This song is the definition of being a feature on your own song.😂😂
I bet Rockwell thought he did something with this song too. When it was all MJ vocals that set it off. 😅
@Thelastonesleft-p8t facts ask French Montana. He swears that "Unforgettable" was his song but we all know Swae Lee was the reason we loved it. 😂😂
That’s song always sounded like a continuation of thriller
When I was growing up each Halloween, you always heard this song and thriller the most
Mike helping his friend get a hit at the height of his career is super dope.
@@samanthamelvin4067: he HAD to be TALENTED regardless of WHO his Dad was!!!!
Mike voice made the song
Good thing joe Jackson had little Michael's balls chemically removed so he could keep that girly voice. Only problem is it made Michael crave the balls of young boys.
Grew up thinking this was a Michael song with a guest vocalist, despite Mike clearly only coming up in the chorus. Mike's voice and star power just couldn't be tamed.
I thought the SAME thing when I heard that song with no other thought! This is hilarious!!!
. . . also they didn’t mention Jermaine singing the ‘Ohh-Ohh-Ohh!’ and saying ‘WHO?’ after Rockwell asks the question ‘I wonder who’s watching me now?’ 😊
❤❤❤ i was very young when this used to play on the radio and thought it was MJ as well 😂😂😂😂
It wasn’t a secret. You can clearly hear that it’s Michael Jackson.
it was a sceret. Cuz Mike was Forced to do it... Cuz this was Barry Gordy's son
Totally agree! Nobody sound like Michael; especially during that era!😊
@@ThePrinceOfTheTalkbox it was not a secret. Everyone knew it was MJ back in the day.
MJ sometimes liked to sing on other people's songs. He sang on a Stevie Wonder song(All I do) and also on a Donna Summer song, his sister Rebbie's song Centipede, Ralph Tresvant's song Alright now, Diana Ross' Muscles, etc. MJ took over on one of his brother's Jermaine's songs--Tell me I am not dreaming. Michael was also featured on an Eddie Murphy song around that time named WhatsupwitU( if you have never heard it or seen the video, give it a look. The song is not bad but the video is...???).
MJ was at the height of his Thriller fame when this Rockwell song came out. It was a HUGE hit!
To be honest. This is why it became a hit
If someone can name his follow up hits after “watching me” I would say you are telling a fib…..😂
Until that happens…. I will continue to believe what you said is true
Well, if MJ liked the song and volunteered to sing on the track, then it must be a solid song and it would have been successful regardless! He had his father was a publisher in Motown! His brother n law was Michael Jackson etc etc! There's a lot going on for this song to be successful! But Michael is going to make it go further than it would without him! Obviously!
Who else is still listening in 2024??? For me this hit will forever be a classic ❤ RIP MJ 😇
Michael wasn't singing background vocals, he sang the chorus 😅 and everybody knew is was mj the second it hit the radio. This was released at the height of Michael's career
Right!. I always thought it was Michael Jackson song!..learn something new everyday
Mike could have just been present while recording and it was gon be a hit
Michael Jackson was always helping others and even rappers
I can see why the song resonated with MJ. It's his life..... Verse by verse..... paparazzi ever lurking...... No privacy. Rest well MJ.
They always told us the Urban Legend MJ showed up in his PJs and did it in one Take😂😂😂😂😂😂 but nobody ever backed the story up
EXACTLY! There's no doubt that the lyrics resonated with Michael.
Y'all remember his song Leave Me Alone? Nuff said, MJ could _definitely_ relate to Rockwell's song
Michael’s voice is unmatched, everyone in the world knew he was singing background
That song still rocks in 2024 🔥🔥🔥
Comes through kicking butt in 2024. I start getting bold like I'm surrounded by micheal angels 😂😂😂a whole massive army of them. Umm but yes we knew Mike was just helping Berrys son. We never heard anything else from Rockwell. This song still gets air play sometimes tho. Mike is still in heavy rotation on the stations I favor. Prince too I'm so glad. In Madonna's face. Mike felt she was jealous of him n she bullied him on some kind of staged date he must've had to go along. He hated it n didn't care for her much. Also IDK what his marriage to LMP was all about but she seems to despise him after their divorce. He was under scrutiny n fighting those awful allegations. He suddenly married her?? IDT it worked in his favor. It's all bananas bc her father married her mother after stealing her teens. So.
