JEM and The Holograms was/is the ULTIMATE cool ‘80s cartoon and my favorite line of dolls!!!!!!!! Later on in my collecting journey, after Jem, I became obsessed with Shana, followed by Stormer. I own original mint NRFB JEM dolls - namely the original JEM, Glitter n’ Gold, and Rock n’ Curl - and the Glitter n’ Gold fashion line and crazy rare Hasbro authorized JEM miscellany, opened toy items with their original boxes, dolls wearing complete original Jem & Misfits outfits, dolls wearing one part original and one part vintage from who knows what other crazy toy lines, also dolls wearing clothes totally unrelated to anything JEMesque or even thematically rock star. While I own this entire doll line, and characters in the multiples - because there is NO way anyone can be content with having just one! - they are primarily 1st wave releases, except for the main character herself and Shana - because I HAD to get Shana with a widows peak in her hairline and wearing earrings! I have the original shoes and accessories as well as knockoff Sears outfits that came with their own sets of shoes that fit JEM dolls - they’re surprisingly well-made and stylish pieces - and I did place an order a long while back with JEMgirl for some custom-made sparkly pumps! To sum things up, whether completely authentic or not, all my dolls are dressed to the nines! The Starlight Girls are doing great. Admittedly, Video, Jetta, Raya, and Rio Pacheco are my least favorites of the bunch, so they keep quiet while they take the backseat row in my collection. What I don’t have (or even want, at this point) are the cassette tapes and every stand that came with every doll - though I have the purple labelled tape that came with my loose Synergy doll & stand, and an unopened rebate mail-in tape - and really now, I honestly don’t care, not to mention I am out of space to spare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRULY OUTRAGEOUS!🤩⚡️💥🌟⭐️✨
Nice collection! I agree that Jetta and Raya are not the cutest dolls on the block. I do like Video, though! My dream is to find a Jem lot at Savers or Goodwill or something for cheap, but I don't see that happening- ha ha!
i love these dolls. i only got a nude jem doll which i dressed up with pink fabric. synergy's original outfit design reminds me of gigi grant. perhaps gigi was designed after her... danse is so pretty!
Very nice. Coming from a jem fan from the 80s. Ajas outfit is a original Jem outfit. Actually in the cartoon it was a Kimber outfit. At 42 I still kind of wish I still had my jem dolls
I totally love your collection and not even to seeing you but FYI Roxy originally came in these metallic type pants with like multicolores all over them with like a purple fuzzy looking sweater and a belt I had all of them I loved Jim and I loved the misfits I even had Jetta I wish for everything that I still have my collection
I have the Glitter n gold Jem and Rio, Flash n sizzle Jem, Jetta and Clash dolls and also most of the ones you have with original boxes and cassette tapes ! Love Jem dolls so much and I remember seeing them in toy shops in 1986 and 87 when I was a kid !
Kewpie83 yes they really are and I wish Hasbro hadn't stopped making them in the mid 80s ! They should of continued production of them at least to the 90s ! They are so original, colorful and exciting !
Great collection! I love your video! I am a huge Jem fan as well! I am also a Child of the 80’s and the cartoon was my sister and I’s favorite. I remember we cried when the show ended! We had several of the dolls as kids as well as the Rockin roadster too. I agree the car was amazing and I liked it much more than the Gn’G roadster too! I wish I still had my original dolls but as an adult collector I have managed to get all the original dolls from the series over the past few years. Like another person said u can find a lot of the original clothing in Barbie lots on eBay I have found many of them this way but u do have to spend quite a bit of time searching. I also agree about the Integrity dolls I think they look great but are way too expensive! I was excited to see they came out with the 35th anniversary edition but then found out u had to be a club member to even order a doll like wow! I am on a FB group classic Jem doll collectors it’s really cool lot of 80’s kids fans like us u should join!
Your collection sounds really nice! I'm hoping to find some deals on Jem clothing one day. I've done a little switching around since shooting this video. A really nice Synergy and a Krissie are on my list, too. The ending of the cartoon bugs me, b/c there's no reveal! I just want to see Jerrica tell Rio that she's also Jem (and then ask him to explain why he was chasing after both of them romantically- ha ha- which didn't occur to me as a kid).

