Props to Arsenal for putting stuff like this out there, its kind of why you get to understand why most of the ex players still love the club, so much love and togetherness

Why most of the ex players still love the club,

This is so true
This is so heartbreaking... the courage it's taken to open up about this is inspirational. Both Beth and Viv showing the mental side of this injury as well as the physical is insightful, showing factors of stress and emotional strain could be a massive cause of ACLs. I'm glad they have each other and the support of everyone at the club. This truly is a family ❤🤍
Loving the message from the lady at 19.48 and the implication that women are too fragile - I can feel her frustration. More academies now, not in ten years time... so frustrating. Great that Arsenal have this support. Love 'em.
STEP BY STEP Episode 5 ?❤ 15:11
you know what this was really well put together by the club, the got a lot a of stick for whether they were doing enough to support players that were injured. they clearly put a lot of thought. Thanks to beth & viv for sharing
I am loving these series, being a private elite strength and conditioning for footballers - it's nice to hear about the importance to S&C !! :)
This is heartbreaking and meaningful all at once. Although it's sad to see struggles Mead and Miedema have gone through, I find it also meaningful that their cases will be setting stepping stones for the development of women's sports, especially in youth sports, which will significantly benefit the upcoming generations.
Things like this make you proud to be an Arsenal fan.
Very informative episode and props to Arsenal for putting in the effort 👍👍🇳🇱
I feel so sorry for beth she was bearly takling and it looked like she was holding back tears😭
STEP BY STEP Episode 5
Fascinating topic really, trying to uncover the causes of why ACL is so prevalent in women's football. I'd love to see some data on footwear and if there is a correlation between insufficient female specified footy boots and increase in ACL injuries.
Yes ACL women 16:24
Yes. I was stunned to learn that, even at the professional level, women are playing in men's boots.
@5:50. Laying there, probably in all kinds of pain, knowing her knee is just shredded and all the things she's about to miss and you see the main thing on her mind.
This is incredible, because it is different pieces of research coming together into one puzzle. For example i never have the opportunity to buy football boots in my proper size because they simply do not make them which i feel is so relevant to the cause of injury for so many people.
very informative and educative.......good work
Props to Arsenal for petting stuff like this this out
There, its kind of why you get to understand
Why most of the ex players still love the club,
So much love and togetherness❤ 7:42
I mean, how much it could cost for the sponsors to give special women boots? I mean come on, and its still a subject to talk about. These are suppose to be enforced by the clubs while taking sponsorship deals.
My theory for the question 19:28
the speed and the intensity of women's game have been increasing while their games are getting more popular
I was very interested in this documentary, not only am I a born and bred Gooner (Avenall Rd. N5) my granddaughters play girls football and have bother with boots. So I found the science regarding boot companies not doing boots made for women very surprising especially after the ladies euro’s and World Cup. ACL injuries are serious. Hoping we do the double this year both Men and Women.COYG.
👏👏proud of the work of my club and Viv and Beth. Thank you for the insight. A change in boots for women should be easily done. Strength training from a young age is important. Girls need to be trained as athletes
Love you guys
First love these people genuinely inspired by these ❤
Kudos to arsenal management 🫶🏼
Arsenal is a family 🔴⚪️
I am hoping to see you both back on the pitch when I go in February
Keep wondering if there is a nutritional component too? Bones and ligaments and other connective tissue may benefit from certain minerals?
i m going for conditioning at an earlier age , the pitch thing is a bit speculative , sunday league play on mole hills every sunday
I agree
Viv's accent it very interesting

0:51 is that my boi charlie?
Definitely need more research into womens football boots
I had an acl injure but it wasnt publicized like this.😢
Women are built differently to men and a lot of studies are pointing towards the monthly cycle, hormones have to be a big part of it as 91% of ACL tears in women's football happen during or just after there cycle.
So maybe we see looking at a safe drug to help balance the hormones during this time which could cut down the high risk of ACL tears.
I'm not a dr or a woman so I cant or wont act as though i know, I'm just saying what the vaste majority of researchers think is the reason
"Young girls learn to move like good footballers, but not necessarily athletes".
What are you smoking lady?😂
As in they emulate what they see footballers do without getting the athletic performance aspect. People seem to keep forgetting women's football went professional very very recently. Most older female players now probably started as university students or other sorts of professionals doing it part time.
@@X3R013 Agreeable. From 1920s to 2020s, men's football took a century to get to where it is today. Every thing evolved slowly with time. Meanwhile, women were banned from playing football for a very long time and now they want to skip some decades in that development time which is now costing them in the physicality department