To have the King of Pop sing background and chorus on your song is legendary in itself. Not many can say they had the privilege of singing with him let alone him sing background for them.
Wow, i knew it. That chorus with Michael's vocals is literally the reason this song is a hit
definitely a hit, whoever produced the instrumental was ahead of the times
For those of us who remember when this song came out, it was an exciting time to see Mike in his prime.
For Mike to take a back seat and lend his voice is awesome. Mike was in the forefront. That was nice of Mike.
Mike just loved Music. If the music was good, MJ was wanted to be apart of it.
Mike loved Berry Gordie! Like a father figure, and so did Jermaine. Which im sure yall heard was married to his daughter. Mike was like family to them. People have the weirdest theories. Mike this, Mike that, it was nice of him to lend his voice. Lol.
Michael was instant gold on whatever track he was featured in.
A classic in so many ways
They have great chemistry, and should have done more songs together, possibly an entire album
I knew that MJ sang that chorus before I knew whose song it was. MJ’s voice is unique. The only artist out there that sometimes sounds like him is The Weeknd.
@@Night_Embersnope the weeknd is by far the closest vocalist. This has been factually proven. Sound can be measured.
He was able to relate to the lyrics. It was his life!!!
This is Michael's song. He sang the chorus while Rockwell spoke the verses.
Didn’t know Rockwell was yet another one of Gordy’s offspring. He spread his seed like wildfire. Who didn’t he shack up with and get pregnant?
MJ's voice made the song! That's it! RIP KING of POP❤️🙏🌹👏🌟
Michael is so gracious
Not so fast. Sometimes artist do things, not just him. MJ got the guitar solo for Beat It for free from Eddie Van Halen....sooooooo
It is no secret! 😂 Michael's singing voice was very recognisable especially in the 80's as he was everywhere 😂
That 80's look will always be classic!!!
Michael is the reason this song was a hit.
mike was so talented all he did was sing the chorus and made a person famous and gave him his first number 1 hit
"CLASSIC"..... I still play this song till this day, and continue to do so..... 👍👍👍.... 💯💯💯......
It's no secret we already knew for so many years that was Michael singing back round.
Great choice to pick Mike for background it helped make this song a classic
Rockwell was Barry Gordys SON .. Michael HAD TO DO IT..and Didn't Do another FEATURE...for him
You have the internet RIGHT at your fingertips and still decide to make this idiotic post without fact checking your own self. He featured on several songs after this. Two of 3T songs, one of Brandy's songs, etc
Best thing that ever happened to that song. Love you Michael.
This song will forever be a part of my childhood❤
He knew. It sounded like the second part of thriller to be honest.
This song still go hard
The first hit by a unknown artist becoming a hit cause of the voice on the hook by a major artist‼️
Classic still listening till this days
MJ chorus made that song stand out way more than it would have otherwise, always sounded like a spiritual successor to Thriller.
Makes this song even more of a Banger !!
Man!!!
If only someone asked Michael during an interview to please sing the chorus just one time. ONE TIME. 😊
For years I knew it was MJ voice was ppl would say no way 😮
Even up to couple days someone was contradicting me stating it wasn’t Micheal vocals when I ask. Glad for this so I know the truth
I've always liked that song as a kid
like everyone else in this feed, i knew it was Michael too even as kid when it came out his voice is distinctive.
Perfect voice for that and Micheal knew that. Musical genius
Sweet jesus to this day i still listen to this song. Its a banger for me
A star always shines. M J was simply genuine and with a big heart.