Funny thing I just found a Kimber doll at the Goodwill for 2 dollars, I actually left her there the first time I seen her there and went back the next day and bought her as I had to go there yet again to grab some cheap xmas decorations for work and she was still there so I thought okay I will buy you. She had messy hair and a soiled homemade knitted outfit. So I brought her home and gave her a hot boil and a good clean up.I dressed her in a cool Sparkle Girl dress and a fake leather jacket, found her a pair of shoes, and she looks so awesome now I can't believe I almost let her slip away. I just love this doll as I put some effort into fixing her up.Oh I also have two other Jem dolls a Rock and curl still in the box and a Jem that has like tinsel in her hair I also picked her up at the Goodwill over a year ago, this one was in minty shape with no fixing needed. So I love your collection and maybe some more will fall in your lap, you just never know!!!!
The only Jem doll I had is the one you're missing, LOL! I had Clash, the purple haired one with cymbals on her bracelets. I got her when I was 11 and she came with an audio cassette with the Jem theme and a couple Misfits songs on one side and instrumentals on the other side so you could sing karaoke. I went to a car boot sale and I have found a very grubby nude doll. I don't know why, I suspected she could be a jem and the Holograms doll. It is crazy considering I have never seen any in real life or in pictures. And yes she is. I identified her thanks to your video. She is the same as your childhood doll. I will revive her and find an outfit that will fit her. She needs lots of Beauty Spa treatments but she is in good condition overall! So finally, I have seen a Jem doll for the first time! They are kind of "cult" dolls so I am pleased to have one. It was really unexpected!

I know. There was an article where the lead in the Jem movie mentioned that she had either been scanned or had physically seen a doll head that was meant to be released, but that idea must have been scrapped. It would have been nice if they had relaunched the dolls, regardless of the movie's backlash.
FYI incase you want the dolls wearing as close to their originals outfits as possible, you're Kimber doll is wearing Aja's original skirt and tights. Shes also wearing Roxy's original shirt. Also thats not Roxy's original skirt. Roxy didn't wear a skirt. The original Roxy had multi colored shiny pants. You're Aja doll is wearing an outfit that was sold separately that was meant for Kimber. That second edition Jem is wearing her original outfit. I believe she was called Rock and curl Jem if memory serves me correctly. I didn't love the look of her either but I loved her dress. I agree with you the first edition Jem is the best looking Jem. Also I'm super jealous of your collection. Lol. I had most of these dolls when I was little. When I was 13 and decided I'd grown out of dolls me and my best friend gave them all hair cuts before I through them all in the garbage. My adult self highly regrets this decision. Great video! I absolutely love Jem and the Holograms, I wasn't born in the 80s (sadly) but I grew up with the show. And I really must agree with you on the prices for the dolls, they are really expensive!. And the Aja doll does have a outfit from the Jem fashion line, it's called Permanent Wave. Also what do you think of the dolls from Integrity Toys? I really like them, I don't own any at the moment though. :)
I think the dolls from Integrity are too expensive and way too limited to even consider buying. I don't like their Jem at all, too haughty looking for my taste. The same goes for the rest of the holograms. I do like their Synergy, Rio, Misfits and Stingers. If those fell into my lap, I wouldn't turn them down. But the prices Integrity sells things at are WAY too high for me.
The Integrity dolls actually have the face paint correct for the characters. The hasbro ones don't. The hasbro face molds also do not look like the cartoon characters at all, and if you compare hasbro Raya and Pizzazz, you will see they share the same face mold. I have an Integrity NIB GIFT SET "In Stitches" Jem and Pizzazz, a NIB Integrity first edition Kimber, a NIB Integrity Roxy, and an Integrity Raya in near mint it has been removed fron the box, and the belt is missing.
So cute. I found second edition naked but in good condition for 2 dollars. She at least had her earring. And like two months ago I found first edition Jem with her outfit, no shoes, the same street vendor for 2 dollars. I love the show growing up.
I sadly didn't grow up in the 80s and only discovered Jem in 2012. I watched the first 8 episodes on here, then made my way to ebay after discovering there were dolls! At the time, it didn't seem that pricey. I soon got a nude Pizzazz really cheap and then, before I knew it, I had Roxy, Rio, Jem, Kimber and Clash. And my Jem was such a score because I got her MIB for around $50, but alas the box was trashed. Totally worth it, to me, though. And her earrings still flash! The production history of these dolls is interesting. So many strange things going on behind the scenes. And two of the dolls I got came with their respective cassettes 😍 I still think Hasbro is making a mistake by not releasing those songs in a soundtrack! Great review!
i love jem and the holograms! i have watched the TV show like 50 times! i have every original character dolls in original outfits and jems stage playset and i have stands and cassette tape and a pair of ear rings i just love JEM! lol :P great video so glad to see this! :D
I keep watching this all the time. For a while I was trying to get them in the box, but now I'm just trying to get all the Holograms, but if I get the Misfits while trying to buy the Holograms so be it.

i have had a billion shoes but only one set fit Jem dolls...so far. I was so thinking the Shoezies would fit...they don't. Monster High do not, as well. Have you found any shoes that fit? I am NOT paying $10+ on eBay for a pair.
I was just dressing up my dolls and came across your video. I love your collection! Ive been slowly collecting them myself over the years and now have almost one of each and a Glitter and Gold Jem still in the box which I just noticed still has the original price tag on it of $19.95 so I dont think its from the same country as me (NZ) I remember it definitely cost $39.99 here; man I used to drool over that doll in the toy shop haha. now I've got one in its box and I'm stuck with the dilemma, should I take it out? I doubt I will but its so tempting. Thanks for reading my rambling :)
All I had was jem and kimber as a child too I just recently began to complete my collection I currently only have one more starlight girl to get and I'll have them all in TLC condition bit that's ok because I love giving dolls makeovers and redesigning them my way.

