I am amazed how other nations loved filipino folk songs. Filipino composers are really this good? So proud to know that this is happening. Thanks youtube bloggers.
This is one of the most beautiful things in choral music, we get to exchange cultures through songs. Ang mga pinoy choirs sad daghan ug foreign songs sa repertoire. Its just so amazing to hear other nationalities singing songs in our language and we sing theirs as well. So beautiful. :)
@@torinoherreraof course, if your performing, in a competition’s and a large crowd you might change the tune of the song to hear more pleasant to the ears of the audience. But still a kid song.
"made up by kids." I doubt it! Some adults composed this song and then kids learned it in elementary school in their morning singings and from there just passes through generation. Every year another batch of grade 1s, 2s, and 3s would sing their heart out singing this and many other folk songs we memorized singing especially in the morning before teacher starts the lesson of day.
No. It's not a fad. A lot of Filipino choir songs are standard international fare. I remember an international choir gathering in the 70s at the Luneta open air theater, and participants from all over the world all came prepared with their own choir songs and several of the Philippine standards they had to sing, like "Kaming Magmamani", "Dahil Sa Iyo", "Leron Leron Sinta", and many more. Just like our top Philippine choirs (example, the UP Madrigals, etc) have to learn choir songs of other nations, other nations do the same too. It's part of the degree of difficulty that's a factor in international competitions. It just so happens also that we have a lot of Filipino choir materials that are of great standards. That's why they're popular among world choir groups.
for me Utah USA is more clean and great body of interpretation but they are professional and some of them are Music Graduate. I think it is unfair to compare (if comparing the two) , the Utah singers are from Burckingham University - the Mormon University which is very famous in U.S. "The Mormon Tabernacle Choir" (well disciplined choir).
o m g,,, amazing,,,, as a Filipino myself, i find this performance very impressive,, sorry Philippines,, this is way better,, its different when its sang by other nationalities who dont really speak tagalog. the level of difficulty is high. good job..

How can a song made up by kids in the Philippines can be sung and papular all over the world!
Song arrangement makes the difference between a child song and a performance song.

Of all Folk Music around the world, International Choral Group of many foreign Universities use the Philippines Folk songs and I wondered why?
I'm wondering also...many universities use or Philippine folk songs.
I guess our folk songs are fun and interesting to learn the song and the language. Foreign audiences are having fun too.
PHONETICS, easy to learn and pronounce.
Philippines has joined so many competitions and had won.So I guess they became so interested and made their own versions.
Love the arrangement....
Bravo to both. Utah is the winner. Perfect rendition of this song
I wonder what started this Filipino Song Enchantment Syndrome around the world? :-)
I'm wondering too that many countries sing our kundiman songs or whatever it is...probably the way it sounds...and very appealing to their ears.

Harmony is ok but syllabication is kinda distracting. Just saying.