That song is amazing
LOVE this Song!!! You can definitely hear Michael's voice in the song.
I love this Song
Not only chorus but whole framework of musical nuances from beginning to end..which the world had never experienced before!!!
I never had realized Michael had any part!!!!😮❤ I liked that song, and the video freaked me out unforgettable!
Always knew this. I grew up with Michael's music. Anyone not recognizing his voice on the song must be from another generation.
And that's why it was a hit not because he's Barry Gordy's son😅
Ive always loved this song
It has aged very well and still sounds great in 2024
He once said this song was going to be a hit without Mike's background vocals......me personally i dont think so...ijs... beautiful song tho❤❤
I thought it was MJ song, all i remember was waiting for the chorus, Rockwell was forgettable.
@@jamaali2358 YES!!!!❤😂 I ONLY cared about the chorus...👑 of POP MADE that song.
And of course my boy Michael tore it up!
Rockwell’s nepo baby self is straight lucky he got MJ on the hook. Not sure that song would have been anywhere near as big without it. Bro is damn near talking his verses 😂
It's like a horror movie parody rap song, so the talk-singing is to be expected. 😸
I'm curious whether he had actual better songs on that album, because this one is so very mid without MJ and Jermaine's vocals.
He was a guest artist on his own record. As soon as that song came on, all I wanted to hear was the chorus 😂
Berry Gordy cheated on his wife with Rockwell's mother, who is also much, much younger than Berry.
His voice and dance was no less than miraculous!!! Why the world fell at his feet!!!
Micheal felt that song in his soul and knew he had to lwt it out and that seemed to be his only way of expressing the same emotion Rockwell was explaining in the song...
Michael Jackson's iconic "HeeHee" at the end was a dead giveaway.
That powder had him pardoned 😂
Never knew that was. Michael. But now that I do, I cant believe I didn't!
This song was huge in the 80’s and still sounds fresh. I remember the video on the real mtv and night tracks

Micheal’s voice took this song to another level ❤❤
I knew it was him ❤
Wow I’m 58 and I never knew this
And that's why I always like that song
Killed it!
How can you NOT recognize Michael's iconic voice?
I honestly always thought that was him or someone else doing a really really good impersonation of michaels voice bc I only ever heard the song credited to Rockwell alone.
M.J.'s Voice is highly unique &, unmistakable a100 years from now...
MJ also knew what it felt like to be watched. 👀
This song is iconic for both artists ❤
I WAS 1 OF THE FIRST TO HAVE THIS SONG!! STILL DO, SOUNDTRACK TO MY LIFE!👍👍👍
I was 10 years old when this song came out , it was the jam
I love this song classic forever
As a child, I used to think this was Michael’s song (featuring Rockwell)
Thanks for info! LoveMJ4evr😊
Michael’s was so powerful that it made a simple song a major hit 🎼
80's people already knew that.
Thanks for the education. I never heard of this story...this is classic stuff! Thanks again.
Actually Michael thought he and other people would be doing the backgrounds. Rockwell took off the other people's backgrounds in the final mix and just left Michael. Basically he took advantage
The voice is why people loved this song, the actual chorus. It was a great song!!!
Rockwell sounded British😂😂❤❤
still love this song. Classic one hit wonder.
I knew and know my baby's voice! I looked for him diligently in that video each time it came on, I was a kid.
I never saw Michael in the video. Lol, I damn sure looked though.
I LOVE these video clips sharing ALL this cool talent❤️❤️❤️
I thought that was Michael Jackson song when I first heard it.
Michael's voice would sell any record.
❤
I loved this song.❤❤❤❤❤
Michael's voice was the reason this song was a hit
I don't think so that was a good song lyrically
Nah
This song is trash without Michael 🫡
I wonder if yall ever get tired of hating yourselves and inflicting it on others.
@@Godloveszaza????????? You dropped this kWeEn 🤡
