Is it just regular wallpaper? Was dolly's orginal surface that plastic vinyl? Just curious as I want to upgrade mine but I don't know what will work on the surfaces long term.. I have to say she is a beauty! Lovely job x
Hi there, I was wondering when you painted Dolly mark 2 with the coach paint what exactly did you used for the black bits like the window seals etc as they stand out so well in your pictures. Thanks very much. I'm looking to my 95 year old grandads caravan as a project soon for my small family and any tips on the painting would be great. I did see a vlog of yours so im scouring that also. Hello! I'm so sorry - I've only just seen your message!! Apologies for the late response. The only thing I did with all the window seals was give them a really good clean!!! I didn't use any other products on them at all. To be honest, I think, painting the exterior freshened everything up and that - along with cleaning them - made a real difference.
Hi. I am just intrigued how much you considered the weight gain to the van during the restoration? I'm doing something similar and wanted to know your thoughts?
Hi Gaz, we replaced the flooring with laminate - which was the biggest change in terms of weight. As this is fairly standard practice, we didn't consider it to be a problem. The only other changes were cosmetic - just wallpaper and paint - so there was very little extra weight gain.
