My sister and I went to Banana Bay on a Carnival excursion early December 2023. What a beautiful beach! We had a wonderful day. Food was very affordable too! There is such a large sandbar I was able to walk so far out on a nice sand bottom! Later we walked down the beach and found some empty conch shells we were able to bring back and a live conch I took a pic of and turned him back over to enjoy his Banana Bay life. I would do this again in a heartbeat!

Banana Bay looks beautiful and relaxing. I loved that there were not many people there. That is our vibe. I a debating what to do in Freeport for my family of four, husband and 2 kids ages 5 and 2. It is between Banana Bay and Pirates cove. How do the two compare?

Do you have to stay the whole time or is there a bus or taxi if we need to leave early? Thanks for the videos! You’re the best, big hugs from Houston for you and Robert.
Hi my friend! I am sorry I didn't say that in the video, I am usually thinking about those same things. No there was not a taxi BUT you could call for one but it would be expensive as it was about 25-30 minutes from the port. We were actually only there for about 3 hours which didn't feel too long. That is about our limit for wanting to be at a beach, especially when we cannot eat. This beach was so peaceful I think I actually could have managed a bit longer there. The music and loud people are usually what makes me want to go back to the ship ( and being cold! haha!) And yes, a Carnival Excursion. Hugs!!!!

Thanks for the video it looks amazing going on this one in the next 22 days :) I'm a first time cruiser and my biggest fear is going on an excursion and not making it back to the port in time. My question is...... do they sent the a bus back to pick you up or do you have to make your own arrangements to get back. Any info would be much appreciated
Hi, if you are on a cruise ship sponsored excursion, unless otherwise noted, there will be transportation to and from the ship. So if you are booking this same excursion the bus took us to the destination and brought us back to the ship. I did show this in the video. Lastly, if you are on a cruise line sponsored excursion, you purchased your excursion from the cruise line then the ship will wait for your excursion to return if it is late unless the excursion is a come and go at your leisure type of ticket. I hope this helps. I was worried before, too. When we first started cruising I didn't even want to take excursions for fear we would not return in time. Pay attention to the ships time, stay on ships time and pay attention to what the all on board time is. Have fun! Cruising is amazing and a great way to travel!
I will be in Freeport from a Norwegian cruise on Easter weekend. Is it possible to do this without an excursion from the cruise as Norwegian at this time has no excursions listed for Freeport on our cruise.
Hi! You should be able to take a taxi from the port to Banana Bay. It is a bit of a long drive so make sure you arrange with your taxi driver a return pick up and get his/her phone number. There were people that came by taxi but the resort did warn they don't like to come because it is far.
