About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

WHY DOES NO ONE TALK ABOUT THIS SONG ITS AMAZING
StickguyMB ikr
StickguyMB my favourite
StickguyMB ikr
Its a very raw track! Love it. But then again i love all blur stuff
Purest Grunge, like Mudhoney!
Seriously underrated. I was in love with this song from the first second I heard it. It's so beautiful I CAN'T STRESS IT ENOUGH! Damon's voice is immaculate and the guitar solos are just amazing
^
The guitar sound is unique yeah. Thanks Graham 🙏🏽❤️
Best song on Leisure, this one has certain mood to it - heavy and sad
Also my favourite
shoegaze
Best track on the album!
i agree
bilariba agree too
The only one
I really love “Sing” and “Repetition” is good too
Every time I come here
I'm not sure what to say
I know it should be easy
But it never seems that way
You, you make me feel
Like no one ever will
So why, why do you bore me?
Until my heart is still
You, you wear me down
My defenses are gone now
And I can't fight
You, you wear me down
My defenses are gone now
And I can't fight
I can't say I love you easily
But you wouldn't want me to
So I'd rather just say nothing
And leave it up to you
Then it's easy to forget
You're just as small as me
Then it's easy to forget
You're just as foolish as me
You, you wear me down
My defenses are gone now
And I can't fight
You, you wear me down
My defenses are gone now
And I can't fight you
You, you make me feel
Like no one ever will
So why, why do you bore me?
Until my heart is still
You, you wear me down
My defenses are gone now
And I can't fight
You, you wear me down
My defenses are gone now
And I can't fight you
I hope to listen to this masterpiece again when I get older and older and older. So when that time comes I will go to the comments section and read this comment posted by myself.
Blur fan til the day I die!
Leisure has a unique sound... And I like it, even if it isn't their best album
charmlessnerd If you like Leisure you should check out the genre shoegaze. Bands like My bloody valentine and Slowdive are good starters
Radiohead too maybe.
@Enzo Almada You don't like Sing? That's the best song on this lukewarm album.
Love everyone of their albums!
It is.
THIS SONG IS TOO GOOD TO EXIST... But seriously, this is the best off Leisure imo
you’re everywhere in radiohead

knowing blur since 2014 but never considered listening to this album completely because even damon hated this album so i thought it cant be that good! but just hearing the first second of this song made me regret my decision and i can say this album deserves more attention and love and this song is the best song to end an album after weezers only in dreams
ok you got me in the end, only in dreams is a masterpiece for me
similar experience.. love this song and I think I love the album
This album is hugely underrated. So many good songs.
i really love this album, Leisure deserves more love. especially this song.
For a supbar Blur album, the ending track is really good. I wish they played this one more.
I am convinced the reason damon hated grunge was because he had it in the palm of his hand but he just couldn't quite get it. Brilliant song
Masterpiece! One of the best album ever!
Best song on that cd, one of my favourite Blur songs...period
1991, my birth year and Leisure's too. My Blur's definitive album
One of my favs, love this.
This is a good classic album it's not clever or massively ambitions but it works very well and has lots of energy Albarn shouldn't be so hard on it.
Too right. This album metamorphized over one summer in North London. The Odd Eccentric at the beginning of the summer, a Brit Pop Scene by the end. The Loved up summer, oh yeah.
I think he just dislikes it so much because the band had so many ideas to show off and then the label basically neutered their debut and told them it could only be madchester and a bit of shoegaze. Sing didn't even make it to the US version.
If you listen to b-sides from this era, you'll hear what their potential really was at the time.
Underrated song from an underrated album
Such a tune
Great song. I like the chorus :)
You,you wear me down
My defenses are gone now
And I can't fight
This song is incredible 👌
grew up with this one... years later everything got sense
dude this song is SO underrated
THIS IS THE BEST SONG OF LEISURE OMG
This song, especially the chorus, makes a perfect introduction to Modern Life Is Rubbish.
The whole album is amazing. I think it’s their best one
Brilliant .....13 next week son....😂😂
linda musica
Epic track, early blur just has a vibe
Tremendous song!
i can’t get enough of the guitar solos, especially the one at 2:50 HOOOLY SHIT !!!
You can tell Albarn was a Syd Barret’s fan
Still beautiful today
blur>>>>oasis
Oasis doesn't stand a chance... At least, Blur were not just doing Beatles
Please... just listen to the music and donť talk shit
la reputa madre dejen de hacer quedar mal al fandom de blur
no
@@aymericmurer56 well you're here, of course you'd say that
im sorry to say but this is THE ONLY WAY i can break up with ppl. praise blur
Pretty sure you have to be in a relationship forst
Bets song on the album
Love this song. LOVE IT.
my jam
I've enjoyed this album :)
The single most criminally underrated song, quite possibly,of all time.NME et al consistantly circle jerked over Modern Life,Parklife,Blur and Thirteen but always gave Leisure a critical mauling,me personally,I don't believe there's a bad song on it and simultaneously it's aged beautifully particularly this track and Sing, definitely one of the most overlooked albums of all time....
Probably my favorite from Leisure
This is the best album for me.
Love this song
Giving me chills
royal blood
damon really sounds like jyoti mishra in this song (one of my favourite music artists)
omg love this song
If you like this song, check out the band(s) The Moles, Cardinal and Richard Davies solo albums.
Me encanta ❤
I used to go swimming (and wear a swimming hat) where my ex bf was working as lifeguard for like £3.50 p/h. No lie. Sweet gig, right?! We made sure he landed on his feet! He didn't know I was there as I kinda looked a bit like primary school age, but a bit older and I never made eye contact with him, just freaked him out, so he'll never know, right? Right??
Did you always wear a black all in one costume, never bikini, never dive into the pool and often go with Mum? Always swim breaststroke? Pun unintended, but gimme da credz anywayz.
Yah thats right
Brilliant tune 🔥👍🏻
sobs casually*
Absolutely love this song, for me its my favourite song by them, shame its stuck at the end of their worst album, it dserves more recognition.
IMO this isn't their worst album.
Most underated blur song along with death at a party..
This song (and "Sing") has a real scene potential, but I think they weren't played in live that much.
Kinda sad.
love.

