want illegals to be harmed people got upset even though he mentioned why the immigration process is at times sluggish. When he changed his costume people said he was “siding with illegals” because it looked kinda like Puerto Rican flag with the chevrons. And when he was killed during Civil War people said it was to insult the US.
Comics in general go through constant changes, retcons, reboots, revivals, deaths etc and fans today get too angry about it. A lot of the edgy extreme 90s redesigns from when I was a kid were hated. Punisher died twice, was an Angel, a magic wielder, and when he was killed by Wolverines son was put back together as “Frank-N-Castle”.
People forget that some folks had issues with Storm and Colossus when they came out. Because Storm was black, and Colossus was a Russian who everyone thought would make the XMen commies. People had an issue with Miles Morales for being black and Hispanic.
It’s why people say “this isn’t MY Marvel/DC” because they demand ownership and don’t want anyone else to do the same. People take it way too seriously and think any change or disagreement is a personal attack.
When it comes to the movies those are made ENTIRELY to cater to younger people and make money. People pretend like they’re the comics and are meant for those in their 30s-40s. Same with Star Wars. We liked them as kids.
Hell people are upset that POKÉMON is “too easy now” and not that they played them as literal CHILDREN with child brains. They aren’t meant for adults but they can play them if they want.
That’s what I’m getting at. I understand when things are market tested to hit the quadrants and have to have a checklist of ethnicity, sexuality, body type, sex. But that’s been around since Captain Planet. It’s just much more blatant to an insulting degree.
@@Another_Hibiki Sorry for the long message. But I thought you deserved a substantial answer with full context. I know that’s not everyone btw. Nor am I saying anyone with any issue is wrong. Many criticisms are valid just wrong when they feel personally hurt.

I need everyone at Warner bros and Disney especially at star wars and marvel to see this: You either pay respect to the thing you're working on, to the fans, to the OG creator, and for actors to do justice to the characters they're playing as or using or you get the hell out. Unfortunately warner bros and Disney have lost that golden rule
Lost, or deliberately ignored?

Dragon Ball evolution... RIP Toriyama...the actor who played Goku apologized for messing it up😢
Nah it wasn't Justin. He actually read up on the material. It was the script writer who apologized, because he had rushed the film ,and even then he had only gotten the job because Fox tried to maintain their rights for a film and didn't care how. And even then when he had turned in a better script closer to the original Fox kept turning them down. Leading to no one caring for Toriyama's view on set. And as a result a horrible film.
Later the english voice actor for Zamasu, who had also read up on DB and also played Piccolo in Evolution it was explained by English Voice Cas for the Anime how he also apologized in his own way and took on the role of Zamasu for free because he wanted to make it back to the fans.

Basically , if Tolkien was around to see Rings of Power .
Tolkien sold off the rights when he was still alive and that's why we got the subpar animated movies
Star wars hits different 😔😔
Well, when the creators chose to go independent and formed Image all we got were edgy 90s super heroes. Even in the 80s we got dark and edgy Batman from Miller or the Charlton comics expys The Watchmen, but this and other examples were praised at the time and are now still held up as high art. The larger pattern is that Superheroes as a genre only seemed wholesome and sanitized during the Silver age when the Comics Code was first put into effect. Previously, Golden Age heroes were violent and dogmatic, only giving way in popularity to romance, horror, western and sci fi comics in the post war years. And as soon as the comics code was relaxed in the 70s we saw a return to the grittier side of super heroes, which continued throughout the dark 80s, the extreme 90s, and into the post 911 world that has permeated the 21st century.
This video and the comic it presents has a grain of truth but seems to be ignorant of the overall history of comics and super heroes in general.

It's very depressing but extremely realistic
that's why manga or solo running series are better most of the time from both writers perspective and consistency
"not saying it's bad if someone else wrote it the story can be good af but i can assure you iver time it won't be consistent nor as visioned by the writer no matter what you do"
And then there's localization that pulls the same bullshit that comics go through.
Though manga definitely has it's own issues with weekly manga having crazy deadlines that leave no room for personal life continuously and the fact that in many action magazines you aren't able to have proper slow moments and downtime for fear of your series dropping in popularity and getting axed. When it's just one writer and they can't take long breaks until they've hit it big big, that wears on a person and can drop the quality in its own way as opposed to multiple authors who only have to lock in for their run.
@@The_Evening_Sun those aren't plot related issues

such as producers and editors have major control on comics than manga
and creative liberty is limited as it's not only your own comic but a work of others as well
@@ashurarts7825 those are plot related issues. Many series had sudden drops in quality or had some really had storylines because the author was suffering burnout. It also impacts the flow of many series as many of them try and have constant action, and often struggle with slow moments with character development as they're afraid doing chapters like that will get them axed.