I didn't expect to find a huge bulk of my collection in one lot but I got real lucky this month it was like my late grandmother sent them my way as to say she is still thinking about me because I received them approximately ten years to the day when she bought me my very first Darci doll.

I know this question is a year old, but incase anyone still want's to know, Darcy dolls are same size, and mego 12-inch bionic woman shoes are usable, as well.
@@Kewpie83Hasbro never made the Stingers. Both the dolls and the series were no longer in production in 1988, replaced by Maxie, a doll I felt was closer to Skipper than she was to Barbie. It was Integrity Toys who included the Stingers as part of their Jem doll collection in the 2010's
I have to be honest, and admit I think they are one of the uglyest collection of dolls I got a few one Christmas, they went to a doll drive for under previlged kids around 10 years later, when I moved into the Nurses home when starting my training! I can't understand the hype around these dolls. As a doll collector, I still wouldn't give the house room! Lol! Each to their own. Good collection though. I'd watch those whiite spots on your misfits legs, it could be plastic disease it can infect other dolls. 👍❤️
I know what you mean. By no means are they the prettiest dolls around. I think I like them b/c I love the cartoon and they were out when I was the perfect age for them. I'd like to see a re-release of them on day that look more like their cartoon characters or the graphics on the box. There are some that are really ugly to me, too, like Raya and Jetta. They're so manly looking. It's a bit ehhhh. But I still have them for the sake of completing my poorly dressed collection! ha ha!

I think my cassette tapes are long gone. I ended up downloading all the songs from the internet and burning them to CD.

i have had a billion shoes but only one set fit Jem dolls...so far. I was so thinking the Shoezies would fit...they don't. Monster High do not, as well. Have you found any shoes that fit? I am NOT paying $10+ on eBay for a pair.
I use to have some of these dolls when I was younger. They are ridiculously high these days. Not all of them have everything came the original.

I was just dressing up my dolls and came across your video. I love your collection! Ive been slowly collecting them myself over the years and now have almost one of each and a Glitter and Gold Jem still in the box which I just noticed still has the original price tag on it of $19.95 so I dont think its from the same country as me (NZ) I remember it definitely cost $39.99 here; man I used to drool over that doll in the toy shop haha. now I've got one in its box and I'm stuck with the dilemma, should I take it out? I doubt I will but its so tempting.

De-boxing is never a question for me. They are always freed from their cardboard cages once I buy them. Your collection sounds really nice!

All I had was jem and kimber as a child too I just recently began to complete my collection I currently only have one more starlight girl to get and I'll have them all in TLC condition bit that's ok because I love giving dolls makeovers and redesigning them my way.

I didn't expect to find a huge bulk of my collection in one lot but I got real lucky this month it was like my late grandmother sent them my way as to say she is still thinking about me because I received them approximately ten years to the day when she bought me my very first Darci doll.

They never made The Stingers. There are only prototypes from Hasbro. The first Stinger dolls were made by Integrity years later.

Good question! Alas, I have no idea. Most of my Jem dolls are in their shoes or barefoot!
I know this question is a year old, but incase anyone still want's to know, Darcy dolls are same size, and mego 12-inch bionic woman shoes are usable, as well.

They never got to make the Stingers in this series. Later, another company did.
@@Kewpie83Hasbro never made the Stingers. Both the dolls and the series were no longer in production in 1988, replaced by Maxie, a doll I felt was closer to Skipper than she was to Barbie. It was Integrity Toys who included the Stingers as part of their Jem doll collection in the 2010's
Some goofs, but no big deal. Roxy wore pants, not a skirt.
One day I'll stumble upon some outfits to get them all freshened up. ha ha!
I have to be honest, and admit I think they are one of the uglyest collection of dolls I got a few one Christmas, they went to a doll drive for under previlged kids around 10 years later, when I moved into the Nurses home when starting my training!
I can't understand the hype around these dolls. As a doll collector, I still wouldn't give the house room! Lol! Each to their own. Good collection though. I'd watch those whiite spots on your misfits legs, it could be plastic disease it can infect other dolls. 👍❤️
I know what you mean. By no means are they the prettiest dolls around. I think I like them b/c I love the cartoon and they were out when I was the perfect age for them. I'd like to see a re-release of them on day that look more like their cartoon characters or the graphics on the box. There are some that are really ugly to me, too, like Raya and Jetta. They're so manly looking. It's a bit ehhhh. But I still have them for the sake of completing my poorly dressed collection! ha ha!