Boo! Make it a lyric video. I was there. In the Powerhaus Islington Angel for the record launch. I was doing the sound on stage, they played this song, I sat back looked out over their heads and into the crowd, and thought, this is what it must have been like to be at the Whiskey when the Doors played. A golden moment in time. Brilliant!
There is a really Syd Barrett vibe to this album.
i have this cd its really great . Kind of reminds me of the screaming trees lol
esta canción nunca se supera
One of blurs most shoegazy songs they ever made, or the song Sing. Anyway Both are amazing. Some good songs on Leisure.
I think it sounds like there’s a hint of grunge in it too
I've played this song so much- one of their best!
*i would like to feel like this, but i think it's the other way around, she feels like this…*
❤
DAMON 0_____0 DAMON
This, "Repetition" and in some parts, "Sing" are the closest things to grunge that ever came from Blur, naturally of course, (Song 2 was intended to be a grunge parody). When I first heard this, I got so thrown of by the fact that an English dude was singing over a grunge melody, because I was expecting some American guy with a raspy voice to start singing. It seems like "Leisure" borrowed so many elements from grunge, or it had that sad and melancholic tone to it at least, would make sense if it did, because this album came out when the grunge musical style was in it's prime time.
Parece mas shoegaze
😍😍😍
godssss
Oh Graham...
Cada vez que vengo aquí
No estoy seguro de qué decir
Sé que debería ser fácil
Pero nunca parece ser así
Tú, me haces sentir
Como nadie lo hará
Entonces, ¿por qué me aburres?
Hasta que mi corazón esté quieto
Tú, me desgastas
Mis defensas se han ido ahora
Y no puedo pelear
Tú, me desgastas
Mis defensas se han ido ahora
Y no puedo pelear
No puedo decir que te amo fácilmente Pero no querrías que yo
Así que prefiero no decir nada
Y déjalo en tus manos
Entonces es fácil olvidar
Eres tan pequeño como yo
Entonces es fácil olvidar
Eres tan tonto como yo
Tú, me desgastas
Mis defensas se han ido ahora
Y no puedo pelear
Tú, me desgastas
Mis defensas se han ido ahora
Y no puedo luchar contra ti
Tú, me haces sentir
Como nadie lo hará
Entonces, ¿por qué me aburres?
Hasta que mi corazón esté quieto
Tú, me desgastas
Mis defensas se han ido ahora
Y no puedo pelear
Tú, me desgastas
Mis defensas se han ido ahora
Y no puedo luchar contra ti
Damon Albarn is a musical genius.
kinks like. except distortion added
Grunge
yeah, okay.
I don't think it works to listen to artist 'reviews of their own work. John Lennon was critical of a lot of his own songs(!)
leisure is sad
no llega a los 100k. me parece una falta de respeto
A mí también 💔
*coughs up dino nuggets*
God dammit there they go again. Shit

very simmilar to nirvanas tracks
Really? Which ones? The ones that also have guitars, bass and drums on them?
That would be all Nirvana tracks. I really do hear the similarity especially in the guitar and bass tone. Also the chorus melody is very Cobain/Lennon
Hey, this doesn't need to be a pointless argument, but if you're going to imply plagiarism you should say which tune/s they are supposedly plagiarising.
A MC Suffolk nobody is implying plagiarism
I'm curious as well. This album was released in August 1991, a month before Nevermind was released and blew Nirvana up into popularity. So obviously it wasn't inspired by anything on Nevermind or In Utero. I was thinking the guitar was more inspired by Black Sabbath, you know, the band that Nirvana and practically every other Grunge band ripped off.
I think Wear me down represents what they did when making this song. They tried way too hard here.
